How to Get Cheaper Hearthstone Packs - Buy Amazon Coins!
Everyone wants card packs, and we all wish they were cheaper - they are! Amazon is constantly running promotions via their Underground App Store on Android which allows you to use a special currency called Amazon Coins to buy digital goods in your favourite mobile games.
Amazon is always running promotional discounts (5-25%) on purchasing the coins, which alone makes buying packs cheaper than from the regular Hearthstone shop. The real deal comes in though where Amazon refunds you back some of your coins after you make a purchase! Talk about #Value.
Note: All links to Amazon on this page use Amazon Affiliate Links. When you purchase Amazon Coins through them this helps support the site!
Requirements
- An Amazon account in a region which supports the discounts.
- A credit card or gift card to buy the Amazon Coins on the site.
- An Android tablet or phone capable of installing Hearthstone via Amazon Underground App Store. An Android emulator on your PC can also be used.
Active Amazon Deals
Last updated October 13, 2017
- Up to 21% Off Amazon Coins - A promotion going on currently where Amazon Coins are cheaper than normal.
How it Works
- Amazon Coins have a value (in the US) of 100 Coins per $1.
- Buying Amazon Coins gives you a discount depending on how much money you're willing to spend. Spend more, get a bigger discount.
- Throughout the year, Amazon runs additional promotions for some titles which gives you Amazon Coins spent back to your Amazon account so you can spend them again. This has gone as high as 20% coins back.
- After buying Amazon Coins, you load up Hearthstone on your Android device that you downloaded from the Amazon Underground App Store and visit the normal in-game shop. Here you can spend your Amazon Coins. Buy larger bundles of cards to get the usual discounts for buying in bulk!
Frequently Asked Questions
Which devices are eligible for the promotion?
This is currently only available on the Android platform. You may use an emulator on PC.
Why can I not spend my Amazon Coins? Prices are in my normal local currency.
You need to install Hearthstone via the Amazon Underground App Store, not Google Play.
I've already completed my collection, is it worth buying discounted coins?
Of course! Coins don't expire so it's worth buying them on discount and then spending them on a future Hearthstone expansion or adventure.
tnx
Does anyone know when the amazon coins cost much cheaper than usual? I've checked now and they cost 45 Euro for 5000 coins, but last week and lots of times in the past they costed 36 Euro for 5000 coins.
25% off packs on Amazon Germany via coinback. Maybe just today (01st May 2017) , I don't know.
Does it charge tax up front? like if i were to spend 4999 coins on packs, will it ask for extra coins to cover the taxes?
That depends on where you live, but in my case it did, so it actually costed ~5400 coins to pre order Ungoro
tax is on the pack purchase in coins so sometimes its annoying when you have to go buy a little bit more in coins. but the purchase coins is discounted so even after tax you save at least 15% plus more if there is a coin back bonus which right now i believe is 20% or 25% of what you spent
there was a deal for 50% off pre-order with amazon coins, I missed it though ;(
Not worth it at the moment. It says it costs like 5400 coins for this. Which is more expensive when you purchase the coins needed. So it doesnt work out.
the deal is coins back, so instead of saving say 5 dollars, you get an extra 5 dollars of packs
The Great rising and enslavement of the world by the homeless is exactly the way it is, through the coins of the Amazon
Keep in mind the promotion for 5000 coins for $25 is over. You can still save 25% but that's their only deal running at this point. Meaning every $10 you spend, you'll save a quarter (or whatever your currency is that denotes that percentage?). Is it a super great uber deal like the post? Not anymore. Is it still a deal? Sure.
Your math is pretty off.
25% of $10 is not a quarter or $0.25 or 25 cents. It is $2.50, 25% of $1 would be a quarter.
is the Amazon deal great? No, it's the only offer around. But it is quite annoying that there is tax, as well as having to buy more coins than I actually need or can use. So it doesn't really work out.
I read somewhere the follow comment:
Can anyone confirm that?
Can confirm. It was a very disappointing transaction, when I realized I had to spend more money to cover taxes on a DIGITAL item.
It depends on your state.
I'd like to say that's not true for Illinois. I still get charged tax when buying packs from Blizzard or when buying games off of Steam. This is either outdated or wrong, or those items somehow do not count as digital (which I highly doubt is the case).
Can anyone confirm if the NA counts as a supported region, i.e. including Canada? Or is it just within the US?
Cant buy the coins from amazon.ca. I believe you need to prove to amazon.com representative that you live in us to create an account on amazon.com. With the current currency rate between Canada and US you lose almost all the 30% rebate from coins in currency exchange.
=> Enjoy getting pwned by US players who gets deal for buying cards!
You used to be able to change your address in the google wallets app and then buy things using the currency exchange of that country you changed your address to. In simpler terms, you used to be able to change your address to somewhere with a terrible currency and then spend $20 in game for the $100 pack of whatever. Not sure if you can do that with amazon with changing your address but you may wanna check it out.
