Didn't feel the need to comment on much of the card dump - but need to comment on this. What absolute trash! Giving up a coin for a single health?

    As a 3/4 it would be a maybe-but-probably-not, as a 3/3 it's just the trashiest of trash.

I don't think this is enough to make treant druid a thing (even if Mulchmuncher or whatever it's called is waiting in the wings), but it does have some nifty little stuff. It's not worth running Force of Nature for it (imo), but that would be 2 cards and 10 mana for 19/19 across 3 bodies.

Landscaping is actually a half decent card that just doesn't have a home yet, but this and that would be a 2 card, 8 mana combo for 14/14 in stats across 3.

If token druid rears its head again Soul of the Forest makes tokens that this could make huge.

And in wild, if you Poison Seeds you can use this to make your board much bigger than your opponent's (though Starfall is probably still the better comboer).

4/6 for 5 is pretty fair in stats, so 4/6 for 6 with pseudo-drawing 1+ cards (I mean, unless you're up against it you aren't just going to drop it without it getting you at least one spell back) is pretty good. Anything more than 1 and you're at pre-nerf Ancient of Lore levels (for 1 less mana), which is fantastic. And while we've had other cards around or better than pre-nerf Ancient of Lore before (Curator, Ashmore, Fight Promotor, Wrathion) this is arguably the one that requires the least build around and should be the most consistent.

Considering that the new shaman discover-a-spell spell makes it very easy to cast at least 2 spells in a turn, getting 2 cards shouldn't be too hard at all. I could see a lot of decks running this. Hell, elemental shaman could run this; Earthen Might is a pretty good card to get an extra copy of (and cheap to play on the turn before, so 1 other spell and you're getting huge value off a 5 drop).

Just an all-around very good card.

It's really good, of course, but having played a lot of spell hunter over the past year would this replace Deathstalker? Better battlecry, worse hero power, though that battlecry will be huge value if you can set it up right.

That said, after rotation if the deck can survive its other lost cards this would be an auto-include.

You can't ignore 0 cost spells, but I wonder how many decks would prefer to run this over Circle of Healing.

Very interesting. It feels like there could well be combo potential with a card like this.

The first one I thought of would be Mecha'thun. Hard control warlock plays Mechathun earlier in the game (and only 2 other deathrattles max), then once their deck and hands are empty, drop this + Doom Pact. The obvious issue with that is that any hard control warlock is going to, at the very least, be running 2x Doomlord and Bloodreaver, so there's never going to be a guarantee of hitting C'Thun. Next!

Hadronox druid, perhaps? Amazingly powerful deathrattle, but unfortuantely the issue on that end is that the Carnivorous Cube deathrattle is useless. Having said that, you only care about getting one Hadronox deathrattle, and with how many you try to spawn during the match it's likely to come up.

Also in druid, it could be a cute bigger Astral Tiger. I don't think that's very good, you're not going to be super happy playing an 8/5 for 8 each turn, but it could make for a fun build.

Sherazin is pretty cool. Late game could be tough to have 4 cards in hand, but getting a free 8/5 after playing them is nice (and a 5/3, assuming you still have the Sherazin out).

Ultimately there could be some fun ideas built around it - and you could do much worse than just putting it in a deck that already contains some good/great deathrattles (ie. deathrattle hunter, quest priest).

Decent in arena, way too vanilla (and not OP vanilla) to be seen in constructed.

Actually pretty decent. It's a 2 mana more expensive version of a minion, but when you can do stuff like turn 10 Lich King + this, that's quite solid.

I'll have to mess around with it in wild; seems like it'd be great in a quest deck that includes Emp and N'Zoth (with a single tick you can N'Zoth + this one the same turn).

posted a message on New Warrior Legendary - Akali, the Rhino

This is actually pretty awesome IMO, if any form of control warrior can make it to tier 2+ (personally I've had success on ladder with a control shell that includes the rush package, plus Dr Boom and Omega Assembly, as well as Dead Man's Hand to break the control deadlock). If we consider a 5/5 buff on a minion to be worth about 3-4 mana (by Blessing of Kings standard it's worth 5, but people don't play cards just because they're 'fair'), then we're looking at a ~4/5 rush for 5 (technically 5/5 but as you badly want to Overkill it realistically is only doing 4 damage worth) that draws you another rush card + the imaginary buff card.

Not to mention, the rush package (the 3 mana Worgen, 4 mana temporary 5/5 and Crowley) can struggle against bigger threats, and the buff definitely helps there - even if it hits the Worgen that's an 8/8 rusher. Hit Crowley, and he can hit something big to start growing, as opposed to having to start with a something much smaller.

    Definitely potential here.

posted a message on New Paladin Card Reveal - High Priest Thekal

Actually, thinking more on it now, a heal paladin deck could look like this (in terms of things that are seemingly 'unfair', which is what you're looking for in competitive decks):

    * Kangor + double heals to make some underwhelming heals a little better.
    * 8/8 taunt for 4 (new paladin card)
    * 3 x 2/2 taunt for 2 (paladin spellstone, upgraded by healing)
    * 3/3 for 0 (Happy Ghoul)

In addition, this could see the resurgence of stuff like Corpsetaker and Wickerflame, as well as Zilliax entering paladin decks.

I'm not yet convinced that 2 Happy Ghouls, 2 Spellstones and 2 8/8 taunts for 4 are enough to make heal paladin a tier deck, but one or two more good support cards in this set could definitely change my mind (I don't think I'd consider Lightwarden 'broken' enough for this sort of thing, as unless you start running underwhelming heal cards like Voodoo Witchdoctor it's usually going to be a 1/2 for 1 until about turn 4 or 5, which it should be dead before).

posted a message on New Neutral Minion - Masked Contender

Obviously best in mage if you can somehow curve it out nicely, where it's 2/4 + 3 mana secret for 3 mana (basically secret with a free 2/4 body). Coin into Kirin Tor Mage + Secret into T3 Masked Contender will be quite nice. Hunter may be the best class for it though for consistently curving turn 2 secret into turn 3 Contender.

Probably not worth it in paladin though; 2/4 for 3 plus a paladin secret that's conditionally dependent on already having a secret in play just isn't worth. Only reason it's more viable in hunter is that they'll usually have a turn 2 secret thanks to their spellstone.

This is why the Hall of Fame isn't necessarily a bad thing - Molten Giant moves there, allowing this to be printed. You couldn't leave it in classic and then print this guy, as paladin turn 3 (or turn 2 with coin) Thekal into Giant x2 would be super oppressive to the meta.

In any case, definitely a cool effect, and certainly has potential in ensuring face heals will almost always do something, but off the top of my head are there currently any paladin heal cards that you're dying to play that you wouldn't be playing anyway? Can't think of any. Of course, new cards will be revealed, but unless this combined with Kangor and heals we currently aren't playing combine to do stupid things with the Spellstone and the new 8/8 taunt for 4 (if you've healed 10), it'll mostly just be a vanilla 3/4 for 3.

That said, I look forward to building a Reno deck in wild that involves this card. Control paladin isn't the worst thing running around, and all but guaranteeing that Reno gets a 29 heal off is groovy.

2/2 psuedo-draw for 2 has rarely been bad, and it won't start now. Discovering is much better than an entirely random spell; at least this way you get the least bad (and hopefully actually good) of 3 options.

4/3 + pseudo-draw for 4 is really nice. Potentially even better than draw as you may get extra copies of some of the better dragons (like Bone Drake).

Plus, often, it's drawing 2 or more cards, so getting a 2+ draw on a 4/3 for 4 body is paying massive unders.
