strong arena card!
Not even slightly how are you ever going to get enough different secrets in arena for this to be good?
I think you've misunderstood this card's text.
Actually is really bad in arena. Since it is epic it will be hard to draft it plus you normally get 1-3 secrets per draft and some suck. So if it sees play it has to be in constructed or a guy with an insane luck in it's draft, but drafting only secrets won't be that lucky tho...
This card is ridiculous, it's like playing a Deathwing,Dragonlord and holding 7 dragons to your hand!!! This should be nerfed in the next few weeks.
Blizzard buffs Tortollan Primalist PogChamp
Obviously worse than Mysterious Challenger. But, well, Mysterious Challenger was insane, and that was with Paladin secrets. Mage secrets are generally stronger, but they don't impact the board immediately. The threat of good ol' Who Am I? was the board presence - if you didn't sequence carefully, that 6/6 would turn into a 10/9 with a 3/2 alongside, with your Ysera sitting pretty at 1 health. If you don't sequence carefully against Mage though - erm, they might Mirror Entity something big? It's a more reactive card, but it feels too expensive to be a reactive card. Not a fan. Still, with Medivh this'd obviously be great - fills the gap nicely. And Summoning Stone is still a thing, so... yeah.
8 mana "play 15 mana worth of stuff, and thin out your deck. Sounds decent.
It does however go against EVERY existing Secret Mage tool, since they all strive to DRAW the secrets, and as early as possible.
Only really worth it with Inkmaster Solia , but still trash probably.
Unless they release a crazy good secret.
Heh, was thinking the exact same thing :) I'm glad I haven't dusted my Solia so if I am to pack this card I'll give it a try for sure. The other way to make it work is via glyph. If secret mage is running 2 it might not be a bad pick up so you can play it on curve on t6. Most likely it will end up being useless as greater arcane missiles - overcosted and not effective enough. But if at this very moment Blizz had introduced mysterious challenger level of power mage card players would probably burn their headquarters down...
Guess you've gotta play Medivh first.
and i thought blizzard had learned this wasn't a good thing whem Mysterious cocksucker made the cancer explode, well, at least now we already have eater of secrets to stand a chance.
Who is the better Card? Is it Glacial Mysteries? or is it Mysterious Challenger?
"Stop asking questions!"
Who are you?
"Who am I? None of your business."
This being a spell is a big deal for discover and other things that combo like Medivh.
Day9 will surely have a flashback to this.
At least this shit isn't playable.
its worse than mysterious challenger because you don't get a body, and i think ultimately bad, but not as bad as people are saying (or as bad as i thought when i first saw it). mage secrets for one are much better than paladin secrets (at least when mirror entity, potion of polymorph, or vapporize aren't triggered by 1/1s, or counterspell by the coin, etc). I think you technically only need to pull 2 secrets to get fair value (drawing 2 cards and thinning your deck of secrets is probably worth the 2 extra mana), but you'd obviously rather get 3 at minimum. but even the insane value proposition of 4+ secrets is still a pretty low-tempo play, as it doesn't do anything to affect the board immediately, so its pretty situational.
so, i wouldn't be surprised if it sees no play, but i also wouldn't be surprised if it's a common 1-of in secret mage (ugh)
This card is pretty bad, not just because you have to add all of those secrets to your deck, but because playing a weak minion and/or spell neutralizes most of the value you're going to get out of this, and similar to Mysterious Challenger you need two of them in a deck to get the consistence you need for it, so it isn't worth it, furthermore this doesn't have a 6/6 body to go along with the effect like Mysterious Challenger did. However, it will still be very annoying whenever you're playing a mage that gets this of Primordial Glyph and has 3-4 secrets in their deck.
