As far as this rogue assassinate vs sap debate goes, @christonya you said you assassinated 2 sunwalkers, i.e winning the game. Here is my take on it. Sap does exactly this except (especially with rogue who aren't known for late game) you have and extra 3 mana to play around with. This is a huge tempo advantage. Don't think of it as OMG I CANT KILL HIS MINION, think of it as "okay he wasted 1 turn, now he will waste another turn as I combo bigger and bigger plays and just bounce his "game winning" creature". I play a take on kolentos miracle rogue deck so generally I just need that last card to combo for 18+ damage and win in one turn. Chances are if you haven't finished your opponent off by mid-mid/late game then you are going to lose regardless.
*obviously I am biased towards Sap but only because I've realized the potential of this card and don't see myself switching back to assassinate any time soon
^^ I think you are playing it wrong then, try using sap instead of assassinate to remove big taunts and maybe 1 iron beak owl to help get through. Also you should be using your dagger to kill minions, that's the whole point of it. If you don't use dagger and are just trading your minions then you are obviously going to lose because you have nothing left to work with. Try watching some streamers that play rogue n see how they make plays and trade cards I think it will greatly help you own in your own endeavors.
@ tomarkthegreat - about using pagle in a rush deck, pre-nerf I actually stuck him in my murlock warlock deck and it was actually pretty legit. Then again the few games i played with that deck I got him opening hand and he drew 3 straight cards which was huge so it could be viable. I'm not sure how so much any more.
I would like to paint a little picture for you guys about a game I just played (me on Priest vs Shaman). We are both late game geared decks and it is turn 10. He has hand and life advantage. Shaman starts spamming emotes and drops Earth Elemental. I play Mind Control and pass. He starts spamming emotes again and drops second Earth Elemental. My turn starts and I play Big Game Hunter swing for face and pass. Starts spamming emotes again and drops his Deathwing. Start of my turn (now get this I literally JUST ADDED my own deathwing into my deck having lost a close late game vs. a druid the game before) and had Deathwing sitting in my hand since the start of this match so I drop my own Deathwing!!!! winning on the next turn *drops the mic, crowd goes wild....walks off-stage* AH THANK YOU AH THANK YOU
message to you all, don't act like a smug little bitch or you might lose like one
for me that makes it a very situational. It's very easily to play around and anyone with a half a brain will attack with a smaller creature first just to test if it is a misdirection or freezing trap.
I would say your main problem is you have a lot of "one of's" in your deck. The key to winning is consistency. Try to pick out a few core cards and then build the rest of your deck around that. ex. 2 drakes, 2 argus etc.
very interesting, wish i had the cards to try this out and I will agree with most of your card options except for freezing trap being the best trap in the game.
enemy mage has mirror entity, I play faceless manipulator to copy a senjin'. My intent is he gets a 3/3 manipulator and i get a senjin however this was not the case as he ended up with a second senjin. Does this interaction seem incorrect to anyone else?
