I could see this in the Warlock Demon deck. The deck already curves pretty high and you want to draw into those super big powerful demons late. Pretty much the same premise a hunter deck could use it effectively except now you can tap into almost guaranteed quality cards in the late game.
A solid finisher for hunters. 6 mana 6/6 destroy your deck
I don't think you're computing this correctly. Shuffling a Jade Idol and playing Hemet, Jungle Hunter will essentially burn it. This is matter of fact. No shuffles means you essentially have 2x 1 mana summon a jade golem. Not too good.
I also don't think you considered the Gadgetzan Auctioneer aspect of this. Auctioneer literally hinges on playing cheap spells to get card draw going, and if you burn them all with Hemet, then Auctioneer is essentially useless.
The whole removal argument is ridiculous as well. Important spells in general are going to be erased by Hemet, Jungle Hunter. You already know the lot:
Take all those cards out, and a typical jade druid net deck literally only has Swipe and Nourish. Assuming you have a copy of each (except maybe the Jade Blossom or one of the hard removals) you will have 6+ cards in your hand, potentially burning the other copies (if any) left in your deck. Not sure how the meta will play out, but nowadays I find Wrath and Mulch to be game changers.
I don't think you also noticed the fact that Fandral Staghelm uses the majority of those cards best, and having only one choose one card in your deck (the presumed 2x Druid of the Claw) will make Fandral a weak pick. From that point, you only have the cards left in your hand, so you best pray you have a Jade Idol
You could argue that Mulch, Brann Bronzebeard and Living Roots are all rotating out of standard, but your arguments still don't make sense regardless. If you play Hemet, Jungle Hunter you
TL;DR If you play Hemet, Jungle Hunter you need to have a GOD hand that includes all of your cheap spells like jade idol and removal spells, or else you get fucked. Hemet, Jungle Hunter turns Jade Druid into Combo Druid
Edit: I calmed myself and re-read your comment. It's seeming a bit more reasonable, but it still essentially turns jade druid into a combo druid, since you literally need the right cards in your hand and a good amount of survivability. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the meta, but the deck is a concept that I'm not necessarily scared of in anyway, and it will be wp to whoever pulls it off
This might work in the new aggressive elemental shaman archetype. Play it on turn 7 with a 1 drop elemental in hand and you're almost guaranteed the curve potential that aggro shaman is seeing.
WOW. This card looks risky...but what it actually does is destroy an element of your deck that you no longer need, making all of your draws much more valuable in the later curve of the game, depending on your deck composition. Atrocious in some deck types, but could be excessively efficient if orchestrated into the right one.
I was thinking that it would fit well in a HandBuffadin deck. But that would mean you have to play your Smuggler's Run and Grimestreet Outfitter before this. Also without Aldor Peacekeeper, goodbye.
this is such a cool card. more designs like this please!!!
Should be - destroy all cards with 3 or less mana in both players decks. but that would be OP. Or gain something for destroying those cards. Would kill zoo style decks, and make the hunter quest usless. Can't really see this in lots of decks other then holy wrath Paladin or hand hold deck (handlock).
Can someone please explain this cards worth? Destroying your own cards seems like a bad idea. Not a troll post, genuinely confused.
There could be a hunter 50% secret face, 50% big minions
In my opinion we will probably not see this card in competitive play because it has such a conflicting concept.
For a control deck, you definitely don't want to destroy your cards because you would lose to other control decks by fatigue. For an aggro deck, a 6 mana 6/6 that has no direct impact on board and only starts to be effective next turn (even if you use your 4 mana left to draw a card after playing this, you won't be able to play the card drawn since it costs 4 or more). And I think this does not fit into any "combo" deck that exists so far as combo decks usually relies on playing multiple low cost cards in one turn to win.
Unless they release some other cards that support this archetype, I don't think it will be included in currently existing decks.
It could potentially work in Jade Druid as long as you have a Jade Idol in your hand. As far as combo decks go, Holy Wrath Paladin could make its debut.
But the simplest way to make this card work in your favor, is to put a few extremely good very late game cards in your deck, Alexstrasza, Ysera or Arch-Thief Rafaam in wild come to mind, and then fill the deck with low cost cards. Would manage against aggro and have decent late game too.
This card will be a sleeper card, just like Finja
This + Wrathion
6 mana 6/6 Battlecry: Accidentally Shotguns every card in your deck that costs less than 4
An example of Quest Hunter deck with Hemet, Jungle Hunter for who thinks this card is trash and a troll card.
i remember when people said patches was a shit card lol... look where it is now.
Yeah but it was not about only patches, pirate warrior was already good but noone cared about, with patches and stb and jade druid's hit everyone wanted to try that. Hemet is at a different position from Patches.
The problem with that deck is that you don't want to play Hemet, Jungle Hunter before completing the quest (unless you have enough 1 drops in your hand that for some reason you have not yet played), nor after playing the quest reward, as it would destroy all the raptors. So you would have to play it in a very small window of time (you would usually want to play Queen Carnassa asap), at all other times, not only is it useless but it literally loses you the game.
Now, the card would be pretty useful in Holy Wrath Paly for example.
