The Dark Wanderer is This Week's Tavern Brawl, and There's a Card Back Reward

Trivia

  • This is the first time we've seen this brawl - and possibly the last!
  • The brawl is a tribute to Blizzard's Diablo franchise and their 20th anniversary.
  • The brawl is a reference to the Secret Cow Level.
  • This is the second brawl which rewards a card back, the first being Winterveil of 2015.
  • No enemy players in this brawl, the opponent is a computer.

How it Works

This Brawl has up to two phases, with the second phase not being more of a bonus level than anything. You can win the Brawl without entering the second phase.

  • You'll first need to build your own deck using cards from the Wild format. Check out community-built decks here.
  • The end of game has a scoreboard which keeps track of minions killed and secrets revealed.

Phase 1 - The Dark Wanderer

Phase 2 - The Cow King

  • There is no cow level.
  • The Cow King is now your opponent. His Hero Power, So Many..., is all about card draw.
  • He has his very own deck which features cows upon cows upon cows.
  • The same random spawns from minion deaths from Phase 1 apply here.
  • Neato: You can become The Cow King if you steal Enigmatic Portal.

Dark Wanderer Secrets

The Dark Wanderer has many secrets. You are not allowed to use Flare, Kezan Mystic, and Eater of Secrets, but other secret interaction cards are available. Destroy his three secrets to enter The Cow Level.

  • Visions of the Amazon - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Battlecry, Summon a Mirror Image for both players.
  • Visions of the Assassin - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Stealth, All minions equip a dagger.
  • Visions of the Barbarian - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Charge, THUNDER FURY!
  • Visions of the Crusader - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Taunt, change all minions' attacks to 1. 
  • Visions of the Necromancer - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Deathrattle, destroy it.
  • Visions of the Sorcerer - Secret: When your opponent summons a minion with Spell Damage, Summon 2 Guardians.
  • Visions of Fate - Secret: When your opponent takes lethal damage... save him.
  • Visions of Hate - Secret: When both heroes have 15 or less Health, BRAWL!
  • Visions of Valor - Secret: When your opponent summons a Legendary minion, give all minions Windfury.
  • Visions of Knowledge - Secret: When your opponent's hand has 9 or more cards, reduce the cost of all cards in both hands to (1).

Dark Wanderer Cards

  • Lightning - Deal 3 damage.
  • Many regular Warlock cards.

The Cow King Cards

  • Summon Guardians - Summon two 2/4 Guardians.
    • Summons: Guardian - At end of your turn, deal 2 damage to the enemies opposite this minion.
  • Moo... - Summon 3 Hell Bovines. Give all Hell Bovines Taunt.
  • Stampede - Summon 2 Hell Bovines. Give all Hell Bovines Charge.
