I ended up getting 11th place in the tournament. A warrior TerrenceM won. I would have done better if I had played the deck more this week, i've probably only ever played about 25 matches as control warrior. The matches I lost were: Control Warrior (he ran faceless manip on my grommash and won the armor battle), druid roar token deck (i ended up taking 19 damage out of no where with summon treants and roar), and secret mage deck in the top 16 (which i hadnt seen before... unironically ran antonidas).
Overall a great deck I just need to polish out the spots and decide on things like BGH vs Faceless and Ysera vs Harrison Jones/TBK , Brawl vs BGH, Pyro vs Thalanos, etc.
I know it's not too bright to post this while i'm in a tournament, but this is the deck i'm running in swiss tonight.
i did
-ysera
-2 yeti
-1 slam
+1 pyro
+ TBK
+2 shieldmaster
i feel some of the points made about TBK being ran in every deck, so it reduces the value of senji, but i think overall I am having trouble with aggro, so senji helps a lot with that.
Thalnos is ok. I see some people skipping the Frothings and some people opting for Yetis/Senjin. The thing is, there is so much TBK in the current meta, I don't see Senjin being viable anytime soon. Sure, you may be struggling against zoo lock and that's fine, but I don't think a Taunt does much. I'd rather be proactive and get Wild Pyros (which I am) since they're perfect at dealing damage in separate instances (like you can effectively deal 3 single / 1 splash with slam or even your normal Whirlwind suddenly kills all Divine Shield minions as well.
Other cards you may consider - Spellbreaker, BGH, Abomination, Sylvannas, an extra Wild Pyro (it does wonders, i'm considering a second one myself)
Thanks ALOT man! Great comments you make here. I definitly want to run a TBK when I get one/can craft one. As far as the Pyro goes, I think it's more midrange friendly, but I completely agree that it makes divine shield much easier to deal with. It seems like you either run a pyro or a thalanos. I do like Baron Geddon a lot, he's "only" 7, and often you can get a 3-4-1 even if he dies the next turn.
As far as cleave goes, I don't think I want to run that as I resent the mandatory 2 targets aspect of the spell. I wish I could run 4 whirlwinds, never enough frothing berserker/armorsmith/whirlwind interaction as far as i'm concerned. A lot of times with the yetis I feel like i'm not in a position to be dropping them on turn 4 because i'm busy gaining armor/shield slamming or whirlwinding/berserk etc, so I find myself dropping yetis very late game (which can still be good, but not really helping me in mid game like a pyro can).
I need to make room in my decklist for a faceless too (i totally agree it's amazing vs a rag/etc.). I also don't run a BGH. I'm still experimenting with the build in the meta, so if you want to talk about it in game while we climb ladder i'm down! add me : mute#1667. I think i'll be playing this kind of build in the MG Open Swiss tonight.
I'm starting to run control warrior instead of huntard in season 1, and i'm hoping you guys can assess what you think is the optimal decklist. to be clear, i do NOT want to run midrange, I want to run the control warrior archetype. Currently i'm using the hearthpwn meta analysis deck list
but i'm not entirely convinced this is the optimal decklist. Reynad runs a little different: (senji and thalanos) what do you guys think? I think the Thalanos is pretty superior considering Slam and Whirlwind, but not sure about the Senji Shieldmasters...
Something like this for those who are unfamiliar with google calendar. Each event could be colored based on whether its Limited, Open, Prizes, money, or NA or EU. Each event would also have a signup link or a tournament link in the description of each event.
This will also help things like tournaments being scheduled at the same time (example: Oasis player run tournament and Vivacity tournament are overlapping on 2/22 this week.
Edit: Also, i'm sure that someone with CSS experience or the website developers could integrate a calendar system that was even consistent with the design elements of Hearthpwn and Hearthstone UI/colors/etc.
Given the nature of forums, it can become confusing trying to organize the tournaments. I propose that we start a google calendar with a select few admins (MG staff, MLG mod, etc) that will keep the Tournament calendar up to date. People bumping last weeks tournaments is confusing, and this will be a lot easier way to process whether or not there is a tournament on a specific night, also, it will show the recurring nights easier (MG Fridays, Limited Wednesdays, etc). I'm not at all saying we should get rid of this forum, i'm just saying that we should use a group calendar to view it in calendar format.

Ready to go.
Best way to deal with teamspeak...
I wish this was on Feburary 14th so we have something to do with our crippling loneliness.
Hey those links actually link to the Swiss week #7, not 8.
What are you guys thinking of running for this? My thoughts:
Harvest Golem, Argus, Sunfury Protector gonna rule all.
