posted a message on How impressive is getting 500 wins with all classes?

Getting all your classes golden and getting the Legend cardback are the two achievements that gatekeep the status of 'good, veteran Hearthstone player', I'd say. Show people that, and most other players will be impressed! Or disgusted, at the amount of time you've played. But they will get a strong impression of some kind, at least :D

As for me, I've completed 8 heroes golden for a while now, and it's likely to stay that way. I do not like Priest. I do not like Priest on a box. I will not have Priest with a fox. My Druid and Warlock added together do almost equal 3000 wins, though!

As for seeing similar achievements in the future, I'd love to. Other games have all sorts of different flairs for your hero and gametag, and that would extra personal touch would be fun to have in Hearthstone as well. Somebody even mentioned releasing alternate art for the basic heroes after a certain amount of wins, which sounds lovely. It's a lot of effort for a small niche of their players, and that's unlikely to happen, but it would be nice to have more win rewards and cosmetics and such.

All that aside, congratulations on your achievement, mate. Don't let it fade to the background! Gloat to yourself a little each time you play with those shiny dudes. Enjoy it ;)

Yeah sometimes I chit-chat with my friendslist in challenge quests or spectators. But some people latch on and are really wack or have ulterior grammatic motives and I avoid those people. I speak in leet mainly.

Haha, I may be one of those grammar overlords. But that's fine. It's the internet, and especially with systems like friends lists, we're free to curate the people around us as we wish. I would just unfriend those folks you're not uncomfortable with and move on.

posted a message on How do you feel with people spectating your game?

I enjoy it! A spectator does cause me to bring a new critical eye to every move that I make - I agree with you with regard to that. But that's a good thing. It brings a new tense quality to the game that isn't normally there. Suddenly, your decisions matter. That's sort of caring is rare when I'm just playing by myself, and the new evaluation it makes me bring to each move is interesting. Just the same as when you think you know something, but something new is brought to light; it is depressing! But it's also supremely exciting, to know that you have more distance forward to go. And I wouldn't be playing this game if I didn't enjoy the challenge that it brings.

As a note of advice, too, you can try to interface with the person who's spectating you. Ask them what they think is the best play, compare it with your own, and work together to make the best effort towards winning that you can. Then they're not judging you, the player, from some high position of power. Then it's the two of you working together.

To be embarrassed is the first step towards recognizing your inadequacy, and recognizing is the first step towards mastering, towards confidence. See the heralded road ahead of you, grin against the pressure, and take from life what you want.

posted a message on Why isnt anyone talking about a muckmorpher deck

Muckmorpher Shaman is a good deck, and an interesting concept with a few ways to work it. (Anti-aggro, Malygos, Mountseller, Value Archmage) But as it is with the cards in Standard, as Mackie says, the value it generates isn't good enough to beat a Control Warrior or Control Shaman. Between that and the Walking Fountain, the deck's best use is in being an interesting way to counter aggro, I think. For which it's pretty good, but... to make it worthwhile, you should tech the deck entirely towards countering aggro, and then it's somewhat worthless (more worthless, to be frank) against control matchups.

Because it's not the best at beating either aggro or control, I've stopped using the deck. While it's fun, it's also unsatisfying to queue into whichever type you're not teched for and know that you have no chance of winning. Control Shaman is still interesting to build, better overall, and still fun!

Thank you for your work, admins! I doubt you've heard that enough, so allow me to speak for, I'm sure, everyone here and offer it. I'm glad that you're putting in so much time to keep my favorite companion site active. It may be laggy, but it's got a wonderful layout, some cute features, a neat community, and you nice guys running the helm. If only the people who own the ship could be a little better about what they're doing.

posted a message on New Rogue Card - Hench-Clan Burglar

I do appreciate that they found a way to make the mirror matchup less awful, but I also dislike that the stolen cards now aren't confined to a single class. Besides cards from the same class having synergy with each other, it felt conniving, perhaps even evil, to beat your opponent with cards from their own class. The flavor of stealing from your opponent is nice, whereas now you just steal from... somewhere. The game, I suppose?

Admittedly, being able to choose from all classes does open up the possibility of some insane combos we haven't seen before, but I would have preferred it if they handled it differently. Perhaps deciding another class before the game and causing all discovers and steals to come from that class, instead of your opponent's - then you have no mirror matchup grief, but you still have the cohesive flavor of pretending to be something you're not.

