Announcement
Quote from BlizzardFour weeks of hard brawling has come down to this! Team Light and Team Void will settle their score once and for all in the Oktoberbrawl finals at TwitchCon this weekend.
Scheduled for Oct. 20, the final showdown will kick off with a one game Wild match between Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime and Twitch CEO Emmett Shear. The two clashed last year in a bout that saw Emmett walk away the winner. Will Mike make an epic comeback this year?
Taking the stage after that will be the teams Light and Void, consisting of personalities you know and have cheered on these past couple of months.
The teams will square off in a best-of-five match, with each player representing their team for at least one game. Both teams have earned sabotages over the last four weeks of Oktoberbrawl, and they will finally be able to use them against each other at the Oktoberbrawl Finals at TwitchCon!
Sabotages
Team Void holds three sabotages: opponent must wear gauntlets while playing their match; opponent is limited to 30 seconds per turn; opponent must voice one of their hero’s emotes before making their play.
Team Light, on the other hand, holds just one sabotage: opponent must compete while in cosplay.
A sabotage will only affect the player representing their team for that round, and can be awarded in any order.
And the winner is...
Team Light may have stumbled a little in their Oktoberbrawl rumbles, but they’ve also got vengeance burning beneath those card backs! Kripparian, Alliestrasza, and Reynad have major bones to pick with Team Void, who took the grudge matches 3-1 against them.
It has been said that the comeback is real. Will we see Team Light end Oktoberbrawl with a flourish?
Watch the showdown live on PlayHearthstone on Oct. 20, 2017. Broadcast will begin shortly after the TwitchCon opening address. Broadcast will begin shortly after the TwitchCon opening address. If you’re in the vicinity, you can also visit TwitchCon in person, and soak up the rowdy Oktoberbrawl atmosphere.
Which sabotage are you most looking forward to? If it were up to you, which player would you pick to suffer that? Let us know in the comments—and we’ll see you there!
from twitch announcement: Finals at TwitchCon — October 21? this article says today?
"Team Light may have stumbled a little in their Oktoberbrawl rumbles"
Yeah, when your card pool is 1/3rd the size of your opponents', you tend to lose on the on-set. The fact that they have played as well as they have is an achievement unto itself.
Octoberbrawl's idea is not that bad, but this realization is so horrible...
Words can not describe how much i do not give a shit about oktoberbrawl
The only thing that was interesting about the whole promotion was that you can get 60 packs and a Legendary and still barely able to reach rank 15 as a pro player. New player experience in a nutshell. However after the players got bored of it, I got bored of it.
Big letdown on the sabotages. Thought it was going to be game-related (like the 30 second turn one). Gimmicks.
This is still a thing???
Team Salt FTW!!!
I like to think of it as just one small, additional, innocuous perk that my $50 per year awards me...
It's not that critical, mate.
"Scam". Really?
People complain that blizzard thinks we are incredibly stupid. Now the community thinks its members are incredibly stupid? Jesus, just think for yourself. Order Twitch Prime if you want to, or do not order it. Can't be that difficult to decide for yourself.
FYI, you can order twitch prime on its own. The reward system is much more than just the 2 card backs. Currently it is free in game items for NFL 18 and Warframe, as well as free loot boxes for Overwatch and HotS. Also: It's called marketing/promotion, it basicly intends to make people notice the platform since Twitch Prime is fairly new. It wants people to try out the games that have certain loot. It's a pretty normal ad tactic no where near a scam.
People on Hearthstone have just become entitled little shits who think they deserve every single gift that is technically possible on a F2P game.
2nd FYI: Far away from being tricked or scammed, since (as a student) I've got a year Amazon Prime for free which includes Twitch prime. It simply is not a scam since no one is forced to do anything. Cost in numbers: 0 bucks. Enjoy your conspiracies as well :)
on one side you got reynnad which i like, but you also have kripnevergetlucky so im cut in half(i dont dislike him but those "never lucky" memes were not my favourites)
I hate Mike Morhaime because he literally destroyed every Blizzard game in terms of pricing. The quality is reasonable (altough not perfect) but the pricing is insane for every game. Look at twitch, this is free, they get paid by sponsoring and everything is cool. Mike can actually learn a lot from the Twitch CEO...
Yeah, that's what I want in my games, a bunch of ads. /s
Do we really need to tell you that games need much more money than sponsorships could offer? Really?
