Then again, the effect would not be symmetrical.

Rose1574 posted a message on Malfurion the PestilentPosted in: Malfurion the PestilentThis card is played because it helps vs other match ups. Of course you're going to win the mirror if your opponent plays this because this card doesn't win you the mirror. Yet I guarantee you those same jade druids have a higher win rate vs aggro than you for example. This DK is good because it's flexible. Yes Gul'dan is obviously better than this but Gul'dan also relies on having a deck built around the hero and having to rely on a bunch of demons dying prior to it as well as spending your entire turn playing the hero. Gul'dan is arguably the best DK out of all of them anyways so of course he's going to be better. That doesn't mean that Malfurion is necessarily bad though. He wins you games that don't involve the mirror. So as said if your opponent plays this in the mirror he's more likely to lose as he's using his turn playing this rather than ramping up jades which is how you win the mirror in the first place

hiko posted a message on [KnC] KRUL'DANGEROUS!Posted in: [KnC] KRUL'DANGEROUS!As much as I've been working on a deck almost exactly like this myself, I think that a lot of people are going to run The Darkness based on the current hype it has gotten (because priest has been such a problem). We can only wait and see I guess. But assuming this card is going to make a big impact, Warlock actually might be forced to get away from the highlander archetype, because Kazakus [/card] would be a bad drop on 4 if your opponent plays The Darkness first and [card]Krul would be a decent drop when pulled from Skull of the Man'ari., but is obviously much stronger when you can pull all your big demons from hand. It kills me because I've been a Renolock for an extremely long time, but the fact that The Darkness is neutral and not class specific might actually have more of an effect on decks like this, and could very well shift the power level of how strong Highlander Priest has become, in standard and wild. I think the fact that Priest has become such a nuisance directly influences decks like the one you're trying to make here (and highlander mage which is pretty much dead in standard). If people think they can use The Darkness to shut out how annoying "machine-gun" Priest has become, we'll see a lot of this card. It's the Skulking Geist for Highlanders.

NothYourProb posted a message on Malfurion the PestilentPosted in: Malfurion the PestilentComparing this with another similar but not equal death knight,Uther of the Ebon Blade, we can see why this card is played more
1: it doesn't rely on a gimmick
2: it can give 3 attack every turn
3: it can give you 2 removals or 2 distractions
4: its cheaper and easier to play and ramp to

NothYourProb posted a message on Malfurion the PestilentPosted in: Malfurion the Pestilentwell if it is so bad, then why does everyone play it? because its value, you can get 2 free removals or 2 distractions, you can finish off minions or your opponent with 3 attack or defend yourself with 3 armor,

iMPose posted a message on [KnC] KRUL'DANGEROUS!Posted in: [KnC] KRUL'DANGEROUS!If you play through all of your demons, and don't get any extras from Kabal Courier or Kazakus, there will be 12 Demons in the graveyard by the time you play Bloodreaver Gul'dan. 4 of those will essentially be Voidwalkers. There's also a 2/4 with taunt and a 4/4.
Assuming The Darkness is taking up a board slot. You will resummon at most 6 demons. I understand the appeal of Voidlord, but is it almost counter-synergy with your DK because it dilutes the graveyard? Resummoning Voidlord would obviously be great, but for any individual board slot, you are 4x as likely to resummon a Voidwalker.

This was a neat little surprise for me as well! If your using all your mana for the seals the skull will keep you up to speed tempo wise with your opponent, kinda a shame Azari can be pulled however. Missing out on his battlecry is heartbreaking.
