When asked about improving the grind to Legend, Ben Brode responded stating that the team has been discussing it recently.

Deck Spotlight: Wings' Budget C'Thun Priest

WingsOfWaxIII returns with another deck in the budget decks series and this time, we've got some priest love - WingsOfWax's C'Thun Priest. This deck has been piloted up at Rank 4 and 3, how far can you take it? Wings explains the perks of playing this deck:

Has a solid plan versus Aggro decks with Life Gain, Board Clears, and Minions to trade with.
Has a plan versus Control decks with Thoughtsteal, Entombs, and C'Thun.
Can stabilize the board and your life total reasonably well.
Get to cast a bomb minion (C'Thun) that wins the game (most of the time) on the spot.

Blizzard announced details today about the up and coming Summer Hearthstone Championship Tour including all the awesome and important dates. We can't wait to watch some more awesome competitive Hearthstone - mark those calendars!

I really hope the ladder changes happen sooner rather than later. The only times I've been able to grind to legend are when I have a break from work. Nowadays, I just get to rank 5 because I don't have the time to get to legend within the month because they shove us all back to rank 16 at the beginning of the season.

Priest is garbage useing combo to survive, while others they do combo to've beaten. If you have another opinion deal with this card without combo or wasting your turn with entomb or holy fire.

All minions with 4 attack and 4 or higher health - Call of the Wild - conceal - crazy yogg.

Never got legend. It's pretty easy get to rank 5, but from then on it's just a grindfest. The further I had patience to get was rank 2, beating firebat. It's not like I'm not able to play on pro level and beat them sometimes, I just don't have the patience to get where they are. And I get the same reward for rank 5 or rank legend, so... yeah.

I reached legend a few times, but most of the times i reach 5 and switch my mind, stop taking the rank seriosly. I may reach rank 4, or rank 2, but it is just by inertia. Legend push is tiring, not because of the time, but because of the concentration and "seriousness" that you must play to do it.

Anyway, back to the topic. When I read the twitter conversation, the OP asking Brode seems to be just whining. "I want to play competitive but right now it is impossible to be top100 in my server without playing a lot, and i think reaching legend would be easier/faster".

This is full nonsensical shit. If you really have the level to be top100 you don't care about the grinding at all, because you can do it in the first week of season. If you really think the grinding is way too hard, you don't have the level to be in this top100. You're fooling yourself thinking that the problem lies in the ladder system. It is not there.

For my part, I really enjoy this shorter seasons with kind of a hard reset, I don't think the ladder should be changed, and of course not for competitive purposes, because in a competitive level it works ok. Maybe adding kind of a "last year regularity ranking" like the ATP (Tennis) uses, but that's not really changing the ladder system, but building a new layer of info with the data Blizz already have (best rank of a player at the end of the last 12 seasons, # of times in top100 legend in the last 12 seasons, etc.).

You're right. I do admit that it feels a bit frustrating knowing I can get legend (or at least I think I could), even if not by week one, but just won't because there is no bonus star after 5. It feels like a huge speedbump. I don't know. Maybe with more ranks and no end to bonus stars it would feel better for me, but I have no idea if that would work... so, meh. Maybe someday they change it a bit.

It's not too bad actually. If you're able to get 2 or 3 cards from Northshire Cleric during the game, you should be good to go. I was able to beat a few zoo decks with this deck.

3 cards out of a cleric is insane value. How many times do you manage to get that?

Really, C'Thun priest is the less crappy priest deck out there, yet it is unplayable right now.
