Tracking More Than 500 Wins? Coming Soon to a Hearthstone Near You
Over the years, community members have been asking if we could have Hearthstone track more than 500 wins per hero. It turns out that this will finally be coming to the game, with the limit being increased to unlimited. TRACK ALL THE WINS!
Quote from Ben BrodeWhy do you not allow players to track ranked wins past 500?
Makes it less powerful of a motivator if we add more rewards at 1k. But we decided not to do that, so we are going to add this soon.
There is no cap. Seems like my tweet may have been misinterpreted. (Source)
Adding a reward for doing a thing creates 'extrinsic motivation' do it. If I offered you X for doing Y, and you want X, you might consider doing Y.
If we offer you more rewards for reaching 1000 ranked wins, but you already have 1000 ranked wins, we aren't motivating you do anything. Our options were to cap you at 500, then unleash new rewards at 1k, giving 500 wins of progress towards a new reward, or just letting you count up from 500 now, and not adding rewards at 1k. We decided to go with latter.
I want to point out that I think adding more cosmetic rewards is generally cool. I just don't think 1000 ranked wins is a better place to put them than say, level 70, or in Ranked Chest rewards. (Source)
You should post your idea on reddit.
Thats sounds prettttyyy good. Team 5 must read that!
Craftable card backs!!! Yes!!!
Wooow some amazing suggestions here :)
This man wants to make Hearthstone Great Again, these are ideas are huge, these are the best ideas, the best, we should craft the best cardbacks, the best, north america only, and we build a wall, a paywall to keep other countries from having the best cardbacks
BLIZZ logic.
It would be cool if they added sort of Titles (like we have here for example), so you know that your opponent has 100, 500 or a 1000 wins, showcasing their proficiency with a class :)
Sure, it might not have any real value, but it would still be interesting imo...perhaps it could mean something at least in tournaments ;)
Maybe unlock new emotes at 1k? or color skins for golden characters?
I want black Malfurion, kappa 😂
YES!!
Sweeeeeeeet! :)
I think they should count Casual wins toward the golden heroes. If they did that, I would have a lot more fun. I hate facing the same brain-dead netdecks over and over again on ladder, but I feel like I have to play it to count my wins toward golden heroes. For me, Hearthstone is a fun card game, and I like to collect the cards. Even if I had the insane amounts of time to waste that it would require to actually 'go for it' and try to become world champion or whatnot, I wouldn't want to do it. Therefore, I don't care about ranking up every month. I just want to have fun playing and finish my quests each day. Casual is the best place to do that. Besides, it's not like the people in Casual are just giving up and not playing the games (which actually DOES happen on ladder sometimes as people try to rank down). Wins and losses are still wins and losses! Just count them for the heroes!
Yeah, people with no creativity make everything suck. So what? There's no reason not to count Casual wins for the golden heroes. If I win 500 games in Casual, what's so different than repeatedly winning from 20-16 and then conceding a bunch of games to get back to 20 and then start the climb again? How's that less poisonous? In point of fact, that's far worse.
Everyone says they don't care but honestly I think it matters. It might be just a psychological factor but I honestly don't want to play my golden mage and paladin anymore because I always have a feeling I'm not getting any rewards from those games or that I'm losing wins for another class.
I didnt get it. What would we recieve from this innovation?
You realize what your best class over all is, which helps many players that have lost track on how many games they have won. Just something to mentally help others.
