posted a message on Look at this game, and tell me what I was supposed to do, Warlock is simply broken...

    A few pointers.

First, it has been said, you played horribly with your positioning. No proficient mid shaman player, no matter how tilted, would make these mistakes, so if you correct them, you'll get a lot better. Positioning is the number one skill to work on when picking up mid-shaman, always has been.

Second, your turn 3. You play against a deck that runs a lot of boardclears, heals, and a one man taunt-army. As you are bigly unfavored, you have to ask yourself: what is your wincon here? It is not developping a board and chipping damage, as it'll get wiped. Your best path to win is to get a winfurry'ed corpse taker to deal a lot of damage, and you happen to have corpse in your hand along with flametongue & earthen might: the one dream combo that allows you to win these unfavored games. But rather than saving your flametongue, you decided to play it going into the hellfire turn to protect such a low value minion (in this match-up) as the juggler, thus allowing the bad guy to go 2 for 1 with his hellfire and losing your flametongue while you got 0 value out of it.

Your turn 3 should not have been flametongue, you should just have totem'ed up and either trade your juggler or go face and let him kill it with his ooze. Would have meant his t4 would not have been hellfire, and his spellstone would not have been upgraded, thus less heal for him, and more damages for you. Wolf could also have been played for better trade without taking the risk of losing the all-important flametongue for nothing.

Then, there is your al'akir use: the guy got an army of taunts, so when you can hit his face with the windlord, your do, especially considering your hand size and the lack of draws in your deck (you might want to kick zap out for sandbinders, as you play kalimos, they are absolutely great at refilling your hand with steady damage that can go face). Your elementals can hit behind a taund, al'akir cannot.

Anyway, the bottom line is, ctrl warlock is heavily unfavored for you, so you have to take risks and follow the highest winrate line of play, which is getting basically every single point of damage possible to the face in one turn (corpsetaker is the one minion that can reliably do that) and hope it'll be enough. You did not, you came close, but you lost, better luck (and plays) next time :)

edit: someone on first page made a much more thorough analysis already, so my post is useless. Bottom line is, you don't seem to understand how to pilot your deck (positioning) and your wincon in an unfavored match up, so you lost. Improving would be a better step than blame the warlock arsenal, as frustrating as said arsenal can be.

Here is my take on beating taunt druid. Not as flashy, but I'll take what I can get!

Legend with miracle, it's been a fun ride. Interestingly enough, I got my first win of the season vs barnes hunter at rank 1&4, better late than never after at least 10 hopeless losses against these guys =)

Been doing good against dudes, warlocks and all kind of priests, struggled against burn mages and murloc pally, and as mentionned, barnes hunter feels like the worst match-up in the history of dreadfully terrible match-ups. Curse you to hell, spellstone.

edit: the highlight of my climb was actually playing against a keleseth/spiteful/c'thun druid, who interestingly enough got an 8-8 c'thun off his spiteful, as he played a c'thun buff earlier. Whoever it was that was playing it, dude, you are my hero.

Hard to gauge the value of a card that generate a coin for miracle, but it fits the deck pretty fine I guess, opening up nice shenanigans with Edwin. An auctioneer turn "prep-remove something from board-draw with the coin" fits well with what miracle tries to achieve as well.

4 mana might be too harsh, but it's hard to tell. In a slowish meta rogue does not need to worry so much about the cost of his cards, and in an aggro meta, well, rogue dies and you just don't play it, and this card would definitely not do anything to alleviate the pain.

Did pretty fine with aggro shaman (10 wins). Earthshocking a Tarimed 4 mana 7/7 has got to be my new favorite thing in hearthstone ever.

Got me in the mood to play wild ladder, but I am rank 25 right now and it's not very fun to beat up Silverback Patriarch and Goldshire Footman.

posted a message on [RANK 1 LEGEND] Face Hunter

This deck is just a shell that you tech as you please. Bittertide Hydra is a tech against priest, so if you see a lot of them a craft might be a good idea, or another strong minion (Savannah Highmane as mentioned, though it is slightly weaker with this gameplan).

