Yup, I agree that Standard does help and that new players do need to put in the time to grind the daily gold. People shouldn't be lazy about that (have to invest the time or money). Not saying it's already so problematic now but the trend is definitely alarming that new players that spend a decent amount of time to grind their dailies can no longer keep up with the increase card pool release rate (3x expansions per year instead of mix of expansions and adventures). I found a pretty nice article describing this here:
We are both basically playing since the beginning of HS, maybe the second month of competitive play. Nothing else special. Just play the game, do dailies and don't spend on things you don't really need. That is all there is to it.
Thanks for exactly pointing out the issue. You've had since the beginning of HS to build that collection without spending a dime. Don't you think it might be possible someone starting now will have a harder time than you did? Just to clarify that I'm also F2P and maybe started about half a year after you did, but somehow I can still observe the trends and difficulties a new player may face compared to in the past. You can't admit that it's getting harder and harder to keep up as a F2P especially if they just started HS?
Sometimes it still amazes me how many veteran players don't care about the new player experience just because they aren't affected. You know if the game dies all your time spent building your collection was wasted...
To start off with a bit of background about myself, I've played Hearthstone since ~July 2014 and have maintained a F2P account. Ever since ~July 2016 I've consistently tried doing some F2P challenges where I limit the dust cost of my decks (which generally means only commons/rares and no adventures) to see how the new player experience is like. With the recent trends in expansion releases and top-performing meta decks, Hearthstone is becoming alarmingly expensive and unwelcoming to new players. I think it's something the community should be tracking and be aware of if they care about the longevity of the game. I put together some of my thoughts on stream yesterday and welcome feedback from the rest of the community!
I revamped this deck a fair amount but haven't gotten around to updating it with a final list. If you want upgrade cards probably the first ones to include are SI7 and Argent Commander
The deck doesn't have a lot of card draw so it's not consistent to get the combo. You have other minions that buff the attack so I didn't find it necessary. Glad you enjoy the decks! :)
why would you limit yourself to play a highlander deck if you are not gonna include raza? makes no sense to me really, Highlander priest has a very hard time staying on the game if raza and anduinn are not drawn early, you might as well just build a control oriented deck that uses the DK but also has some other win conditions.
Yup, here you go! Just wanted to do a slightly different style :)
Hit rank 5 today with this deck. 56% winrate (102wins and 79 loses) from rank 19-5. Hope to hit legend with it soon! Also proved that is possible to win double keleset rogue on turn 2 =)
Awesome! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your success! If you can import your deck code onto Hearthpwn it will be easier to embed the deck list for people to see and also to import into their account. Cheers! =)

Can check it out here :)

I'm still tweaking this deck so it's pretty experimental right now. You can cut the mind control techs for them though.

Here's the deck code: AAECAaIHAssDlNACDrQByQGMApkC3ALNA/UFiAfdCOvCAsrDApvIAsrLAqbOAgA=

Tarim Sunkeeper is a card to include also and people would usually just play pirate warrior instead of upgrading the plebstone version

You can make it closer to the standard Raza Priest decks you see on Hearthpwn ;)

If you can make prince decks then probably you'd make prince pirate warrior instead

Not sure about legend rank but definitely rank 5 after upgrades! Thanks for the support :)
