Of course, aggro is going to be strong since it's going to take some time refining the slow old gods decks. Eventually, slow may be the case, but right now in a new, unstable meta, face may in fact... be the place (for now).
I think what really happened, is this guy's friends uninstalled because he told them to blow their dust on handlock and combo druid, instead of way cheaper options, and now he;s mad his advice has blown up in their faces
As you can imagine, not everyone agreed with the card nerfs in preparation with standard. Besides the usual salt of "Omg i can't believe they killed decks X Y and Z." There is a larger problem among the free play community. Being free to play is a high percentage of the hearthstone community. Whether you are just starting out or dedicated to being FTP the deck choices you could competitively make were limited to Oil Rogue, Handlock, and Druid combo, which were the cheapest decks to invest in and needed often only Emperor to run. These are the most common starter decks. Now my friends with these decks have uninstalled due to their decks not being playable any more, and for new players it isn't an easy option to build another deck. Mostly this patch have just really hurt FTP and new players the worst.
I have all the expansions myself, but seeing 6+ people on my friends list no longer have decks and become uninterested just doesnt seem good for the game
Handlock is an F2P deck? Ok, sorry but you and your friends need to L2P. Your friends should be playing aggro pally, face hunter/shaman or zoolock... way cheaper to craft/farm.
Also, you can't yet complain about the new patch hurting new players (aside from hurting their "perception of what could happen", as there is no telling what will be viable).
Plus plus, any true F2P player will be getting good dust from the nerfs and if wise, use that dust for a C'Thun deck (aka, the F2P handout legendary made to precisely benefit the F2P & new players the most).
Hmm,. not going to risk opening packs... what if you open a golden legend, then immediately crashes, and you come back and the card is not there? It could happen, right? I've had it freeze up after an arena run and got no rewards, so not even going to risk the headaches of sifting through this lag, and then potentially risking losing a pack or some cards.
I don't think these strangers on my list somehow conspired together to seem genuinely upset and I honestly don't know what they'd have to gain from it.
No, but the ones who claimed they've opened packs are full of it. Not openable until 10:30am PST
I'm a Druid player and i can't give two shits about the nerfs. I hated combo anyway and all of the nerfed cards deserved it. On the other hand i'm playing the shit out of C'Thun druid. The curve is amazing, a lot of good taunt minions, and is the playstyle that made me fall in love with the class.
Absolutely. Any time I play Druid I try to play a non-midrange combo deck until I get a Midrange mirror 3 games in a row then switch. Even then it's just race to see who can draw combo first and even when I win it's stressful. I can't wait to mess around with weird Beast/C'thun synergy decks and actually have a decent time playing. That is until the deck archetypes form a week after launch and we're all complaining about something else.
Agreed. Looking forward to new druid decks, and I've always liked the druid class. From a lore perspective, the options seem more congruent as well, instead of "charging treants & savage roaring' piloted shredders", which I always scratched my head over (although savage roar'ing mechs is still possible in wild... odd, but can't have it all I guess)

If you got Yogg Saron, make a tempo-style mage, throw in Yogg and have fun!
Otherwise, just use the deck recipes as a guide, or be creative like the rest of us.
Don't worry too much, we are all in the same boat. In the end, it's a game, have fun!

Deathwing was first, Hogger second.
This was 57 packs, so not bad. 11 epics (of course 2 were tentacles for arms, and 2 scaled nightmare), and 1 golden epic (shadowcaster, cool art).
I guess I'm playing dragon decks for now? heh

RIP Face hunter?
ok, good, finally.
But, I'm sure face decks will find a way. Until then, smorc tears are hilarious
