Card Clarifications
Quote from @PlayHearthstoneIf Y'Shaarj pulls out Ragnaros at the end of the turn, will Ragnaros's effect also activate or will it "miss the timing?"
Ragnaros' effect will not activate, nor will other similar effects. (Source)With Ancient Harbinger, will it pull a card that has a base cost of 10, or a current cost of 10? I'm thinking of giants
It will draw based off of the base cost of the card. (Source)So it [Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound] doesn’t say random. Do you get to choose?
It is random, you do not get to choose. (Source)
Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound Reveal Blog
Quote from AvariusAncient evils have woken from their ageless slumber to stretch their tentacles and spread mayhem amongst mortals in Hearthstone’s newest expansion: Whispers of the Old Gods! Now it’s time to dig a little deeper, and find out more about the minds behind the tentacles.
This week, we explore a wickedly powerful Old God, Y’Shaarj (pronounced YAH-sha-raj), who teaches us that seven heads are better than one.
Grumpy Old Y’Shaarj
The biggest Old God on the block, Y’Shaarj was once the head of the largest empire to ever grip the face of Azeroth. This magnificently malignant entity had a real head for the political game, and raised armies of hideously devoted servants to do its bidding. Even the other Old Gods were impressed! But even with such great power—not to mention a swanky temple city—Y’Shaarj still had some anger issues. Who wouldn’t be miffed after having pieces of yourself strewn about everywhere, while scruffy little mortals panda-handled your heart? These truly heart-wrenching events in Y’Shaarj’s past are why the moody Old God tends to be the death of the party. Its (last) terrible breath* doesn’t just clear rooms—it clears whole continents! Despite appalling personal hygiene, Y’Shaarj has a way of clutching hearts and changing minds; even the most willful of beings cannot resist following it onto the battlefield.
Mark of Y’Shaarj
What Druid minion wouldn’t want to be branded by the most powerful Old God OF ALL TIME?! Y’Shaarj can’t wait to unveil its Spring collection. Beauty is pain, but at least they’ll look really, really, really ridiculously evil looking in this tasteful ensemble of eyeballs and tentacles. Unbearably fetching!
Ancient Harbinger
Old Gods, like Y’Shaarj, enjoy arriving in terrifying style, and no one portends their ominous appearance quite like the Ancient Harbinger. This super cultist specializes in beckoning only the mightiest of Tavern denizens. Mere mortals must wait in line to join the party, but the Ancient Harbinger ensures that the Old Gods receive the VIP** treatment they deserve.
We hope you enjoyed bearing witness to Y’Shaarj’s boundless power. There’s one more Old God lurking in the dark, so remain agog for the Yogg blog (and card reveals)!

cool
I like cabalist's tome. Very good card.
So bad, boring and lame for the 7 headed unique and strongest Old God.
Nozdormu new art is better than the original one!
Whaaat? Is this a Aprils fools joke ?
Blizzard are confusing me how do we make old Gods decks now??
Welp, making a full old god deck sounds bad now, if Y'shaarj summons the others from you deck, their battlecries don't set off...
"Is it random or do you get to choose?" Wow, stupid question much? This is HEARTHSTONE, EVERYTHING is random, especially when it happens outside the bounds of your normal turn.
half-assed golden animation. the tentacles above his head should be moving.
I was expecting something else from Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, maybe summon a Sha of something. The other 2 Old Gods have cool effects, this one...way to similar with Varian Wrynn
where're the Sha! I've been waiting for them!
Hey that's fun. My tweet about the interaction between Harbinger and Giants made this post haha
[card]Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound[/card] = Varian Wrynn 2.0 (might see a very little play in early weeks)
[card]Ancient Harbinger[/card] is tool for old god builded decks, but question is are stats good enough
Cabalist's Tome! get THREE Cabalist's Tomes!
I think the card would have been more interesting if the effect had something to do with the Sha. Either a deathrattle that summoned a random Sha onto the battlefield (Anger, Pride, Fear, etc) or maybe any time Y'Shaarj was damaged he'd summon a Sha.
Would have been far more flavorful and epic. I don't hate the card but that it punishes mechanics like battlecries and the druid's "choose one" is ridiculous. Maybe keep the effect but make it Discover where you can choose from three minions in your deck and the one you choose costs zero mana. Bit of bummer :/
So it [Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound] doesn’t say random. Do you get to choose?
lol'd.
I still can't believe people ask "Do you get to choose? Do you get to choose?" The only time you get to choose is if it's a spell or if it's a battlecry.
Wow! That golden art Y'Shaarj, amazing!
I don't think i've ever been mad at blizzard for a card they made before now. Not even the obviously overpowered ones. Y'Shaarj was probably the old god i was looking forward to the most. The thing is, this card is not even worthy of the title of being an old god. It is complete and utter garbage and has the most boring effect i've probably ever seen on any legendary... ever. Have blizzard really become this lazy? One of the four cards in the set that are supposed to be really unique and interesting is quite frankly really underwhelming. I really do hope they give us some synergy cards for this guy (like they do with c'thun).
