Just change the battle cry of Chain Gang and Dopplegangster to summon another copy of Saronite Chain Gang, or 2 copies of Dopplegangster. Problem solved. Cards operate the same and Shudderwock summons either a 2/2 or a 2/3 with taunt.
The expansion has been out for a day. I doubt you have tried everything. Or tried very hard at all. You probably built one or two decks and they weren't great and gave up.
Interesting card! As for usability, few things need to be mentioned:
A special deck needs to be created around this, with some minions being quite good until buffed. Playing this on 6 is a really bad tempo play. You need to draw buffed minions and pay the full price when playing them. To survive until then, you need healing and removals which lower the number of minions ih the deck affected, so the deck must be pretty tight.
Btw, Glitter Moth might be nice in this kind of deck as it can make some very big minions.
Call me crazy, but it seems like the odd cost synergy would be better for shaman, because then Shaman can choose their totem from the start of the game and always get lightning storm with spell damage attached.
Every Mage I have faced has had Pyroblastand all but 1 of them has won with it. EVERY Mage. Arena decks are basically Constructed lite with the ability to have more than 2 copies of cards. I like that it has moved away from curvestone a bit, but I think they took it slightly too far.
These cards always look underwhelming, but as we have seen, understatted cards like this that generate value will see play. Taunt turtle, dragon gnome lady, etc.

I got a Mecha'thun kill in my first game of the expansion. Made a Mecha'thun warrior. Worked like a charm.

I think this will go down as the most overhyped card of the expansion. That being said, I think it is still playable. More so in wild.

I can't wait for the highlight when a rogue gets this off of a steal card and has a big enough lead to shadowstep it twice.
