The Return of Anduin Wrynn
It's been quite a while since we've seen Priest being played to any rate of success in Hearthstone at all levels of play. Only the bravest of souls were taking it to tournaments (basically no one) and you couldn't go an hour without seeing a thread on the internets talking about how terrible the class was an how it was all Ben Brode's fault. (<3 Ben)
Then Purify happened and we were all thankful for this blessing Blizzard bestowed upon us. The pools of tears were endless and we waded through in hopes that the holy light would save us when it happened; People discovered Priest of the Feast is preeeettyyyy good and Onyx Bishop has a place at least for now.
If you're the slightly bit interested in Priest, you must see the revelation that is Resurrect Priest. Now, will this be the start of Anduin making his comeback or will we not even consider this gimmick a couple of weeks down the line?
How Resurrect Priest Works
Resurrecting your minions as Priest has been around since the Blackrock Mountain days thanks to the Resurrect spell, although the card was seldom used within Constructed play. The most notable deck that used the spell in the past was Kolento's Miracle Priest.
Thanks to this beauty and the lovable Injured Blademaster, you can get into some pretty crazy stuff!
The Resurrection Gang
You will be bringing back minions from the dead! All the targets in your deck are mid to late game minions so that RNG won't screw us over but that won't matter, we're going to try to get these cards used after Injured Blademaster dies.
- Resurrect - Only two mana, what a deal! Playable early on after your Blademaster has been slain or in combination with another card later into the game thanks to the low cost.
- Onyx Bishop - The guaranteed 3/4 body that brings a friend along with it. A great way to get some board presence after your first Blademaster has been slain.
The Darkness of Heals
We've got a few options for heals in the deck and thanks to Auchenai Soulpriest.
- Flash Heal - Heals up those Blademasters easily on the cheap or can take out beefy minions. Also useful on yourself if you've received large injuries but try to heal yourself back through other means first.
- Circle of Healing - Full heal the board in a pinch or decimate everything, it just depends on what you need.
- Priest of the Feast - Heal yourself from some of that damage you took earlier while healing/buffing up friendlies or annoying your opponent.
Clearing the Board
- The famous Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing combo is here to save the day.
- Excavated Evil is an awesome backup which deals less damage overall at the cost of an extra mana but is better than Holy Nova at clear and should get rid of any aggro minions with ease.

Yeah I'm agree with You. This deck is a JOKE. RNG draw kill all possibility to play well. Is just a smokescreen from Brode after all critics to Karazhan in general and Priest card in particular. Brode still try to "buy" opinion from some HS players, but real Priest players and HS pro Youtubers know this heroe is dead on HS meta.
The vast majority of the community owes the Hearthstone developers a apology concerning all their crying over Priest and to finally admit you know nothing. :)
There are two things wrong with this:
1. Much of the Priest outcry was specifically aimed at Purify, which is still an almost comically horrible card. Honestly. I'd laugh about it if this was an isolated incident. The sad fact though is that Purify is representative of a larger trend.
2. Priest gets one marginally--marginally--viable build, and you believe that we owe the devs an apology? That's some twisted logic you're living by there buddy. Every other class has at least a few viable builds. The fact that Priest now has one shouldn't be considered an accomplishment for the devs, so much as a source of continued embarrassment.
Sorry Bellumvico. HS developers team don't deserv an apology. Priest still sucks and this deck don't work. Is just a joke. Not tempo, not value, sorry but maybe You don't know nothing about how Priest play in HS and what he needs.
Wonder if Camel or Leeroy are good techs to put this down. hungry dragon type stuff is the idea
problem with priest is the same as with Ramp Druid.
Difference is Ramp druid has slightly more reliable removals (not depending on condition or combo)... And more importantly ramp druid is a build out of many for the same class, while priest is a whole class.
It doesn't matter how many heals Priest gets. What it lacks is a reliable early game via spells.
Exactly, Priest don't need more stoopids heals, needs tempo between 2-5 turn. Priest don't needs combos, needs good 2-3-4 mana cristal minions to control field.
Oh no, games that take longer than 3 minutes...Maybe the face shamans won't be able to handle it and will quit hearthstone :)
Should name the article "Anduin, Resurrected"
^ This. haha here's my like :D
I don't enjoy Auchenai Soulpriest or Wild Pyromancer in my resurrekt priest. I have been making an alternative without that. I also explain why on the deck page if you are going to ask why. :)
My list looks like this:
So yep, Rogue is officially the new worst class in constructed.
I've been having really good success with my tempo N'zoth rogue deck. It may be because of the surprise factor, but swashburgler is really good. The quality of the cards of got is really high. The best examples are malkorok into doom hammer with heroic strike against warrior, and two of the 4 cost swords (name is leaving me rn) and 4 forbidden healing against pally
how? If Priest is played, Rogue is automatically going to shag it
I'm doing very well with Reno N'zoth Rogue this season. After you shadow cast reno, and then shadowstep the 1-1 reno a few turns later, the hunters usually just concede :)
*note: on days when the meta is 80% shamen, I switch to a different deck.
Waiting for that Purifyso we can be even more sick!
Yea... you should start Hexing Priest of the Feast too, so Hex everything summoned by Priest.
It will be interesting to see how the new Priest decks fare when the meta responds to them.
