Deck Spotlight: Let's Play Dragon Reno Mage
Stubborn_d0nkey brings us a Mage deck today which focuses on one of the fun bits of Hearthstone, Dragons, and a not-so-fun part of it assuming you're transcribing decks into a deckbuilder, Reno Jackson! We here at HearthPwn are not at all salty about Reno lists from tournaments...
D0nkey has been playing around with Dragons recently and found that with the additions of Netherspite Historian and Book Wyrm from Karazhan, Reno Mage was looking good. If you're interested, keep these things in mind:
- Reno Jackson decks aim to control the board.
- This deck provides control tools through the use of Freeze, AoE, and Hard Removal.
- There is plenty of card draw and card generation present in the deck which helps you get what you need and prevent early fatigue.
The deck may break the bank at 14000 dust, but if you've been playing the game and have gone on adventures, you should be in a good place to craft this deck. Check out the full deck guide which goes over the cards, and goes into strategy against other classes.

Though, the opponent had a perfect curve and mine was awful. But thanks for this submission :).

Dude gets to legend like everyone else, using Shaman. Then dicks around in Legend with this deck, between ranks 800 and 2000, and calls it a Legend deck.
This is the sort of deck that's really successful between ranks 20 and 10 on ladder. This deck will not get anyone to legend, not at an acceptable win rate.

Posted Oct 13, 2016 (Yogg Nerf)Hey, I'm the deck builder. I used this to get from rank 17 to 25 legend. I didn't play anything else, had some different cards in at the beginning (max two card difference) . This exact list was used from rank 6 to legend.
It's at least OK vs everything (unlike freeze mage) and I also had the bonus of it being unexpected. It was/is unknown and too many people don't really know how to play to against it. I also have a lot of experience with Reno mages, and this isn't the first Reno mage I've piloted to legend (did it in February as well), so I tend to know match ups much better than my opponent.
You don't need to be shaman to get to legend, it's enough beat shaman to get to legend.
