They've had this date planned since the July announcement so I have to ask... Why wait until 5 days before it's released to give the date?
because they want money are more 5-day pre-order ....
LOL, look im not calling you dumb, but you clearly know nothing about business. If you dont think they clearly hid the date until now so they couldnt maximize on profits, you know incredibly mind-numbingly little about business practice against a mass community as a whole.
They knew when they were gonna release it (last week in August), and they slowly leaked cards, and all on-purpose.
Blizzard is generally a "good-guy" company, but in the end its a company and they always care about maximizing the bottom line. Don't fool yourself for a second.
I don't feel wrong or that the company was out for my money. And I stated I personally feel they are a "good guy" company. And what I meant by that is that they do care about their product (*cough* except maybe diablo), but I clarified that they are a business. A business has to be profitable for it to stay around, they have to have a bottom line. There is no way around that, and they need to maximize that with every single oppurtunity they can. I didn't group them into a hive mind, I think their are very passionate and talented people who work at Blizzard. Each with their own story and life, but when you look at what will make you the most money vs what will make you ok money, there is a very psychological aspect to releasing information to the mass public.
I understand your arguement on the fact that they didnt release the date, simply because they didnt want to dissapoint if it fell short. I do see the truth in that, that makes sense to me. However, I feel that is not the case. I feel Blizzard knows very well what the next expansion, or two, or three, will be and have already made headway on it. They have shown this in many of their other franchises, and even at point bragged about it (see World of Warcraft Expansion Releases).
I understand the need to push back for bugs, but I also understand market advertising and this is by-the-book how to get people hyped. Look at music, your favorite artist is going to drop an album next month. So during the month when its going to drop, they release singles (card previews) this is to hype you up. Its the middle of the month now, you think surely they have to release it, they said sometime this month. They hit you with 3 singles off the album the day before popular release day (Tuesdays). SURELY THIS IS IT!? Nope they hit you with its coming out the very last week.
Youre mad, sure. But you want that album even more. Maybe now you pre-order it. Its simple business marketing imo.
hell, its about damn time!
Noice
Sounds fun, I hope someone can make a new broken deck and get legendary with it before we know what hit us.
that garbage ... why not throw in September? say they will release in August but there pro ¬ ¬ end .... fills the people of expectation .... I'm glad you did not buy the pack of 50 ..... joining GOLD by then I'll be with 6000 gold!
I was wating for the official announcement, thanks Blizzard!!
Will there be 3 free TGT packs like there were 3 free GVG packs in GVG? IT would be really cool :)
Let's hope so,but if we look back at Naxx, the first wing was free;when the BRM was released,no free wing. With GvG ,3 free packs;with TGT... But let's keep the hope alive!!
They shouldn't give anything away for free.
Because America?
Nothing datamined says this is going to happen, so I highly doubt it.
I think we already knew that. But now it's official =D
Finally announcement :D
Finally a release date! As much as everyone is ragging on all the cards, I'm still excited for the expansion and see what changes it makes. It'll be fun to build some new decks.
