It is interesting that they banned because of gameplay issues, not really power level or winrate. Stealer of souls warlock was far from the strongest deck in the format, even though it was frustrating to play against.

Bru'kan should be promoted to Tier 1, 2 or 3 since elemental shaman is a tier 2 deck at the moment.

Inara Stormcrash to tier 1. Doom shaman is nuts at the moment

Zixor, Apex Predator, and Keli'dan the Breaker should go to Tier 4 or possibly 5 since they don't seem to see play.

Murgur Murgurgle paladin's power has been weakened severely and this card isn't that strong that it used to be. Tier 2 or possibly a 3

Death Speaker Blackthorn should be a tier 1 because big and deathrattle dh is now a thing and those decks are nuts

Tickatus to tier 3. Warlock isn't good in this meta but it might stay where it is.

Archdruid Naralex to tier 1 since it's a great card played in a huge variety of strong decks

Besides that keep up the good work, the guide is very helpful :D

     Thanks, I'll get on it!

posted a message on Wild Control Dragon Warrior?
    Quote from TheWarazoid >>

I recently opened up a golden Deathwing mad aspect and I was trying to think what deck to use it in. I then had the idea of a control based deck using dragons and the cthun that splits into 4 pieces. Any ideas on how this deck would look or what cards I should use? Thanks :)

I think you will have a hard time cracking a 30% winrate with such a deck. As you practically can't win with value vs combo and other control decks, I would go for some kind of tempo approach, focussing on winning aggro matchups.

posted a message on VS Report is WRONG, Control Warrior is Legit!

I have to say that dedicated players have done well with supposed "bad" decks since the release of the game. If you know all the inns and outs of every matchup and how to tech vs a specific meta (like you did), most archetypes can reach legend.

Congrats, though! I hope more players get inspired to follow your footsteps!

Just nerf Immune, not the cards.

Immune should only negate damage, not the costs.

I mean, they nerfed Echo, instead of Mechwarper or Sn1p-Sn4p.

     Great idea here

? So when the cost IS damage, what do you negate, then?

On topic: No, it doesn't break wild, there are many archetypes with WAY better winrates.

posted a message on Archdruid Naralex's RNG is Rigged?
    Quote from BravoTeam >>

What I find funny is that the only thing the whole conspiracy crew has done is convince me that the RNG in the game is fair. There's so many people who are so passionate about the idea that there's this rigging going on, which is frankly not that difficult a thing to prove. Just log your games for a month and prove that your quality of card draw is not within reasonable distance of the expected average. The Minecraft speedrunning community got this done for Dream's speedruns. The fact that there's this batallion of tinfoil hatters who'll post the same three links over and over again like they've not been discredited and dismissed five hundred times and yet there's zero actual stastical evidence for their claims just makes it look like their claims are fake. Is this an argument from ignorance fallacy? Yes, and I recognize absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. I'm not making the claim anything's been proven. Does it emotionally make me feel like the conspiracy crew is full of crap? Yes. You can prove this! It's not that hard! Most deck trackers log this stuff! Just do the maths and prove us all wrong! Be a 2 mana 2/2 that pulls a secret from your deck when it dies. I'LL SHOW THEM! I'LL SHOW THEM ALL!

This made me think of this video about a very controversial streamed Minecraft speedrun:

    https://youtu.be/8Ko3TdPy0TU

The mathematician YouTuber Matt Parker essentially proved that no, that speedrun was too lucky to be plausible. Some "rigging" had been going on, most likely different droprates than standard on the game version he was playing.

The lack of anything comparable in Hearthstone is indeed very comforting.

    Quote from 3nnu1 >>

Blizzard rigs RNG in a variety of ways for a variety of reasons. But some on this site will continue to deny it as if their livelihoods depended on it.

Please gather some data to prove it then. The legendary pity timer for packs was rigged, and the community proved it. It was even a pretty complicated one, as not hitting a legendary in 40 packs is already pretty unlikely, but it was still proved it was impossible.

