League of Explorers - Wing 1 Boss Info

The League of Explorers, Hearthstone's third Adventure, launches tomorrow and although we don't know the exact release time of it, we can certainly check out what we're going to be up against!

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read on! The information below on the first wing bosses can be helpful in the creation of decks to combat them quickly if you're aiming to beat all your friends, and the ladder, to the new cards.

Boss Abilities

Each fight has different specific cards assigned to them. Unfortunately, we won't know all the details going in, but at least you can get a glimpse of some of the mechanics we'll be playing against for each fight to help tune your initial decks.


Zinaar's Hero Power is Djinn’s Intuition (Heroic). He can draw an extra card each turn, but in return, you're going to get a Wish. All of the possible wishes can be found below.


This fight has a unique mechanic which states the controller of the Rod of the Sun is immune. You're going to have to kill the rod in order to start attacking him. It is assumed you could completely remove the rod from play via silence and then by killing it.

On Heroic difficulty, his hero power, Blessings of the Sun, instead states that only he becomes immune when he controls it, so its no longer possible for you to gain any benefit from it. Additionally, there is a buff called Heroic Mode, which it looks like the Rod itself gets if Phaerix is in control of it which grants in +3/+3.


Temple Escape is quite the fight. Loads of cards which make an appearance and almost every one has a Heroic counterpart. The fight requires you to beat it in a set amount of turns (10 for Normal) by simply surviving the onslaught.

The Hero Power for the temple is Escape! (Heroic) which places seemingly random minions on the field in addition to the obstacle cards below.


Darning of Socks - Finalist Voting

This week's Card Design Competition theme was all about filling in Hearthstone's gaps. Every class is missing a spell at this mana cost or a minion at that mana cost, and creators were tasked with showing us cards that patch up those holes. Which entries find a place in your heart, and which ones are less than seamless?

The League of Explorers hype is absolutely real, and we have a Special Edition Card Design Competition where users have been exploring the game mechanics that the new Adventure has introduced or expanded upon.
