An Evil Exchange is This Week's Brawl
Kel'Thuzad and Rafaam are competing to see who the superior endboss is! Take a side and battle for evil supremacy!
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen this brawl.
- An Evil Exchange made its debut on March 23, 2016.
- Special emotes are active during the brawl, check them out!
- Kel'Thuzad's hero power has changed from the first time we saw this brawl.
- Originally, his Hero Power resurrected a random minion of his that died that game.
How it Works
- Press the Brawl button and get randomly assigned one of the heroes, Kel'Thuzad or Rafaam.
- Each boss is quite unique with brawl-only cards and feel like they're from their respective adventures.
Kel'Thuzad
- You have 60 effective health through 30 health and 30 armor.
- Your hero power is Necromancy which adds a random minion from Naxxramas to your hand.
- His deck contains cards which emulate the bosses of the Curse of Naxxramas adventure.
- Make use of his hero power early on instead of playing a minion. There's fantastic potential for value!

Kel'Thuzad's Unique Spells
Rafaam
- You have 60 health, and no armor.
- Your hero power is Staff, First Piece which adds a random rare to your hand. The rare card costs (2) less. So much value!
- Your hero power can be upgraded throughout the game through Uncover Staff Piece. We suggest using it ASAP.
- The first upgrade of your hero power, Staff, Two Pieces, adds a random epic to your hand. The epic costs (3) less.
- The second and final upgrade of your hero power, Staff of Origination, adds a random legendary to your hand. The legendary costs (4) less.
- Your first stage of the hero power is good but not necessarily worth using when you have other options in-hand, at least during the early game. Once upgraded though, it's op!
- Save any removal cards you come across to deal with Kel'Thuzad's annoying minions.

Discuss this Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread for this week's Brawl!
It does look fun in theory. Well, I'll find out about that when I get to play in the evening. :)
Won all games with Rafaam and lost all games with KT, so something seems wrong. I am by no means a good player, i just play casually now and again.
It's hard to balance them perfectly. KT does take more skill to win with, but he's not that much weaker.
They're different strategies and you failed with Kel's, that's all. Each has its' play style.
That's true but at least part of KT's strat involves hoping Rafaam doesn't get crazy cards off his hero power
I feel it too. Played 6 games as KT, won 1 because the Rafaam disconnected. Played 1 as Rafaam, won it of course.
The biggest problem for KT is the lack of board clears. You need to aggro quality minions early and hope rafeem does not have his 0 mana deal 5 dmg to all. However, I did manage to win with KT fairly easy but only because my opponent didn't draw/play a clear.
Once you lose the board as KT it is game over.
Genuinely don't see what the issue is with this brawl. For the middle section Rafaams hero power is garbage. Most epics are situational at best. I'd argue the card quality is a lot higher in kel'thuzads deck.
I don't think the brawl is as one sided as people think. If you come to this forum and decide you're going to concede instantly then yeah Rafaams going to seem superior.
Why the fuck Naxxramas don't have their original boss encounter voice lines???
First time this brawl was released they have no voice lines and now they ran a RNG to pick voice lines for them?
Easy 1st try win with Kel'Thuzad. Multiple Heigan the Uncleans thanks to Duplicate destroyed Rafaam.
It's too unbalanced, there aren't any interesting matches.
I won my second game with Kel'Thuzad, but only because I milled my opponent's staff upgrade.
Mindnumbingly slow and boring games.
Wow KT sucks in this brawl
I think there always should be stronger hero in brawl like this. If both decks packed with insane cards there won't be any challenge. But when you play for weaker hero you always should think twice before play a card, you should build your own unique strategy to win.
New cards, new mechanics, new hero powers. Good new brawl in general. Not great. Not Terrific. Just good.
Some cards design is just terrible. Portraits like Instructor Razuvious or Patchwerk should be destroyed for sure.
Why did they nerf kelthuzad 's hero power , it was already inferior to rafaam 's ..
Anyone notice that people with absolutely no idea about HS always comment in the news sections but not the forums. And the voting on posts in the news section is just completely insane - is this area over run with 12 year old boys?
i only played once and won as KT so idk what all the salt is about.
Rafaam is completely OP. Stupid Brawl
KT is not so bad, won 2/2 with him :(
