I have been seeing this used a couple tourney decks lately one from realz another from a guy named drako. i mean i can see how it can be very strong and game ending round 6 if they cant deal with giants, but it seems far in between this will actually work consistently. considering what theyre taking out for that combo(im no tourney player, but handlock is ALL i play.) curious on what you fellas think. I play the traditional handlock..removed the soulfires. i hate them strong ender, but fuck using em for removal. feel a lot safer with shadowbolts..the owls to I never quite understood that concept either can anyone explain to me why they're is used? taunts and silence a watcher? seems pretty mehh to me.
what im currently playing, sometimes ill take out syl for a faceless..I just love that faceless+tink combo, even more so when I use it on a ysera. faceless also has saved me millions of times vs trash aggro warriors buy copying a taunted giant.
guess this all falls back on what rank you're at..ive been facing a lot of aggro so I took out soulfires/owls for bolts and golems. theyre ight. I really want to give PO+leeroy combo a spin. just need to find the proper tweaks because those tourney decks are for their specific tourney and players they will be facing? for my version I'm thinking about taking out slv/alex for the leeroy combo. see what happens..anyone trying to fit that in their handlock decks?
PO is pretty badass..throw that on a sunfury+shadowflame everything gets aoed and in return you dont have to sacrifice a value card like a giant. cool concept.(wish i can come up with stuff like that on my own.. :( )
I actually have been testing my own version of this. I just recently picked up leeroy + PO (it won a game, but not really since I had soulfire in hand).
I've actually removed the twlight drakes, they are not 100% necessary, but they DEFINITELY will draw out some silences.
I added in a BGH, but no faceless as of yet. I'm only running 1 earthen ring, and I've choosen owls over harvest golems. Fight remove BGH in favor of a second soul siphon. (I mean, they basically do the same thing).
I'm also running pagle + thalnos. (Exchanged a mortal coin for Thalnos). I found the mortal coils were only useful vs hunters, which I was shitting on already. Removed the twilight drakes for more removal, but they might find their way back in.
Additionally, the PO + Slyvannas is 7 mana, vs a shadow flame + Slyvannas. Obviously I still run the capability of doing said play, but at times this can be a better option. (Sylvannas + PO the empty board with only that legendary Rag or Grommash on it xD).
Final thought, I've not run shadow bolt at ALL. Might introduce them into my deck, but In my games I have not found a situation where I need a shadow bolt over a hellfire. I might introduce them and see how they do for me. (Definitely eat shit to the face during turns 3 - 4 because I don't know them.)
I ended up using realz version(prob make changes where I see fit) mine just seemed meh had a better early game but by the time I got jaraxxus out opponent was still at 30 hp and was difficult to win without soulfires(without the addition of PO+leeroy like I mentioned I would try earlier).. realz version seems pretty solid(only played friends with it) his includes -
Thoughts on Twisting Nether? It's a card I'm considering crafting as a side board option. Can definitely see it's purpose for the turn after Lord Jaraxxus. (Twisting Nether + Inferno!) would be a strong option if opposing player over reacts and drops a lot on the board.
looks like a solid deck, but I feel you lack the healing you need. i find you need at least two coils for this meta..just to good vs all those trash go for face decks..my opinion on twisting nether it's a great card, but if you top deck, it will be a dead card till turn 8 and even then its iffy because imo I can normally maintain board control by that turn. 1 shadowbolt would be a great addition so you don't have to rely so heavily on soulfire.

Yeah I agree with this coils are too sick right now cause people are playing aggro.. Don't really need twisting nether as you normally have board control with Warlock especially that late into the game with so many combos.

I'm missing +6 health compared to yours, I haven't really noticed it yet, but at the same time I do feel that I could replace the Big Game Hunter with a Siphon Soul. I don't believe the second Earthen Ring Farseer is absolutely necessary. Additionally, I feel the usefulness of Mortal Coil is not as high without the addition of Bloodmage Thalnos. I just don't think they kill anything outright, except when playing vs hunter decks.
Tried out Realz version. After several games with Shadowbolt highly overrated. It does little to help vs aggro decks, and I'd much rather draw into an AOE clear, or something like that.
I could have been miss playing horribly, but I did way worse with that deck than my own. I do like Nat Pagle, the added card draw allows you to hit those aoe clears you need to survive early vs aggro decks. Plus, it works as a 0-4 taunt and can probably save you for a turn.
i'm going to gonna have to disagree with shadowbolt being overrated..its just to good for yetis+coil senjin/unbounds etc. i'm continuing to use his deck and floating around r9. shamans, druids, aggro. druids arent normally problem unless they innervate something beefy. shamans are honestly hit n miss just depends on what they draw(silences/hexes) ..
I also recently took out PO and threw in a brewmaster and took out an earthern for another SF..7-0 casual so far idk how this will hold up in ranked though. it's a nice combo and in theory would work out really well vs control decks.

Owls are great for as you said silencing watchers or taunts to smash face. It can be very devastating depending on your opponents draw.
I play this deck with owls and soul fires and it's excellent.

Wondering if this link works.
I'm definitely considering switching Big Game Hunter with Siphon Soul. And possibly replecing a Mortal Coil with a Shadow Bolt.
