A nice balanced 1-drop for Druids with Warcraft III flavor. This might make Feral Druid viable (along with Mark of Y'Shaarj), especially since next year Druid early beasts are off. Naturally, this is aimed for next year release, as I think it's quite a broken start for now (might be what Druid needs to be competitive though).
I'm glad that they didn't do Titans as well with this expansion. It's better they take it slowly, so that they wouldn't run out of ideas. On that said, they can do it next expansion, as a way to fight the Old Gods corruption.
As for the nerfs, maybe it's safe to assume that the cards considered will get nerfed next year. I dont think that it would make a big difference for Keeper of the Grove being 5-mana or a 2/2. Maybe it would be considered more often as 5-mana compared to now. Happy that they didn't apply the Savagery nerf on Blade Flurry. Ancient of Lore's nerf was unecessary. The card was only "overused" because of the combo and since they nerfed it, there was no need for Lore's nerf as well.
I agree that they overnerfed the class (what I was afraid of before the nerfs and it's kind of infuriating now) but I dont think it's the worst class, especially if the only reason is that people dont use it in tournaments (so much for calling them pros). I'd go with Priest or Hunter for the "worst" class this time.
I'm currently trying a token druid version which is pretty good so far. I can give you the list and u can tune it even better if you want (I dont have certain druid cards that I'd love to try, like Cenarius).
Healing Totem used to be like that (as said above) but it was changed because Priests were complaining that it made their hero power look worthless.
Dont you think that Searing Totem would be even more annoying like that since you get even more RNG from it's effect?
I do want to see a change in shaman's hero power because I dont think that it's fair for a class HP to be RNG-dependant (of course some of the current shaman cards have to rotate out of standard first).
healbot and belcher gone without substitute, lets give shaman a 4 mana 7/7 on top of all the burst and the best one drop in the game
guess what is everyone going to play?
That's what I hated, as soon as we had all the cards right before the expansion was launched.
They're just trying to push 1 class on top of the meta, instead of giving everyone equal chances and let us figure it out (still I dont feel Shaman is as OP as Secret Paladin was).
I think Warlock is quite strong in standard even though I think he draw the short straw in this expansion (which just proves how powerful his hero power is in this game). Zoo will never perish and thanks to Reno there can be a control deck. One deck that I like playing now is my home-made Renolock with C'Thun and N'Zoth in it. Dreadsteed is great for both Old Gods with Usher of Souls. I dont mind facing any Warlock decks tbh (win or lose). (imo) Some great Warlock cards that can fit in almost all of archetypes are: Imp-Gang Boss, Dark Peddler and Darkshire Councilman. Forbidden Ritual is also a great card that has a chance for most Warlock decks if other cards are missing.
The reason you see more aggro than other archetypes it is beacuse it's cheaper. Count on how much does a midrange or control deck in dust cost. Aggro decks top at 2k dust approximately while midranges go up to 10k on some cases while control cost from 10 onwards typically. All new players are doomed by all means with HS way of getting cards. Dump 100$ or you literally wont play nothing asides aggro that can be decently competitive on ladder. Cheap control alternatives are a) non existant b) blatantly underpowered by all means.
Make the game slightly more accessible and everyone does will be playing slower decks or whatsoever.
And even at this point, for me the meta is perfectly ok for me in terms of diversity.
seriously this guy gets it. While the rest of you are blind from your aggro hate, this is the reason why you will see aggro a lot more. A lot of new players are not going to have 10k plus dust lying around so the best deck they can create for cheap would be an aggro deck as it is much more consistent and easier to play. Aggro has to be around to keep other play styles in check.
Though I agree with this old mentality, x2 Doomhammer = 800 dust alone and you need cards from multiple sets and adventures for aggro Shaman, as well as x2 Sea Giant and the same for the new zoolock :P

For me it's close to the top (tier 2 decks tbh). Nothing too crazy, even though I'm recking with the Control Rogue from benjacobkramer

I'm using a Nourish on top of 2 Azure Drakes and sometimes it's still not enough...
