BloodySundae77 posted a message on !whole new meta deck-worgen combo warrior after karazhan whole new best ver!Posted in: !whole new meta deck-worgen combo warrior after karazhan whole new best ver! It's not "whole new" since
(a) Raging Worgen combo decks have existed for a long time,
(b) Neviilz tweaked it a lot up to this list and reached #1 legend a few days ago,
(c) as soon as everyone found out through this: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/4t4v3q/neviilz_just_reached_rank_1_legend_with_otk/, people - including famous streamers like Sjow and Kolento - started playing it immediately, with similar results (Kolento last night reached #2 legend with it while I was watching). I played one or two Worgen guys last night myself with Yogg'n'Load hunter. (Tip: when the late game comes, play and keep one of your 2 Freezing Traps up at all costs. It wrecks their combo turn completely, unless they also use Faceless, but they will normally need 2 Worgen copies to kill you.)
So in contrast to what almost everyone is doing here, it would be good to mention your sources of "inspiration". Unless of course you are the original maker of the deck - which is again a small variation of the old Worgen theme.

Ogmok posted a message on How Good is Rank 15?Posted in: Standard FormatRank 15 is an important step, I consider it as the 3rd step out of 4:
Step 4: Rank 20 ---> play 1-3 games per month to get the cardback, it's for people that do not really play the game, but don't want to miss the cardback.
Step 3: Rank 15 ---> a golden rare = 100 dust per month. An important goal for most casual player.
Step 2: Rank 5 --> a golden epic = 400 dust. Many aim for this one, but rank 10 to 5 is much longer than 15 to 10.
Step 1: Legendary. Nuff said.
Do not listen to other people that talk bad about reaching rank 15; not everyone got a huge collection yet or is willing to grind so many hours for rank 5. Others will get toxic if you don't have 8 arena wins on average, so just don't listen to such individuals.
The problem is that rank 10 is not rewarding if you compare it with the other 4 steps.

brilliant_gnome posted a message on We must find Ben Brode's undiscovered 'quality Priest'Posted in: PriestQuote from brilliant_gnome >>Play a 4-attack minion and priests are pretty much checkmated 50% of the time, it's ridiculous.
Most decks do not have hard removal, so that's hardly a point...Plus, Entomb ?I don't play much priest, i just notice that when I play a 4-attack minion it is not uncommon for it to get 8-12 damage in, or force an extremely unfavorable trade / card waste. I think that is stupid. If they want to waste an entomb on a C'thun's chosen, I pretty much win the game right there. -