Nothing else has been proved, so it it is a non issue. But you are too lazy to do that kind of work, and you are more than happy riding your convictions based on assumptions and anecdotal evidence. Sigh.

posted a message on At last a healthy meta!

I just checked the Diamond to legend numbers.

-Warlock is the worst class by far.

-Mage is struggeling, but no minion mage is close to 50%

-Warrior, Priest, Paladin, Hunter and DH all have one 50%+ archetype each, but only Warrior and Hunter are the true one-trick-ponies.

-Rogue, Shaman and Druid are in a very good spot.

If something is missing in standard, it is probably control and combo decks. There are plenty of different viable aggro, tempo and mid-range decks, most of them being heavily board based.

Not complaining, though, the class balance does seem good, and the clear 2 top decks, Deathrattle DH and Face Hunter both have solid counters.

posted a message on Anyone else feels sad wild is treated the way it is?
    Quote from CaptKnucklez42 >>

I'm not saying an actual combo deck. I'm speaking about mostly synergy or combination of cards that could work well with each other to  establish itself as a decent deck. Will it ever reach Tier 1 status? Well that's up to the deck itself and whoever is piloting it.

The mentioned decks will certainly be a shit test for the builder to consider, but there are decks out there if you really want to find them, create them, and learn how to play them. I played wild when it first came out, but got an idea of where it was headed to in it's current iteration. since then, I started dusting my wild cards to focus mainly on standard.

With that said, I play/build off-meta decks, and find ways to reach D5 at least. Mind you I avoid anything that's meta. I'm sure I could something in wild that can do the same.

Many of those decks are actually being played, but they rely on:

-Having a decent matchup against at least some common metadecks

-The opponent being confused about what to expect.

posted a message on Anyone else feels sad wild is treated the way it is?
    Quote from CaptKnucklez42 >>

Many have already harped on it already, but it's just too many synergies and combos for Blizz to care about wild. Wild is just supposed to be a "fun" mode for people that want to experiment with crazy combos and synergies. It's supposed to be a deck builders paradise to experiment and play mad scientist in HS ala MarkMcKz on YouTube.

That guy is constantly finding odd stuff that works in Wild. Because of that, they have zero interest in completely balancing the format. They leave that up to us to find "balance" in the format. Right now there's probably some wacky combo/synergy out there that no one or very few have considered, and could possibly break the format if you looked for it.

I mean they already have a hard time addressing cards in standard. Imagine what it would take to keep wild in check the same way they try to do in standard. Wild is truly a byproduct of standard, so outside of something being completely broken to the extent that nothing can stop it, they're going to focus mostly on standard.

No, I don't think there is a combo deck breaking the format currently. The reason is the gatekeeper decks:

Secret mage-the hyper synergetic tempo deck with a good chance vs everything. This matchup is the first reality check for any wild deck.

Fast boardflood aggro-Have the tools to stop them in time, or you are run over, quickly!

Big priest. This goes off fast as well, but the maximum value is insane, along with good control tools. Any control or midrange deck needs a way to deal with this.

Not an easy place to be a combo deck, but they are also fast enough to have a fighting chance.

The new Warlock combo deck is NOT game breaking. The fast decks seem to keep it in check, and it has to sacrifice control tools for draw.

posted a message on There's no point in trying to play around secrets when facing a secret mage.
    Quote from PacoBelan >>

After facing a bunch of secret mages, whether I won or lost against them, I've realised that trying to play around their cards is pointless. There is absolutely no reason to try and interact with their cards outside of clearing the board, you can only try and force your own win condition whilst tanking their secrets. Anyone else experienced the same?

Nope. Which level are you playing at? Most decks have a key spell or turn they rely on to win. Decent secret mage players will know them and play the worst possible secret at the worst possible time for you, mixed with some curve balls, so you are forced to play around them.

Playing around secrets is not always trying out for every one of them every turn. See the game from their perspective instead.
