Death's bite comes out a turn earlier for combos with Dread Corsair and upgrade effects, not to mention board control. It's better on curve with Cultist, Frothing, and Leeroy. The 2 dmg diff should rarely be the deciding factor and if you get an upgrade off you're already winning. Even the whirlwind opens up serious blowout potential with Frothing and can help against aggro decks. Death's bite is just better at generating tempo on the most important turns of the game. There's a reason Arcanite Reaper was in retirement until Death's Bite rotated out.
I'm not just talking out my ass. I tried running a 1-1 split (with Leeroy) and going to 2 DBs played much better.
Dies to removal is an argument that can be used against any card. Yes, this is a pile of stats, but if you've exhausted your opponent's removal then it could be a game-winning pile of stats.
Loving the idea behind this deck. Great job with the concept of using Ancestor's Call more than just to pull out Maly for the OTK. I've made some minor tweaks so far, subbing Hallazeal and a Lava Burst for Emperor and Devolve.
Lava Burst even as a one of may be overkill since I'm noticing that you don't often need a big Maly turn to win. However, adding Emperor should make lethal-sized combos come online sooner so you want to continue to emphasize that game plan.
Although it's kind of counterintuitive, Hallazeal is often just too slow vs. aggro. I think the meta needs to be a lot more midrange to warrant his inclusion. The other problem is he's pretty a bad pull from Y'Shaarj and even worse to land a "tempo" Ancestor's Call on. In it's place, devolve is pretty money vs. a wide spectrum of decks especially early on vs. Pirates. I would even try to slot a 2nd Devolve in, perhaps instead of one Feral Spirit.
I agree with the choice of not running Barnes in this deck. I am often winning from big ass minions coming out on turn 3/4 and Barnes wouldn't mesh with this game plan. I think for Barnes to be really worth it in control Shaman, you want to run some Ancestral Spirits or Earth Shocks which is not something that this deck is built around.
This deck is really close to what I came up with for a Reno N'Zoth mage. My list went a bit overboard with anti-aggro tech and I'm satisfied with your deck's performance against cancer. Only change I strongly recommend is swapping in an explosive sheep for the mind control tech. It's almost always better against aggro shaman, warriors and token druids.
Most Pirate warriors just ignore your board and go face which makes it pretty easy to build up enough tokens for a Savage Roar lethal before they can finish you.
Also, if you want to shit on Pirate Warriors, just farm them with Jade Aggro Shaman.
If you think Stonetusk Boar is a replacement for Patches you're missing the whole point of this card.
If you don't have patches, replace the entire pirate package in this deck. I'm honestly not sure it's even all that good against non-weapon decks. Recommendations would include other sticky minions (Raptors) or egg activators (abusive or even lance carrier).
You say Flamestrike for Shamans which is presumably the aggro version. Isn't it too slow? I'm thinking that Volcanic + Thalnos for a 5 mana 3 dmg clear would be a better Shaman tech and it gives you some flexibility for clearing annoying early pirate boards.
How do you do against Reno decks with this list? You have -1 Torch, Acolyte and Evolved Kobold vs. the standard kobold list. Do you have problems accumulating enough burn for the OTK against decks with healing?
Freeze Mage looks poised to be really good against this meta if it can shore up the aggro matchups without giving up too much in the slower games. I'm thinking that your list would be rly good with Antonidas. The mirror images are a perfect Tony activator with the added bonus of being able to save them for the combo in matchups where you'd need him. I'd probably cut the Flamestrike, but that's the slot I'd want to use for a Volcanic potion. I think the only other option that leaves is dropping the 2nd torch and relying on Tony for the extra reach.
Have you experimented with any of these substitutions already?
This deck is a ton of fun to play. Time will tell if it's going to be a top archetype so if you're on a budget I'd hold off. If not, definitely go for it.

So you're really bad at this game?

Both Pirate Warrior and Midrange Shaman are 67%-33% vs. Secret Paladin. But you are right in that Secret Pally crushes Reno Mage.

Video has Auctioneer instead of Feral Rage. Is this a newer version?

Azure Drakes haven't been used in Freeze mage in ages.

Could be a personal problem. Druid is right in the middle of the pack in terms of win rates right now. http://www.vicioussyndicate.com/data-reaper-live-beta/
