You should just rename this to Hunter-abuses-auctioneer because ho-le-crap I draw so many cards off of him. I do have games that I don't start out with early low drop control in my hand and end up running behind on tempo, but for the most part I usually end the game with six or seven cards in hand (options!) and zero creatures on the opposite board.
Currently I believe I'm rank 17 but I'm not too sure. I've been playing vs my friends a lot with it and you really punish people who don't consistently trade 2 for 1 or better.
Time vs reward is only an issue while you are still lacking cards. Arena rewards itself because all cards are available. As long as you get 150 gold out of it, you are past the reward vs investment threshold.
Tempo and ramp decks beat mages. Also anything with weapons. They only have 8 freeze cards, make smart choices and make sure you include divine shield minions and you should be fine.

Yes, the hero power is weak, but the warrior card set is exceptional. Frothing berserker and armorsmiths are so, so powerful.
Weaponsmiths make for great removal, as does shield slam. Damn man I'm spending the night playing warrior, that's just all there is to it.

So what you got in terms of constructed is 3 wins (10 gold), and 2 disenchanted commons for 50 gold.
