Just as an update to the thread. The first list I managed to hit rank 5 with is paladin but ended up having to upgrade it with 4 rare cards to compete against all the legendary-card-back players with their fully-loaded tier 1 decks.

Here is the pre-upgraded list and the upgrade substitutions are listed in the description

You need extreme luck to win with any of these decks past rank 10 , especially on NA server .

Even if you can theoretically get to rank 5 is not worth trying . You will mostly get frustrated .

Better solution : play arena until you can dust everything and make at least a version of a tier 1 deck . Than you'll cruise to rank 5 and feel much better about life .

Do you have to get to rank five with these deck or can it just have like a 65% + win rate? Because what if you can make a good deck but you are not a good enough player.

Usually it goes hand in hand right? Being a good player helps you make better decks :)

Well yes if you are a good player you will make good decks but I look at a lot of pro decks so I know what a good deck looks like but I really can not play them well enough to get past rank 13. And I know there are guide but that can not tell you enough sometimes.

I think you should feel free to contribute your deck ideas! I myself don't have time to test out all the decks fully either and some component will be theory-craft.

 To be honest, LOKShadow have great deck so... well, even though I have some legendaries (after dust most of my cards and stuff :( ) I'm F2P, I'll try these decks and see if I can pass from rank 15 :P

Amaz has a great tutorial on this, and prepared decks for each class here on Hearthpwn. I found them very useful when introducing friends to a game. It's for Basic cards only though.

EDIT: Re-reading posts, I realized there might have been some misunderstanding, sorry about that. Was focusing more on the matter of making good cheap decks available to new/F2P players, and less on the "Be able to reach at least rank 5" bit. So when I wrote "done" or "mostly done", it meant those decks are available already, not that I reached rank 5 with them ;)

 Yes, sort of what Trump or Sheng did, I used to run those decks in my early days. When new players graduate from basic-only, they can upgrade to these ones, and then... Come to think of it, what about a tiered challenge? Meaning, when new-ish players will be ready to go beyond Plebstone, it's still a long way up to full meta decks (for most classes, at least). Happened to stumble on Plebstone decks couple days ago, loved the concept, and glad to see it's receiving more visibility.

When F2P Hunter is about the same as top tier Hunter decks...

Wait wait wait wait... Atleast rank 5 with basdic and common cards? You can actually reach rank 5 without any rares, epipcs nor legendaries? Is it true or am I missing sth?

Give the priest and mage list a try. Those should be able to hit rank 5. But yes, sadly the golden days of F2P HS are over.

My kind of plebstone deck is a warlock deck with renounce darkness. I once beat a constructed DK Mage by renouncing into DK mage aswell FeelsGood
