Two Expansions and One Adventure Per Year
Polygon recapped their trip to Blizzard a few months ago to discuss the Standard format alongside other community members. We've recapped the important parts below!
Quote from Blizzard
- No longer will set releases alternate between adventure and expansion.
- We will see two expansions per year (start and end) and one adventure (middle). At least for now.
- Ancient of Lore and Keeper of the Grove "maybe those aren't the right choices" - Mike Donais
- Leper Gnome and Knife Juggler are two neutral minions being looked at.
- The move to Standard may be a bit early, but they don't want to get to the point where it feels impossible to catch up.
- Wild was originally going to be known as Legacy but Brian Kibler urged them to make it more Warcrafty.
- Adventures could potentially come back out of "the vault" much like Disney's movies do. (Idea is not mature)
Well, sometime between 1 1/3 and 2 years (depending on the release times).
look at how many cards from gvg are played compared to loe. no way are gvg packs a better bang for the buck.
@Mayani
Read the article he's saying those are NOT the right choices for nerfs and then talk about the combo.
He's is saying those were his picks, but maybe not the right choices. Then Strifecro talks about combo.
Too bad, I prefer Adventures over Expansions since they aren't as random and as expensive as Expansions while also providing a short and entertaining Single-Player campaign.
They have stated they were looking at nerfing "more than 2 but less than 20" cards. Considering only two cards were actually mentioned in the article as being actively looked at (Leper + Juggler), I definitely think it's safe to say additional cards like FoN + SR is not off the table.
Also, Blizzard also stated they were looking at Druid basic cards. Neither of those are Druid cards :D