But at least Kleptorogue and the randomness that comes with it, which only Hearthstone can offer, may perhaps now be more competitive. I look forward to that... while also hoping that it does not become too competitive, as that deck would be, especially with this design change, impossible to predict and very frustrating.

posted a message on New Neutral Minion - Void Ripper

It's so exciting to see cards that have the potential to affect whole meta games by themselves. As people have noted, this has possibilities in almost all of the classes! Sometimes, that'd be bad - I hate cards like Bonemare, because they ruin class flavor - but this is such an interesting card that I wouldn't mind seeing it around. It's the sort of effect that ups the skillcap of any deck it's in.

Also, is anyone else hyped about putting this into egg Hunter? Not only does it activate the eggs, but it can also change Meat Wagon's attack. This will do worlds for the deck's viability :D

posted a message on the REAL K&C meta

    Well met, my dudes.

A lot of possibilities for the meta have already been proposed, but as usual, you Hearthpwn noobs take a while to get around to the real powerful suggestions. Throw those dumb ideas about Evolve nerfing, Ooze metas, and all that bloody chaff out the window. Let's get down to the REAL change that Kobolds and Catacombs is going to bring. ((Not some dumb Psychic Scream meta. Is anyone scared of a Psyduck? Didn't think so! kappa))

First thing to note, of course, takes a pretty high IQ to see. There are weapons coming. Kappa concept as that is, of course. Give us weapons and heroes one expansion, then get lazy and only give us weapons in the next!? Small indie company strikes again! hahaha

But this means that weapon-synergy minions are gonna rock. For all classes! And that means, of course... Aggro Priest! Not Razakus, not Big Priest, not kappa Mill Priest... AGGRO PRIEST! Look at that OG snazzy decklist I attached below. We've got the obvious synergy package with the Dragon Soul weapon - Phantom Freebooter and Naga Corsair. Given those dudes, you've got Patches the Pirate and some early Southsea Deckhand to use after you draw your weapon on turn 3. And, here's the nail in the coffin against noskill aggro decks - Furnacefire Colossus. Oddly never used, but so so good as a finisher! And Spiteful Smith, of course, with Baron Geddon to activate him reliably.

The rest are pretty common combos. You've got Inner Fire, with the Dragon Soul (5-5 weapon, kappa), Meat Wagon, Stormwind Knight, Tar Creeper synergies. Temporus for those sweet two turn finishers, and Prince Keleseth, cuz it's just always good. Enjoy Priest meta, you Hearthboners ;)

posted a message on Blizzard might be pushing players to craft Unstable Evolution

I have no idea what you mean. If there are more lowrolls for Unstable Evolution, it will be a worse card. Players don't want to craft bad cards. The opposite - making less lowroll minions and thus making the card better - would incentivize players to craft it, no?

All in all, I imagine that the amount of lowroll minions is sheerly random, or Blizzard continuing with a trend of wanting to create fewer minions that are good solely because of stats - look at the much smaller amount of filler stat cards we've had in more recent expansions (No Ragers :o). With how often you hear players complaining about Statstone, 'Pure Stats!', et cetera, that sort of design shift would make sense. If the design shift is at all related to the Evolve mechanic, it would be because Blizzard is intentionally trying to make it worse, fearing some sort of power level change there.

posted a message on Kobolds & Catacombs - Hearthstone's Seventh Expansion

Though I do agree with you - Blizzard generally considers the hand inviolable - Ancestor's Call's main use was not to counter battlecries. It was to draw Malygos or another big card out of your deck for combo shenanigans. Hopefully Team 5 sticks to its rule there. The Dirty Rat meta was one of the most annoying things I've ever experienced.

If you'd like someone to idly talk things over with (seeing as questions always go better with a more flexible place to talk) and you're on the NA server, feel free to friend Me0203#1962. I've got a few years of experience with cards, decks, laddering, and arena runs, so I can vaguely answer most of your questions or point you in the right places :)

posted a message on What is your KOFT Golden Legendary Priority ?

I do have a question. In every other interaction in Hearthstone, all the cards generated by or from a golden card are golden, too. Use Evolve on a golden minion or use a golden Evolve on a normal minion - the resulting minion will always be golden.

So, what happens when you play a normal Hero card onto a golden Hero? Would your Hero then become the golden version of that Hero card? I really hope so. Given that I have all the golden Heroes, that would make every game so much better!

And before you mention our homeboy Lord Jaraxxus, remember that he doesn't replace your hero, he destroys it. We don't know that he'll interact the same as the Hero cards... But I'm probably just getting my hopes up.
