Heroic Tavern Brawl Limit Raised to 100
Quote from AvariusGreetings! We’d like to update you on a few things related to Heroic Tavern Brawl:
- First off, we’ve raised the limit on the number of Heroic Brawls you can complete from 5 to 100. We kept the cap in place initially to keep an eye on the Brawl to ensure things were working properly for participants.
- Second, we’ve also made it so that a match that results in a draw will no longer count as loss for both players. A draw will now count as neither a win nor a loss for both players.
- Lastly, to ensure that all players have enough time to finish their Heroic Brawl runs, all entries for Heroic Brawl must be purchased before the times listed below:
- Americas – Sunday 7:00 PM PST
- Europe – Sunday 10:00 PM CET
- Asia – Sunday 10:00 PM KST
- China – Sunday 10:00 PM CST
- All active Heroic Tavern Brawls can be played until the Tavern Brawl closes for the week at the regular times below:
- Americas – Monday 3:00 AM PST
- Europe – Monday 6:00 AM CET
- Asia – Monday 6:00 AM KST
- China – Monday 6:00 AM CST
If you plan on participating, make sure you purchase your Heroic Brawl entry before the cut-off times listed above, and complete your runs before the Tavern Brawl week ends. If you have additional questions regarding Heroic Brawl, please check out our blog!
You buy things in hearthstone with amazon coins, but you can't do gold to coins. Sorry.
I think they are worried that too many people finish 5 runs too quickly so that people with open Heroic Brawl runs face the same opponent way too often or find no opponent at all.
You ever thought some people, I don't know, might actually play the brawl for fun and the challenge of it? Rather than the pure expected rewards or profit. I know playing for fun or challenge is a novel idea.
This is basically paying to play constructed, though. If you find the idea fun, you're not quite right in the head.
Cosmetic Loot crates are why overwatch has gotten several free maps, heroes and a ton of support for free instead of as paid dlc...your logic is flawed.

The blizzdrones will never change, that's for sure.
Jesus Christ the amount of people that complain about stuff for the sake of complaining about stuff is unbelievable. Blizzard came up with an idea to do a high risk high reward brawl for the hard(er)core players for one week only and all anyone can do is complain. I think this community is sometimes extremely toxic. All people can say is..
"its too expensive"
"it isn't F2P friendly"
"Blizzard are greedy"
"5 isn't enough"
"100 is too many"
"I can't get my free pack this 1 (one!!!) week"
Rather than people looking at it as a cool idea even though it may be flawed they complain but instead of complaining people should be giving positive feedback about what they want.
I understand it's quite a lot for some people I would have loved to have seen different tiers of buy in. Keeps the high risk and reward but scaled so a 100g bracket and a 500g bracket as well as 1000g bracket.
I'd also like to not have been 1 deck only and have a more tournament feel to it. It is far from perfect but it's still a cool idea that might need developing but give feedback and not faceless moaning and complaining.
As for Blizzard upping the number this is quite simple lots of people particularly streamers wanted to do the brawl more than 5 times so Blizzard upped the number. Simple as that.
As I've said before the salt police came and downvote me into oblivion, most of the complainers here are people who aren't even playing the brawl.
''I can't play it so it is utter shit!'' is the logic here.
Indeed. I thought the more competitive communities (aka Reddit and sites like Hearthpwn) would at least be a little understanding towards this brawl. Alas it seems this website is only filled with entitled babies that downvote any comment even remotely defending the Heroic Brawl. "Because I don't enjoy something I must downvote everyone who has a different opinion than me!1!!"
"Blizzard took my free game mode (that they gave to me for free!) away for ONE week so they could test something different! Waaa waaa!"
Current meta is played only because of profit. It's boring to death cuz there's nothing new for your brain. Making Heroic brawl just stole, might one interesting casual brawl. And it's build up on greedness, you can't say it isn't.
Did you just compare ranked meta to a casual brawl? You know that doesn't make sense right?
And how is this greedy? Blizzard is offering a service, people are willing to for it. That's not greed that's just how things work. Hell, Blizzard is even offering a "free" entry option in the form of gold. Yes it's "free" because you can grind gold and you don't have to spend any money on it whatsoever. I paid 1k gold, went 5-3, and just about made my "money" back. And if you go past 7 wins then you start making "profit" off Blizzard. I don't see how this is greedy at all.
All of your posts on this article are trying to silence criticism. Stop. They're not critiquing you, they're critiquing the mode/developer, which I'm guessing you have no involvement in so have no need to try and silence them other than to be a shill.
Scary stuff you're posting. Don't like their criticism for whatever really weird reason? Cool, have at it, but they can still voice their concerns to the developer.
@Broadbean By that logic, your post is trying to silence criticism of criticism. So why don't you stop? And if you don't like that perhaps (if you're one of the people he's talking about) he is critiquing you, or at least your argument, too bad; he has a point. Scary stuff you're posting (/s). Don't like his criticism for whatever really weird reason which compels you to weirdly label his posts as "weird"? (Seriously, it is weird to say his post is weird.) Cool, have at it, but he can still voice his concerns.
I think the problem with this brawl isn't that it sucks, it's that it would have been SO EASY to not make it suck that hard.
- Give MSG packs in advance ; Can't be opened, but still. I mean, seriously, who is gonna have that much gold lying around AND be able to reach 7-9 wins, but not have most WOTOG cards ?
- Give a free run to everyone so that everyone at least breaks even with the normal brawls. It could have been accompanied by lowering the rewards, I mean, at that point, no one is playing this for the rewards, really.
- In fact, they could just give a free pack to everyone for the inconvenience if you connect during the week. I mean, is it the end of the world that people don't need to win in a game mode that more often than not is pure RNG anyway, meaning it takes 2-3 games at most, to get their pack ?
- Just ban a few of the most aggravating shaman cards ? It's a brawl, it's supposed to be for some crazy ruleset, and you're not gonna make me believe shaman doesn't have ample room for losing some cards. Even if they made shaman unplayable, so what ? Maybe that could have been the challenge : Do well in a totally unknown meta because its defining trait, that Midrange Shaman dominates, isn't there anymore.
You know, it's one of those times when you're not angry at what X is, 'cause so many brawls have been "Yeah, gonna play it once for the pack, then getting the f*ck outta here" in the past, but more angry at what X could have been if it hadn't been half-assed.
Great. I was waiting till Sunday for my first Brawl, figured by then most of the 'good' players would have exceeded their limit.
I'll probably refrain from doing so now.
This brawl is so bad. It is basically pay to play constructed and hope you get lucky enough times in a row that the reward afterwards is worth it. I wish Blizzard could have been more creative with this. The worse part about this is that it is worse then actually playing constructed, because there is more on the line if you lose.
If you really can't think of another reason other that Blizzard being greedy that says more about you than Blizzard.
They raised the limit because people actually want to play the brawl more than 5 times. Streamers in particular want to see if thy can make 12 wins. Some people actually enjoy the challenge of this brawl.
If you don't that's fine, don't play it or at least give proper reasons that would actually get you to play don't just complain.
