Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
yes, we want to purchase wild packs, but at lower prices, we had spend too much in un goro packs opening duplicates
Would love to be able to purchase older adventures.
I hope they make the cost cheaper because they can only be used in one mode
Why don't just decrease the crafting cost of wild cards by half?
"We f*cked standard so hard we realized wild was now a very profitable market, so we figured it was unfair they couldn't enjoy overpriced ( So much so that printing them on paper is way cheaper than buying them digitally, somehow ) packs too."
This is definitely a step in the right direction, so props for that. However pack prices are still too high especially with the recent increase. Wild packs need to cost less if they will be added.
If Blizzard truly wants to promote Wild to new players, price of standard packs and wild packs (in terms of both in-game gold and actual money) should be adjusted to a more affordable level. New players can hardly catch up with the standard collection, not to mention the Wild one.
They will probably wind up selling the wild adventures but without the legendaries, just to keep the need for dust crafting up. Seems silly to hand out cards like Reno or Emperor Thaurissan unless one bought them when they were standard.
Wild adventures 100% should make it back. Removing them from sale was nonsense.
Still, its kinda poitnless if packs will have same price. It would make more sense to make price super low, but decrease disenchant cost too.
Why would anyone NOT want this. You're not forced to buy them and it's more options for everyone. I see no down side......
Let me guess, was your prayer a "Call of the Wild" ? ^^
