Well, I swapped out Mirage Caller, Shifting Shade and Shadow Madness for the pirates, so you could try some mix of those. The issue though was that I wanted a bit more early presence, so strong 1 or 2 drops might be better. Maybe Golakka Crawler would be good.
Haha I totally agree, and it is very sad. I originally didn't have the Corridor Creepers or pirates in there, but they are really just pretty OP... I had Mirage Caller, which was fun on a Shadow Ascendant, but less consistent. Also tried out a few other cards, but the ones you list are in every deck for a reason... It does suck though.
I have been playing around with this deck recently, and had a decent amount of success. However, I am sure it can be improved a bit. Any ideas? I really want to hang onto the Unidentified Elixirs and Shadow Ascendants, as they are the main reason I made the deck in the first place.
I am still enjoying this deck a lot. I really like the elemental shaman archtype, so hopefully it gets a few more options in the sets this year. I am having moderate success with it at the moment, but was wondering if you have made any changes to the listed deck or if you are still playing it? Regardless, thanks for sharing in the first place.
Haha I appreciate the sympathy. I really want the deck to work. At first I tried something with more spells, and Arcane Giant as well as the Snowfury Giant, but I think the Drakkari Defender and Flamewreathed Faceless make this version better. Just feels outclassed and had me frustrated. I will try play around with it more at some point. I hope you have more success than I did!
I played this a bit... I fount it very depressing. Droping 4 8/8s just seems irrelevant against the other control decks. The worst was against a quest mage, who got my Greater Sapphire Spellstone with a mana bind, and used it on his apprentice and just won the next turn. The deck just feels weaker than everything else to me.
I agree with Justice1337. Fatespinner gives druid a minion for the quest combined with a board clear to help against agro. Ultimate Infestation to draw 5 and then drop a bunch of bombs after completing the quest seems good too. I don't know how strong it will be, but I am definitely going to try make the quest work with the new stuff.
I like spell damage in my own control shaman deck. But it also uses Justicar for guaranteed spell damage, and I don't think the deck will work without Thaurisan. Not that it's particularly competitive anyway, but I do enjoy it. I think shaman gains a lot from spellpower, people just maybe don't realize it because of other shaman decks being more popular (and probably more powerful).
One of the issues is that you need the minions to stick around to get any benefit, or be cheap enough to play on the same turn as a spell. Thats why I like the kobold (and Blood Mage).
I apologize. Was having a crappy day, and bad hearthstone luck, got frustrated, shouldn't have taken it out on your deck. Although I had no luck with it, clearly you and others have, and it's always cool to see a solid budget deck. I un-did my downvote. Tried to delete the negative comment, but the site gives me an error...

Thanks for any suggestions.

I was considering trying something similar, but I didn't open this weapon. Very interested in how your tests go, please give feedback! Good luck!

How does priest get a 3 damage board clear with a 3/3 body, for 4 mana, at rare, but shaman get a 3/3 weapon for EIGHT? At legendary?!

With the loss of the drake, it's time for the kobold and ogre to shine. I liked the kobold anyway!

No spell damage stuff in the new set?