sjones7986 posted a message on We must find Ben Brode's undiscovered 'quality Priest'Posted in: PriestQuote from Exacerberus >>This is what Brode tweeted back to me last night " I wasn't saying there is a deck that hasn't been discovered. I'm just saying it's possible there is. Metas change" so there ya go there is no deck. I mean there might be but there isn't.
You know what's most interesting here to me is that we've been complaining about how bad priest is for weeks now and Brode comes out and says something cryptic that turns out to mean nothing and the entire priest community bans together and starts trying to make a competitive priest deck. Together. I've never seen anything like this. And ya know what? This is exactly what Brode was talking about, the whole "players finding solutions" bit. We're definitely doing our part here. Feels good man.
Ok honest question here: did you train yourself at r1mm1n6 like that or have you been actually thought/paid for that? Because you're genuinely very good at it.And you know what? I'm not even a priori against your fake, naive and forceful positivity about the whole thing, what really pisses me off is that you came in here trying to make people believe that Ben Brode just "let slip" that sentence intentionally to encourage the Priest community to gather and explore new, functional possibilities to push the class towards. This is not the case, period.
All Ben Brode did was being as bad at PR as he is at balancing the game, neither of which is anything new at all for the community: what he really meant was that he and Team 5 once again completely fucked up with the Priest class but hopefully the community and all the die-hard Anduin aficionados may overcome their laziness and incompetence and somehow pull out the extremely unlikely miracle of finding a new, solid, synergistic, unexplored core of cards to build a strong Priest archetype around.
Realistically (and I mean by a purely mathematical perspective) this is just not gonna happen: millions of people have already shared their experiences and tried all sorts or combinations and archetypes, the real effective cores Priest decks could be build around have been long time figured out by now and nothing really fresh and competitive will ever surface unless new cards get introduced and/or the whole meta shifts dramatically.Priest as a class got literally destroyed by Naxx (Zombie Chow, Deathlord, Sludge Belcher) and Lightbombs rotating out: the taunts that bought the class enough time to find its reactive answers got removed along with the class best and most reliable boardclear; most of the great tools that were given to Priest through time to fill in the gaps and shore up the historical weaknesses of their core of Basic and Classic sets suddenly got removed by the introduction of Standard mode without being replaced by anything really viable or worth the slot besides... what?: Shifting Shade, Embrace the Shadow and Darkshire Alchemist (which is a neutral, so accessible to all the classes). Lmao...Priest right now is full or cards that are either unplayable in a realistic meta (Mindgames and Mind Control will only see play when every single player brings control decks to the ladder) or completely crappy and out of place (Shadowform is an inefficient tempo loss card that can only work in gimmicky deny/fatigue decks, Mass Dispel is overcosted by 1, Lightwell is honestly totally useless in a class that has basically every single non-Dragon or C'Thun archetype heavily carried by Auchenai Soulpriests); even if you somehow managed to make a decent enough deck with Holy Champions, Lightwell, Holy Nova, etc, why would you even bother when Light of the Naaru rotated out? I could make the same argument for whichever hipster deck you may fool yourself about being truly competitive (from Prophet Velen nuke to Hobgoblin to Inner Fire OTK, etc). The whole Priest class is basically burdened by a shitton of inefficient cards that have an extremely bad value by themselves and also require to be comboed to reach a decent status (which also translates into implementing enough card draw or redundancy -at the expense of something else- to be able to combo them reliably). What Ben Brode is really hoping to do is to encourage the community to actually do his job, compensate his incompetence and somehow revitalize a class that has almost always been neglected, and do it all with the blunt tools Team 5 provided them.Random case in point here: do you really want to compare Blessing of Kings with Power Word: Tentacles? Oh look!, they both provide a total of +8 stats. Oh look!, one costs 25% less while also having a stat distribution that makes it threatening for face and/or good for trading while instead the other is just... the typical overcosted Priest card.
But hey!, why the fk should I keep being so unconstructively and realistically negative about the overall state of Priest when the very dude that couldn't fix the class in over 2 years hypothesizes that -maybe, maybe- an undiscovered solid list is yet to be found??: in a world where all politicians suddenly stopped robbing, all the planets perfectly aligned and Emma Watson and her extremely hot secret bi friend started stalking me -all at the same time- I could definitely see a Tournament Medic into Power Word: Tentacles + x2 Power Word: Shield + Divine Spirit + Inner Fire combo Priest be the next crop of the cream tier 1 deck on Tempostorm.I have to ask, and please don't be offended by this question, but why would you go to all this trouble of pointing out all of the flaws in the Priest class? Is it to make us feel like it is a futile effort to attempt to find the needle in the haystack? Is it to get us to stop looking? Are you hoping the Ben B wakes up tomorrow and says "hey...let's make some more OP cards for Shaman and leave Priest decks in the crapper some more"? Trolling a thread like this, when people are genuinely trying to find a way to come up with something that hasn't been tried or done before speaks more about your own character than anything else. Ben B may have sent us on a wild goose chase but the amazing thing is people are legitimately trying all sorts of weird ideas to find that one deck that may be competitive. That in and of itself is a very good thing. If you believe that Priest is doomed to forever be the worst class then the simple solution is play another class, and when threads like this one pop up ignore them.I love playing my Priest decks and trying to make decks that are viable. Do I fail a lot...well duh! we're talking about Priest decks here so of course I do. I hate running into all of the same deck types match after match though and hope that when my opponents play me they see something fresh and new. As I said, I'll probably lose but it will be an interesting loss that will be fun and entertaining. That, IMO, is the true essence of this game.And...yes...I am always this positive and upbeat. Being a sourpuss is no way to live life. :-) - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

This is going to sound ridiculous, but I was using Darkspeaker in a Warlock deck for the following cards:
Dragon Egg for many 2-1 tokens, plus the opponent doesn't expect the sudden 3-6 with charge.
Imp Gang Boss for basically the same reasons above, but they already perceive Gang Boss as a threat so less of a surprise.
And, for maximum silliness, Grim Patron. Yes. In a Warlock deck. Activate with things like Demonfire, Mortal Coil, and Tentacle of N'Zoth.
Run 2 Sea Giant for all the tokens and extra Patrons.
I don't think it's competitive but it's really fun.

I don't post often on this site, but I just have to say this deck is disgusting. I just killed a priest on turn four with coin and he had played at least three minions.
It's absolutely key that you ditch the Abusive Sergeants and replace with Heroic Strike. You need the extra hero attack power to blast through taunts which will put your minions in danger. Trading minions into taunts can lose you the game, that's what all these weapons are for.
I'm normally a control player, so if you normally play control too and you're not having luck with the deck, stop trading your minions by default and just go face. It's going to be painful as hell at first and your body will scream at you to stop, but if you use your head and make strategic trades instead of every trade you will unlock the spirit of the deck.
Trade to keep your key minions alive next turn. Trade if you think your opponent is going to take the board from you via AOE so you can cash in (turn 7 Flamestrike, turn 5 Holy Nova, turn 4 Swipe, etc). Your opponent will use their coin if they have one to wipe your board, so make sure you're paying attention.
Currently 6-0 from rank 14 => 10. The highest rank I ever got was 9 and that was during secret paladin's debut.

Shoo baby lemme hit the slots CASINO STYLE

The Gorehowl is brutal. If your opponent doesn't have an answer to it, you can generate serious board control with it.
I would know. I lost to that card multiple times Q.Q
Don't be like me. Tech an Acidic Swamp Ooze or Harrison Jones.

That's much smarter, thanks for the tip!

Fun deck, SirFunchalot!
I'm trying a variant out with one Echo of Medivh and two Molten Giants. This combo is really fun and easy to do if you use the secrets after your health is low to get the giants for free. Make sure to use the giants before you proc Majordomo because they will become dead cards after you turn into Rag. Summoning four giants and a Sylvanas in one turn is just so satisfying.
