    I love the 2nd and 3rd challenges since you can show off much more of the class without the restrictions on the Basic set. I assume that those submissions may be changed somewhat once their respective sets come around? Also, I imagine the Pokémon submission (which I'm sure no one saw coming!) could be a spell or weapon instead of a minion?

    Same, I've been making a few ideas and looking at the basic cards for the real classes for some guidelines. I'm nervous because my page has quite a few great submissions. Does anyone know how many valid entries will make it to the next phase?

    I like the theme and hero power. For Dragon Flight, write it out as "two 2/2 Whelps" to make it easier to read. Also you don't need the (+2 Attack and +2 Health) part on Rapid Growth. For the third card, definately one of the cards affected by having a Whelp in the deck, as that is an interesting synergy. Either Violet Dragon or Rapid Growth, imo.

     MY Class is a Necromancer based class (drawing a lot of inspiration from the Guild Wars style of Necromancers that can function more as front-line dark spellswords than necessarily the typical liches) with a general focus on delayed interaction, minion restoration/sacrifice and curses. The reason why I had Mark of Pain down as a -1 Health is that I was slightly concerned that having it much higher would be potentially unbalanced, given I view -1 Health to be more powerful than just 1 damage, especially as it ignores on damage effects such as Acolyte of Pain and Gurubashi Beserker as well as being a more direct counter to Enrage creatures.
     I like the idea of a spell sword Necromancer, so long as it remains somewhat different from Death Knights. What you said is true, -1 Health is more versatile than just 1 damage. However, the number of times when they would be used differently is very few. Enrage isn't a common mechanic and only a few classes really use on damage effects. Even besides that, spending 2 mana to generate the token and 1 mana to then give the -1 Health still seems really weak. Could it give -1/-1? Or "Give a minion -2 Health (but not less than 1)"? Or a one turn only effect? Just a few ideas.

    I agree with both counts. Wall of Fire is cool but it makes tokens so it won't fit. The first Hero Power is my favorite. You still get nothing when it's played, but once your opponent gets it it will screw up their tempo but not completely ruin their draw. They could also use that same Mana Leak for (2) with the cost increas to draw a card.

    The Shadow Hunter looks cool but I'm afraid of the Hero Power. Early game it leads to an easy way to protect aggressive minions that is hard to counter. It also can mess with your opponent's tempo which might be too much that early. I really like the idea ... but I think it needs rethinking to stay balanced.

    I love the cards you suggested and that you went with spell cost reduction instead of spell damage.  It seems like a cool class with interesting synergies. It can also lead to interesting decks focusing on specific commons at different mana costs. My only concern is how Personal Trainer works. If it buffs a Common minion is that minion getting several +1/+1 buffs? If so you might need to reduce the Trainer's stats. If it only gets the +1/+1 once no matter what, then it's perfect.

     Neat ideas. That legendary is super intense! I think it's balanced, none of the death knight classes have means of ramping temporary mana to play it early, so you're likely to only hit 1 to 3 minions with it. Could be a really solid counter for theGolden Monkey.

    The Common is a neat idea, but I'd change to the wording to use "Whenever", which is the standard language to indicate something can happen a bunch of times. "Whenever you damage a character with a weapon or hero power, Freeze it." or something like that.

    The rare is super boring. A lot of people are posting these as their rares. And while I like the consistency of having a Discover card for the rare, I think this design is a bad one. Imagine discovering a Lotus Agents or Kabal Courier with it, then picking up some card outside the Deathknight tri-class. Not very flavorful.
    Thanks! The wording for the common is weird since Mage isn't a weapon class but I didn't want to exclude them. They've been wanting a freezing Hero Power forever. The rare I've been going back and forth with. It is super boring, but it's exactly what blizz did. I'll probably make it another variation of Freeze, since there aren't really any Freeze cards for Paladin to discover.

    For the background question, I don't see why not. Its flavor that can help add interest but has nothing to do with the balance or gameplay of the class.

    This is an interesting week. The challenge is complex, but the overall theme can be fairly straight forward. After overthinking it for a while, I tried to think a single theme that can unite three classes together. So I picked control for Mages, Paladins, and Shaman. Being linked together under the Death Knight 'faction' I linked control to stalling, and then to Freezing. So heere's my quick ideas. The legendary is the most 'hand attacking' thing I would probably vote for.

    They don't have to be lore correct as long as they ft the general themes. The cards we are making will be with neutral backgrounds but for all intents and purposes they are 'factions' like Grimy Goons, except they are named after another Warcraft class. 
     Named in what way, and how would that be determinated, via art, named by lore or a need to mention a lore aspect inside of the card it self? 
    ...what? No. The names Deathknight, Monk, and Demon Hunter are 3 classes from WoW that are not in Hearthstone. They are the 'factions' we are basing out submissions off of as told in this week's challenge. Pick one, look up some details about it, create a unique theme (like goon gives bonuses to minions in your hand), and make 3 cards. The theme and the 3 cards would need to fit the faction identity and the general themes of the 3 Hearthstone classes within that faction (Deathknight = Paladin, Mage, Shaman).

    Here are some general themes of the three classes for those who know less about lore.

    Deathknight - Ice, blood, disease, necromancy, commanding others, emotionless

    Monk (which I know the least) - balance, harmony, support, healing, martial arts

    Demon Hunter - Aggressive, destructive, self sacrificing, steals powers, emotional, fire, corruptive
