posted a message on Upcoming Hearthstone Balance Changes - Wild Growth, Nourish, Level Up!, Saronite Chain Gang, Leeching Poison

I feel you fellow class enthusiast. As a Hunter lover I've been plagued with the same experiences, albeit those are already years past. In a same vein I loved the beast themes surrounding that class, but that has dwindled more and more over time. I loved call pet, old buzzard, actual big cool stuff like gahzrilla, the worm twins, savannah even when it was the premium 6 drop. A time where you could make multiple versions of 25 minion decks that were beasts but still had spell like effects. Things change though. My personal opinion on this matter however is that druid has simply been overtuned since the very beginning, weaknesses created for the sole purpose of the strengths that the class inherently had due to its core mechanics. In this case ramp is simply not isolated in what the class itself can do, with every expansion these cards become innately more powerful due to them affecting every card released since every card costs mana. I feel wild growth was fine, nourish I can understand the change. Definitely overgutted in this instance with a double swing. One can only hope that part of this decision was in favor of future design space.

posted a message on Aggro mage RR 1st build

I feel the curve is a bit too midrangish for aluneth, which I guess kind of dampens its classification as an aggro deck, I just figured id slap a lot of damage in there, which comes in the form of elementals, and mainly elemental evocation, to cheat out big bodies or spell power. In general, im not very convinced about the minion lineup as a whole, but it makes sense to me, as I have quite a bit of experience with tempo mage and aggro mage as seperate decks. I went with a bit of a secret package, because that seemed to generally work well, but strayed away from kirin tor because it empties your hand too quickly as well as no apprentices because of no intellect. I feel like this deck will do well if you can get a headstart with elemental evocation and keep the pain coming from there and close out with burn.

Only real playtesting would show me where the weak links are and I could adjust, but for a 1st version it seems alright. Minions I would want to consider would definitely be stuff in the 4 slot like steam surger and lifedrinker, and maybe something early like firefly or even a leper gnome or two.

And even aluneth might be good, I cant tell, but I'm definitely up for improving the list if I see something eye opening.

posted a message on ForReals HS-Community tournament 23.02 19:00 CEST

Lesser known German streamer ForRealistic is hosting his second community tournament. Format is single elimination, conquest bo5, ban, with the finals being bo7. We have 16 slots available for now, but with enough interest, these can be extended to more. The prize is a 20 euro battle.net gift card. We are not in it for the prize though, it's supposed to be a fun, casual and celebratory event, that will be streamed and casted, so if you would, maybe hop in this evening and check out, if you want to be part of the group.

Please make sure to leave a follow in the corresponding twitch channel and read the rules for the tournament here.

Here is the discord channel where all participants should gather during the tournament, PM Donnie or ForReal for tournament codes.

Being a German speaker is going to be a more enjoyable experience, but we are all versed in english fairly well. Hope to see some of the wonderful community here on hearthpwn in our tournament as well, Cheers!

posted a message on New Hunter Card Reveal: To My Side!

Big hunter will be a thing next expansion. It might even make t2, this card is not a turn 6 play. Call of the wild and to my side will be finishers, if your opponent managed to survive your recruit onslaught and your deck is exhausted of minions, the only question is, if these cards will be needed, because... how often does big priest run out of gas?

posted a message on Thoughts on Control Hunter

As far as control hunter is concerned, and the amount of greed involved. All you really need is deathstalker rexxar, that hp will literally win you the game and is only susceptible to being incredibly behind in tempo, which can happen vs atiesh, army of the dead, bloodreaver guldan. So my recommendation is to fiddle around with the survivability and ability to get to rexxar and also somewhat of a burst finisher inclusion, which can be anything from a natural tundra rhino to a nzoth.

My comments on op's list. First off if you are playing with terrorscale stalker you always want to include play dead, in regards to that, the deathrattle portion of the deck seems relatively weak, I myself prefer using Devilsaur Eggs, the only downside to them is that besides your dr triggers, you can't really activate them, at least in my list, so they just kinda sit around, but maybe there's an elegant solution to that, which I will leave to more creative hands. Second, the spell package is very all over the place and not cohesive at all, bad draws will make you play too reactively, and as a hunter you don't want that. I would literally dump everything in a secret package that emphasises summons for more tempo.

posted a message on Lilian confirmed my theory about Burgle.

That's an interesting theory. Regarding the competitiveness of Burgle though, I honestly think that the card was more powerful in it's original conception, this dilution, that you speak of, actually goes the other way around. Usually the minions and weapons off burgle were much more impactful than the spells of another class.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, or even something very minute like a common quest - deal 5 damage to the enemy hero, destroy x minions etc. draw 2 cards. Obviosly this example is very generic and not quite balanced, but you get the idea.

That's the argument right? It's just that quests seem to be more like a type of card rather than a mechanic - whereas c'thun cards and jades share the same effect, it's just slapped on differently statted minions, whereas quests' only similarity is them being drawn in your opening hand. The requirements and rewards vary greatly, which is why I had hopes that there is a continuation in this direction.

Of course I'm mostly pessimistic about this, but discussion might spark inspiration.

I know it's early and all but I can't help but be hyped about Blizzard considering expanding on this idea now that they've implemented it. Do you think it's feasible to see an expanse in the quest roster in future expansions, or will that remain an Un'Goro thing. I certainly hope it won't since I'm very excited about a possibility of diversifying a class' quest options, or daresay even running multiples in a deck.

Card comes down pretty late, irrelevant in a lot of situations, sometimes you even don't have a deathrattle to bring back. Just meh overall.

Mukla is debatable, He's fairly expensive though and bananas need targets. As for Xaril, you see him quite often from Journey Below, but he's a nice addition anyway. In the decks current form you're never really short on cards to revive Sherazin, the issue is more like getting it on the board, consistency is a bit behind from where I want it.

Answered your comment in my deck section, but upon seeing the deck again, I got reminded of something that I wanted to express XD

I find backstabs awfully weak in the meta right now, you can try experimenting with that slot :)

Since your version is similar to mine, I'm pretty sure you're also noticing the problematic matchup with aggro. I'm sorry to say, that I've never liked mistress of mixtures in rogue as a healing source and she is definitely outperformed by tar creepers. As for the Giants - they might perform well, but as currently aggro is my toughest matchup, they are a risk I take, whereas biteweed has the flexibility of being played as simply a 3/3 or 4/4, it also synergises with shadowcaster, which is minor, but still relevant in the context of the deck. I'm still in the process of trying things out, but it would be in the area of defensive/sustain tools.

If we are talking aggro in general, no, mulligan for tar creepers, fan of knives, preparation, that usually does the job. Pirate warrior is another cookie, some weapon hate is what I need against that deck to improve my winrate. I just honestly think that backstab is quite weak in the current meta.

After trying your variant I got caught up in quite a bit of situations where cards in my hand lost value or were situational for Sherazin, so maybe that's something you could improve upon. It could also be just my inexperience with miracle rogue though. I would recommend you try out hallucination in your deck, not sure what you should replace it with, but I would guess firefly - that card seemed a bit weak during my time playing with the deck, as it just didn't build enough pressure - you can effectively play 2 cards with hallucination too and the result might often be better than a 2/4 stat investment.
