Puffin Leaves an Offering
This post needed some fluff. Associate Game Designer, Puffinplays, found some relevant treats in the Blizzard break room this morning.
Get Cheaper Packs!
This section contains affiliate links. They help the site!
Although you can't make use of this offer for the new packs yet, you can collect cards on the cheap from expansions by using Amazon Coins. It does require an Android device though since you need to install the Amazon Underground Appstore in order to get the correct Hearthstone app that lets you redeem the coins.
So go buy some Amazon Coins at a discount to get cheaper packs! You can save your coins for the launch or spend them on older packs now. Be sure to visit our guide to learn more about Amazon Coins.
I assume the concede button does turn green when conditions are met (e.g. number of turns, damage taken and present on board, cards played ?).
At that point you can concede in play a friend mode and the quest will complete.
Perhaps knowing this for other reasons in the future will be relevant.
Layout is super clean after the cards were all revealed, looks great. Thanks team
Frozen Throne Card pack simulator PLZ hearthpwn make it happen :D
It's been here for a few hours, give it a shot!
This site is Top Shelf! Thanks for all the hard work.
"There's a new concede button? It looks like it has some form of lethal detection?"
There's no "lethal detection." That was a joke that Ben Brode made.
So, they put all these Death Knight things in to the game, but they couldn't just add a DK class?
God damn! When will people realize that the Hearthstone team will never add a death knight class?
They can't "just" add a DK class because that would require a full basic set of cards for the class as well as additions to the Classic set. They'd essentially be making one and a half sets instead of one set. Not worth the effort when this alternative exists.
Even the commons have interesting text. Almost 80% are playable. Best expansion... on paper! I have high hopes now for the new meta shift :D
Druid got the worst set of all classes. Force fed taunt druid really? The worst DK by miles and zero hard removal and no spell aoe? Good luck vs all the cards they just printed. 5 mana spawn 1/2 1/2 with poison lol ...... 3 mana gain 3 att and 3 armor ........ DK choose between bad and bad for 7 mana. Hero power? The best they could do was give druids an option 3 att or gain 3 armor rofl.
The DK is in my opinion one of the best. Why? Because you don't have to build a deck around it. Its just solid. Not interesting but very solid. And because The Lich King is a taunt minion, and with the value card at 10 mana, I think druid has got a ton of good cards. Stop crying!
I totally agree with you mate, Druid seems to be the worst DK. Gain 3 Attack or 3 Defense... Warlock's is straight up better (3 attack and 3 heal, plus you don't take face damage). Obviously 3 heal is slightly worse than 3 armor, but having both + no face damage more than makes up for it.
I think we found that card that everyone is saying is really good, but in reality is garbage tier... let the down votes commence!
The druid dk hate is mind boggling. Soon people will be wasting their board clears and hard removals on 1/2 tokens
A class that is Tier 1 every meta so far should get weaker cards. Unfortunately they didn't.
Ultimate Infestation is absolutely insane. I shouldn't need to explain this.
They have a discount N'zoth that works with a better keyword. N'zoth decks would include bad DR-Taunt minions like Chillmaw and that 2/3 garbage just to have taunts to summon. Filling your board with taunts is absolutely insane. The only reason it isn't completely broken is the fact that it got a DR instead of a BC.
Spreading Plague is extremely useful anti aggro tech. Every meta so far has been aggro in the second half at least.
Fatespinner lacks any kind of specific deck synergy, but it can be very powerful in the hands of a skilled player.
Druid of the Swarm has great flexibility which covers both aggro and control matchups.
The druid DK is fine. Because of the druids ability to ramp, if they had a more snowball affect like some of the others it would be OP. most druids are going to be playing him on turn 4-5
Changed the sort in this post to class->rarity->cost to match the way our guide looks. Looks better now :D
Death Knight tokens will be prettied up when we're able to.