But if your meta is more aggro (paladins, rogues, hunters), you can cut the hydras all together (and probably one silence). Cards to consider according to your meta: Unleash the Hounds, Knife Juggler, Golakka Crawler, Dire Wolf Alpha. And because it is fun to play this in 2018: Wolfrider.

The whole point of tempo rogue is that it's one of the best counters to paladin while holding its own in all match-ups (but cubelock, though I guess this is the whole reason for double silence). If you get beaten by paladins on a regular basis you do something wrong.  According to the vS data, the only properly unfavorable matchups for pally are tempo rogue & aggro druid.

I mean yeah, paladin will beat you if they build a wide buffed board, and druid will beat you if they get a wall of big jades up, this is their win condition and you sometimes can't stop it. But more often than not you'll out-tempo them and take the win.

Legend with a mix of face hunter and face shaman, 'cause it is fun sometimes to hit face.

Hunter feels more consistent, burn shaman stronger against paladin. Both do well against priest and suffer against turn 5/6 3/9 into wall of taunts.

Was pretty cool to use shaman while the class is probably in its more dire state ever, people don't know what you are playing and priest often mess up their 3/3 that picks a card from your deck. That said, not much novelty here, the only new cards I play are these cheap guys that seem to enjoy creeping in corridors...

[edit] I actually started to use shaman for the lol at rank floor, and it carried me to rank 3 on a strong winrate. Who would have thought?

Reached rank 5 with a mix of sprint miracle rogue, burn mage, secret hunter caping at leeroy and tempo rogue. No idea which deck I'll pick for the push to legend. I guess sprint rogue is both the funniest and the weakest (though my results were fine), and burn mage did very bad for me, so hunter and tempo rogue, both of which were solid, hoping to dodge the wall of 3/9 at turn 6.  Might touch my facehunter list to find room for corridor creepers.

But first gonna mess with burn shaman, because why not, there must be a reason for rank floors right?

posted a message on Is Leeroy still viable in Miracle Rogue?

I've been climbing with a Leeroy miracle rogue this season, I just like hitting face with cold-blooded things too much to switch to arcane giants. I'm having success with it (66% winrate from 5&1 to 2&1, and 64% overall from rank very low, I actually don't know at which rank I started the climb this month).

The lack of conceal and the vilepine slayers just make it a very different deck than MSoG miracle, I generally always look for the most aggressive line of play and see how it turns out (especially considering the weird state of the meta, I sometimes have no idea what I'm playing against and how the bad guy's trying to kill me, so having a generally proactive gameplan is good). Just chip in face damage whenever you can until one of you is dead :)

I was wondering why is it raining shamans today (50% of my games). And then I read the vS Data Report. Yup, Green Jesus is back, and he is seriously pissed off.

Can't blame the shamans for being stuck at rank 4 though: over the last 2 days I missed obvious lethal twice (punished twice by a reno topdeck), I eviscerated one of my auctioneers instead of coldblooding it once (and then proceed to wonder why my auctioneers like to hide at the bottom of my deck so much), and also missclicked against a pirate warrior to allow him to snowball a game where my cold-blooded patches dealt 16 damage to face. I'm on a roll.

    Quote from itforwait >>

Went from rank 2 to rank 7, back to rank 4 before losing my way back to rank 6. The grind is so insanly hard. the wrost thing is seeing my friends just cruising up to legend.

Luckily I still got 11 more days with grinding.

I've had similar streaks, I actually doubt I'll make it to legend this month. I've been playing miracle rogue and it is a ton of fun, but boy, I sometimes have the feeling that my Auctioneers get tired of being killed on sight and just hide at the bottom of my deck. I had an 8 games streak (!) where I did not find any Auctioneer before being 20 cards deep in my deck (except for 1 game. I saw 2 auctioneers in my opening hand after the mulligan. Against Pirate Warrior :D the lil' guys must have known I'd be dead long before being able to play them ^^).
On a side note I've met one Zoo and one C'thunn warrior yesterday, for the first time of the season! 41 games against warrior so far, 40 were pirate or pirate-dragon. 28 warlocks, 27 reno :)

On the other hand laddering in Legend is the best part of hearthstone imo, there is just nothing in this game that compares to the fun of dumpster diving :)
