Hearthstone's Arena to Soon Receive Cool New Exclusive Cards, Temporarily
Blizzard has designed 27 new cards that could possibly be added only to the arena, and they are letting people at BlizzCon vote on which ones get added! All of this is taking place at the Q&A panel starting later today at 2:30 PM PDT (5:30 PM EDT, 10:30 PM CET).
- These cards are not from the new expansion.
- They will be added short term to the arena in an arena event.
- Each class has 3 cards, only 1 from each will make it in.
We'll be covering the panel live, so stay tuned for the results!
Quote from Mike DonaisWe have 27 new cards we’re considering adding to the Arena—come vote on which ones YOU think should go straight into the game! Then, join the Hearthstone development team for a Q&A session.
These are 27 new cards we designed just for this panel.
We will show 3 cards from a class and talk about them and then let the audience pick one to go into arena.
Do you mean as a theoretical exercise or are these cards that will actually get added to the game?
They will be added as a short term arena event in the future.

Really like the ideas and cards, you could look at MTG's Conspiracy set which s just designed to be drafted for more ideas.
Arena-exclusive cards? Hopefully they will bring Warrior back from the dead.
It's only a new card for each class, I don't see how it'll make a lot of difference for warrior in arena with only 1 card
a card with text like "you can change your hero power to ping or tap" might bring back warrior from dumpster :)
It won't, believe me.
MAKE SIR FINLEY GREAT AGAIN
They keep doing things to push arena (free tickets, dual class event etc), while not addressing the fundamental issue that arena is not accessible and not particularly fun for newer players.
Unless you're amazing at arena, it currently feels like you just cross your fingers and hope you don't meet any insane OP decks (multiple bonemares, UIs, DKs etc) for as long as possible - it feels very hard to leverage skill into wins.
So I feel like this change is very likely to make that worse - the cards will likely by unbalanced, making it even more of a draft lottery...
I personally dont agree with your comment, I've seen many players average around 9 wins, and that's just my friend list. luck is surely an element, but you dont get such averages with luck alone.
Arena is new player friendly. Your collection is irrelevant, new players get a slight handicap, etc. If there was nothing to work for, there wouldnt be any replayability.
Average around 9? Are you sure? Because most pro-arena players are around 7 on average...
Or your friends are Kripp, Hafu and etc? :)
For example, Kripps KFT average is 6.81 due to Heartharena site statistics.
In Un'goro 7.21
I definitely agree that you don't have to be amazing for arena to be a good deal. But on the other hand you're exaggerating your friends' win rates. There were only two people that at averaged 9 wins on NA in the entire game last month. And the month before that there was only one.

I don't know exact wins of him, better never seen a couple of my friends get anything below 7 wins ^^ not that I take notes of their wins. Don't know what other people get on average, I just said what I saw lol. they can pretty much have 0-3 when I am off as well you know. yeah 9 was a bit too much, not a math person here ^^ I am pretty sure all of you got my point, don't get stuck on numbers please
Actually as many people rage about this guy's comments he's not wrong. As a newer player it's better just to but packs than go 3/3 in arena. You say the should learn but without playing that's hard sure you got watch streamers and things but if your a new player you might have something better to don with your time your unlikely to be that invested. The problem isn't in arena itself while yes it is unbalanced between classes it's that as an older player your more likely to have more game knowledge and more gold to spend on arena to improve at it. As a newer player if you average the average amount of wins then it's 1 run every 2 days assuming that you complete your daily quest overall several of which are hard to complete as new players that are f2p (ie play 10 pirates).
As a newer play you don't get a return on your investment as much as your not going to get higher win rate, so the experience isn't going to be fun so people aren't going to go into arena and pay more for a pack that they can't choose.
Will you be guaranteed one of these cards each run, then?
