What's Senior Game Designer Ben Brode Playing?
Hearthstone's Senior Game Designer Ben Brode tweeted out earlier that he's been messing around with Noxious' Resurect Priest.
Quote from Ben BrodeFind any cool new decks that you've enjoyed messing around with recently? :D

Deck Shuffling
An interesting tweet from Ben Brode confirmed that your deck gets reshuffled when cards are inserted into your deck. Neat!
Quote from Ben BrodeBen Brode implied recently that Forgotten Torch shuffles the deck. Why? How does the server store decks? Are they ordered?
Yep, they are ordered. So when a card is "shuffled into the deck" it actually reshuffles the whole deck? It doesn't just insert it into a random position?
Correct.
How Good is Curse of Rafaam?
Kripparrian has quite a bit to say on Curse of Rafaam, the new Warlock card added in League of Explorers. Check out his video on it below which includes gameplay and while you're at it, let us know what you think of Curse of Rafaam in the comments.
You can find some decks on our site which contain Curse of Rafaam on our deck search page.
Keep up the good work, Hearthpwn!
I love this deck - it is an absolute blast to play. Especially against Patron Warriors when you Lightbomb orExcavated Evil their entire board. Keep [card]Mass Dispel[card] against Secret Paladin and they go down as well. Nexus is the only part I am still unsure of: as fun as he is, I rarely get anything useful from him.
I love that Noxious deck :)
If I understand the concept behind Curse of Rafaam correctly than it seems like it was designed as an anti tempo card forcing your opponent to go off curve to avoid a penalty. But for that to work the penalty has to be more severe or the mana cost the opponent has to pay be higher. I would probably make it 3 or 4 mana for the opponent to get rid of so it actually is anti tempo instead of just being a bad 1 for 1. I hope they learn from this card and expand on this idea in further expansions because I think these curse cards could be a fun new archetype if given the proper treatment.
I think increasing the cost of removing the curse would be a bit much. That would make it almost an auto-win if it could potentially make you skip your turn 3/4. Instead I think increasing the per turn damage to 3 would have greater impact. At least then it's on par with most 2 mana deal 3 damage spells and it's just a little harder to ignore. It would still probably be pretty bad though.
Play it turn 7 with Loatheb, then blam! You've really screwed with them.
I thought Ben would play Anyfin or Secret Paladin lol
That information regarding deck shuffling is at somepoint interesting and opens more subjects to be discussed.
seems like in every PriestDeck just to outlast your Opponent
Ben Brode, that net-decker ^^
Ben Brode, the guy who don't know his own cards, is playing this game with a fun deck vs. all his serious tryhard stuff? Why don't he get it how dumb and unbalanced some cards are? Mr. Senior Game Designer ...
Curse of rafaam is kinda garbage by comparing to bluegil warrior really.. The pros is that it bypasses taunt and survives aoe.. But really bluegill is better I guess.. And a 2 mana minion is better at dealing face dmg.
Neither card is really that good but it does illustrate just how bad Curse of Rafaam really is. It's only ever viable in a face deck for a little extra damage and seeing if your opponent will take the tempo hit in removing the curse over playing the board. Likeabawse1925 notes as much in his deck which to date is the only one I know of in constructed to successfully run the card.
Here's his deck list:
As for arena the card is probably one of the worst possible picks. Arena is all about tempo/board control and the curse is a huge tempo loss. Seriously almost anything else is better than this card in arena.
Kripparrian's videos have been dull for a long while now. There is so little effort put into them. Most of the time, he doesn't even showcase the card he's highlighting properly. He just pulls some game from his last stream where it happened to be used, and then not even used well (or poorly, however the case may be). Could you ask him to just title all future videos "How good was last night's stream?" That's a more accurate description of the lazy garbage he releases now.
Maybe Curse could partner with people who put effort into their content. Contact that Kibler guy.
Agree, If im not mistaken, around last week he also published a video where he played only 1 game, and he lost...
Surely it shouldn't matter whether a deck is reshuffled upon a card being inserted, or whether the card is simply inserted in a random position?
I mean, unless there's a bug in the shuffler, bug in the random insertion, or bug that allows information leakage regarding the state of the deck.
I think it's more for future reference, in case a card ever comes out that puts a card at the bottom of your deck or allows a player to rearrange their deck in a certain way.
True, and that makes me wonder what they might have planned.
