Important cards I found were Coldlight Oracle to help mill along with Voodoo Doctor if you don't have one in your starting hand you should probably concede. As well Reno Jackson is the end all. Big Game Hunter also works extremely well. The list I used was:

I defeated heroic with trollcombo, Paladin's Consecration and Scarlet Purifier to "open" Maexxna's Haunted Creeper and fill her deck with 1 attack creatures and then repeat Antique Healbot + Charge

Killed with Shadow Priest on Heroic. Turns were either Alexstrasza + Voodoo Doctor or Earthen Ring Farseer, Youthful Brewmaster, ERF, hero power to hit Maexxna for 3.

Prior to that, Shadowform ASAP to be able to manage the more threatening minions and/or kill off the spiderlings to summon two 1/1s so she can't summon anything else.

 

so this is what I used to get my win on maexxna basic idea is play only 2 minions per turn, and make sure her board is full of 1 damage minions. simple concept and requiring a bit of luck. also deck is very cheap and can be done with almost all free cards.

I would avoid cards that summon more minions or cards that make you draw simply for the reason that it'll end up filling up your hand and you might not want that since you can cap yourself very easily and thus watch cards get burned away before you can afford that to happen. 

I also avoided cards with battlecry that shot damage like the archer since it doesnt work well with buff cards, thus making charge minions far better than them. though they are a possible choice for to subsitute for any cards you dont happen to have.

I beat her using a Druid deck with a lot of "summon another minion" battlecries, heals, charges, and mind-control tech. I was kind of upset that Faerie Dragon wasn't immune, but whatever. I guess we have to beat all the wings to get the new card back? 

Technically all the minons with "cannot be targeted by..." are still vulnerable against her and all the others because they are BOSSES not heroes.

In Heroic mode, she will ALWAYS use hero power as the FIRST thing she does that turn. So, I went with a Rogue deck with A LOT of battlecry. Between Voodoo Doctors and Earthen Farseer, I gained a ton of life early. Then, with Knife Juggler, SI:7 Agent and Mind Control Tech, I gained control of the board. Alextraza dealt 28 damage more or less and I attacked for lethal in two turns. I will post the deck later
