Lens on average is basically draw 2 for 4 mana and the costs balance out, with some unique combinations. Getting a cheaper Kangor's, equality, sometimes Kharut defender/ egg / hatchling can be a big deal. With the extra draw in this deck you can usually finish the quest pretty reliably and get to your late game I've found. I can kinda see what you mean with lens losing tempo in agro match ups (vs slower decks the extra cycle is definitely worthwhile), but again you do have some interesting outcomes that can change your game. I'm open to alternative ideas though for specialist format if you have one for lens, would be interested.

For the agro match up (wasn't able to go back and edit) Make sure you take advantage of value trading, and staying alive. Your minions tend to be sticky and annoying for them to deal with. As long as you aren't completely over run you should win the late game. These games definitely be more difficult.

posted a message on New Legendary Mage Card Reveal - Luna's Pocket Galaxy

To be honest it's pretty similar to the druid jungle giants quest reward Barnabus. Doesn't require doing a quest (which is the main upside of this card), Costs 7 mana instead of 5 that plays an 8 8 minion vs no minion (much higher tempo loss), minions are 1 mana instead of 0 and then of course it's a spell + the mage class instead of a minion+ druid class. One major issue with Barnabus and will likely be with this one as well is that if you draw your big minons before playing this it significantly loses power. It has some high roll potential for sure though with cards like Archmage Tony, Malygos, Alexstraza e.t.c. One interesting idea people suggested is you can use Baleful Banker to shuffle a higher cost into the deck, but that would require having to set that up over one turn, then wait and play the spell next turn which is slow and also has the potential downside of being drawn the turn you play your spell making that approach not work. What I wonder is if this can be discovered off Primordial Glyph or not. Because if you can get this off glyph that would be stupidly over powered most of the time. With the exception of that glyph situation, this card is pretty interesting. I think it will have a lot of potential it will likely do well vs slower decks, and be weaker to faster aggressive decks.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Elise the Trailblazer

You get a 2 mana un goro card pack shuffled after you play Elise. When you play that card you get 5 random Un goro cards into your hand (they show it in the video). Pretty much a Cabalist tome tome but a lot more random. The value of this card is insane. The big advantage over this compared to Malchezaar is you can select when to play the card that adds it to your deck, which means you are not simply polluting your deck from the get go. Even after you play it you are only adding one extra card in that transforms into instead of 5 entirely separate draws. The one thing to consider is this card is going to be fairly clunky considering you need 5 slots to get all the cards and an additional slot (6 total) if you don't want to mill (if there is) a next card in your deck. My gut is telling me this card is going to be a lot more difficult to use most of the time in control mirrors due to generally large hand size. Granted it has a lower mana cost compared to cards like Lay on hands, Sprint, and Cabalist tome which can often be a difficult to play, this might even be more so. That said the potential value is insane and it adds a card which helps in fatigue situations. It's also pretty unlikely but more tempo style decks might use it as a sort of reload/ value gain tech if the meta slows down

posted a message on Hearthstone Price Changes Coming to Europe for PC, Mac, and Android

I was honestly expecting the price change to be a drop to the older sets to entice new players to start. Instead they are actually raising prices? The timing with all the complaints from both community and pro players could not be worse. From a marketing / pr stand point is a really bad choice, I have friends that are new to the game that find it interesting but the entry  fee is turning many away and this will do so even more. There are so many better ways to make profit off the game; more content released steadily,  more hero skins, special boardsm could even do card backs, are all better ways to make money rather than just being lazy and increasing the cost on existing / new things.

This card is going to be Finja's best friend. It is pretty insane. Solid stat line (way better than the kara buff cards), not too expensive so allows for combo potential, and to top it off it's a beast that can be picked up with curator. It pretty much seems like a better enhance-o-mechano  for murlocs

posted a message on Small-Time Buccaneer & Spirit Claws Are Being Nerfed, Ranked Changes Incoming

Kinda feel like they took the wrong direction on both of those. Small time buc should have gotten an attack nerf rather than health, 1hp makes it likely not worth it. Spirit claws change is okay I guess, problem with that card is it has always been too swingy with rng rolls on spell power. It also feels wrong they didn't touch anything with Kazakus, I have felt like the 5 mana potions are for sure too strong and possibly his mana cost should go up.

I don't know if this is supposed to be a joke or not, but seriously how could you not include Madam Goya !?

     http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/49684-madam-goya

There are so many good synergies with the ragers and ferryman not to include her. course if you really want to high roll you could even pull the weasel. Clearly a much better card than Barnes will ever hope to be, and this will be so high roll people wont even remember tuskar totemic pre nruf. Fix this and I have no doubt this deck will be ez tier 1 on tempostorm.com

So if it lets you target your own minions, seems like some interesting combos can be done with a lot of cards such as Sylvanas, Chillmaw, Tentacle of n'zoth and explosive sheep (for wild).

posted a message on Ben Brode on Lack of Demons, Priests, PTR, and Aggro

They aren't even that great vs other control decks either sadly. Cthun warriors can essentially play around cthun ever being entombed by using emperor to discount cthun/ shield slam and doom caller / Brann, that way they can shield slam cthun after playing it and then bring it back times 2 later. You can honestly just win in fatigue as well by justicar armoring up and not playing cthun til it for sure kills the priest along with fatigue damage.  There are hardly any nzoth paladins around but even they can choose to simply not play Tyrion, if they run justicar it's possible to wear the priest down simply with the recruits. Plus if the paladin drops a decent amount of death rattles that die instead of being entombed and plays nzoth later, the priest really doesn't have too many great ways of clearing it with the lack of light bomb.
