Definitely more ideal for Paladins and Priests, but still viable for Druids and Warriors.  If this card sees a lot of play I may consider running Blood Knight

Actually it works well alongside Blood Knight, since you may get the value of +3/+3 and achieve the Divine Shield again.

I really don't understand how people misprise Totemic Slam (new Shaman hero power after Trueheart). As someone who love and (used to) play a lot of midrange Shaman, I extremely appreciate ability to choose which of the 4 totems you wan't.

Just remember how much time you needed exactly that taunt totem to survive or protect your other minions, or spell damage totem to push for burn, lethal or remove something with only 1 spell, or healing totem to push your minions out of range of execute/ping/favourable trade, etc.. And you can double those totems, so you can have 2, 3 or more of the same totem, and that's also a huge thing.

Exactly, man! The only guy which is below average is Searing Blaze Totem, and even then if we have some real powerful Totem synergies it will be as strong as a Silver Hand Recruit. Maybe the card doesn't see play due to the tempo loss on turn 6, but Totem Slam is the real deal indeed!

posted a message on New Shaman Card - Thunder Bluff Valiant

    Concerning Justicar Truheart:

Ensuring that you'll clear the board with Lightning Storm (or another possible new AoE from this expansion), or simply giving some extra range to your burn spells when you're rushing for lethal: great value.

Protecting your face and key minions, eventually stopping a single huge threat over and over: great value.

Keeping your minions out of AoE or unworth trades range, also a nice bonus against Warrior and their Executes: decent value.

Having a Silver Hand recruit: mediocre value, specially cause compared to Pally our Searing Blaze didn't have any potential synergy in the game. Until now.

Being able to solely choose the Totem would be a bit awkward indeed - cause it's too OP for regular HP, but would be too far behind the buffed HP's Trueheart gives to other classes. Being able to spam additional copies surely places it up with the strongest HP's from the Justicar.

Sure, if we compare directly with other new HP's there are some which outright counter ours - but that happens to every class somehow, besides Hunter which now falls behind against Warrior and Priest. Thing here is: if Paladin got stronger from having even more value now from Quartermaster, although having 2 recruits on their own isn't all that broken, what can be said from us and the possibility of having 2x Air Wrath Totem? Just like a 1/1 recruit, having a 0/2 may not be all that broken - but if having many recruits rises the value of Quartermaster, having many of whatever totem we need at the right time will rise the value of so much more cards within Shaman pool!

It will be harder to spam totems than recruits since we can only summon one at a time, but now with the option to choose and repeat totems the HP will punish much more people for not answering right away, since havin 2~ copies from the right totem may generate much more value than 2 recruits.

Actually when playing with some unusual class from my preference (Priest and Druid for me) which has low XP level I make some BM moves for the sake of getting some extra XP. Nothing personal though.

Now that we know Justicar Trueheart's buff allow Shaman to not only choose but spamming copies of the same Totem, I guess this big boy has some serious chances of being playable. Just protect your high value Totems behind a couple buffed Stoneclaw Totem.

The only problem is that Justicar Trueheart is pretty bad in shaman compared to the other classes. Thunder Bluff Valiant is on its own better than the Justicar in shaman.

Actually Trueheart in Shaman is slightly above average. It's only below Warrior and Paladin, tied with Druid and Mage. Being able to spam whatever Totem may convey you will be very strong.

posted a message on New Shaman Hero Power - Totemic Slam - Justicar Trueheart

When I first saw Thunder Bluff Valiant and realized his buff was permanent I got really happy with the idea that Shaman's Totem will be now a threat, and that it will punish slower decks which can't outright counter the HP.

Now with this addition things get even more interesting. Spamming and buffing the right Totens you need. It's among the strongest HP buffs from Justicar Trueheart.

The card isn't crap no way in hell. Getting a 3/5 each turn by simply HPing? Can‘t be ignored, which makes it a good card already.

Oh man! Didn't realize the buff is permanent!

This card definitely has potential, Shaman always had difficulty punishing slower decks without overextending the board, now with this Controlish decks may be more threatened by Hero Power alone. Not a Quartermaster, but I'll test it for sure.

posted a message on Nefarian vs Ragnaros is balanced

If you are an average player it's obvious that you'll have a nice winrate with him. Nepharian's deck is both better and easier to play, but it's not as straight forward as some generic Face Hunter deck so if you're above average there's still plenty room to improvements with it - which causes an even larger gap between noob player with Rag~average player with Neph.

Thing is: although Ragnaros is indeed slightly underwhelming, most of the hysteria comes from community's 'Face Hunter' players (sad stereotype).

Current statistics (last updated: 17/06/15, 5:52 GMT)

    Responses: 1000; games: 7873

Rag: 1937-2266 (total: 4203; win rate of people on reddit: 46%)

Nef: 3008-662 (total: 3670; win rate of people on reddit: 82%)

Overall win rate: Rag: 33%, Nef: 67%

lol. But, the_baby, it's BALANCED! IT IS! /sarcasm

I bet you'll still have people coming in trying to claim that it's perfectly balanced despite those statistics. If those stats are legit, then congrats on making every person who was feverishly defending the matchup as being balanced look like an idiot.

It's just as the other member said, those numbers don't account a lot of circumstantial info.

On top of being worse Rag's a much more skill intensive and less forgiving deck, beginners (in both Tavern AND the game generally speaking) suffer a lot with it and due to this and some frenzy from the community people started to insta-concede when get his hero to play. Even people able to do decently with Rag may actually insta-concede since Nepharian is better for farming.

Having said this, I have the impression the match up is something like 55-45 for Neph. Considering two players of similar skills - at high level, since otherwise Nepharian gets vastly favored in casual level of playing - both have a shot at winning, but Neph's goldfish (aka turn 1 Coin + Vaelastrasz/Razorgore) is almost impossible to beat even with a decent Rag's hand.

I don't think Rag is insta-concede material, but he's slightly behind Nepharian. Maybe that's why winning with him is so much better.

People complaining about the premade deck, like if we had to build the lists ourselves people wouldn't be netdecking shit as soon as some pro player make the first stream. The Brawl mode is funny as hell and even the possible disparity between Rag and Nef makes the thing more challenging.

It would be nice having more low-cost playable legendaries other than Bloodmage Thalnos, but I guess this one is too much of a broken card by his stats alone.

posted a message on New Card - Gang Up (Rogue)

Doesn't matter if Rogue run Sprint or Auctioneer, cycling cards such as Shiv, Fan of Knives and Azure Drake: the class is always digging for answers/combo pieces. It's not like shuffling 3x game-changing minion in the middle of the game would be a non-factor given the cycling nature of Rogue.

Now, wether it would be better to draw a Blade Flurry or Tinker's Sharpsword Oil over the 2nd~ 3rd Loatheb is debatable, but this card is far from being unplayable. I'm sure it will be used beyond troll decks such as Mill Rogue.
