There are plenty of decks that "work" and don't go to Legend. Mill is a good example
If OP found some success with it, it at least means it "works" for him, to some extent, and maybe more than expected.
"Working" is fairly subjective, but since we are on a netdecking website, and the definition of "to work" is probably old Secret-pally level of consistence, then yeah, I wouldn't say this works.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
As always this isn't a legendary deck, but it's hella fun!
I somehow skipped this line. So then have fun with it.
What you have here is a deck with no tools to play from behind, so every deck that is faster than yours will out pace you. And every time you lose the board you will never gain it back.
You'll win by running slower decks out of removal with midrange minions, and will snatch a Blessed Champion combo win occasionally. To make that combo a consistent win condition, you would need more card draw than you currently have.
Get at least 1 Truesilver Champion in there for something which isn't a dragon. I would recommend a Seal of Champions since that card is overcosted and you never want 2 in hand. Keep it in your opening hand and it will make your protectors and blessings more consistent.

If someone wants to have fun with deckbuilding then I'm all ears on ideas. But claiming something works is another thing entirely.
Mill is a meta dependant strategy which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I guess if the meta was mostly control warrior then this deck would "work", but it could also be better.
Have to 100% agree with Rjomario here, i main paladin (although i mostly play wild) and i can tell for sure that this deck wont work, it might even have a hard time reaching rank 10 to be honest.
1.The deck has no early taunts and no heal at all meaning that if you queue against aggro (especially pirate warrior) you might aswell just hit the concede button already.
2.Theres (as already been said) no comeback mechanic which paladin needs because there are no good early drops for the class available and 1 consecration is a joke you probably wont even draw it in most matchups in general having 1 copy of a board clear is way too inconsistent. (even truesilver would help getting back somehow into the game)
3.You have made some incredibly odd choices with your cards, while i appreciate variety and creative deckbuilding a lot of things here i found to be nonsense 2x blessing of wisdom will almost always not getting you value, if at all 1 card and if you play it on the opponents minion you lose lots of tempo. Midnight drake is almost always worse than twilight drake since HP is just so much more valueable than attack especially in a deck like this.
I really dont want to sound mean here but it does not look like your deck has gone through a big thought process at all, it seems like a weird Dragon, handbuff, combo blessed champion deck which tries to combine all in one but is not particularly strong at any of those.
I love that folks are so awesome at this game they can look at a deck and say it's terrible. If it really is offending people that I've made some Pheonic choices they don't approve of I'll remove it.
I will say however this deck IS fun and I AM winning with it - and I will once again stipulate I've never claimed this deck will get you to legend, in fact I've never made any mention of rank.
My intention wasnt to sound mean i just wanted to give constructive criticism on how to improve the deck and what the flaws are.
No one is offended by your card choices (in fact why should i) i just thought they were odd and could need some improvement, but if you dont want to change your deck at all why make a thread about it ? Atleast i like to use deck threads for discussion about possible card changes, bad matchups, good matchups and so on and while i agree that my previous comment might have looked harsh it is just the truth.
Hey listen there's no hard feelings dude, at the end of the day you can say and suggest what you like and the reason to make a thread is so folks can maybe try it out and see what they think.
Thats what bugs me about these forums, people look at something and go "ew that sucks you don't have the cards everyone uses you should concede at life" - and it's bullshit.
Look at a player like WowHobbs, plays his own decks as far from the meta as possible and you know what? He has fun!
I tested this deck with and without weapons and discovered my win rate was higher without them, I also discovered that midnight drake is effective in this deck since you can use diving shield from multiple sources to keep it alive long enough to do massive damage. No early taunts doesn't matter so much if your opponent has no board left and against pirate warrior I've consistently found they have no minions that live long enough to become a problem.
But honestly say what you like, there are no hard feelings - I'm just trying to help more people have fun with this game and care less about the meta, people talk about how much the. Ew player experience sucks these days well here is an answer for you.
I agree that fun is the most important factor in this game (every game to be honest) but for a lot of people winning is a part of the fun.
Im also by no means a fan of playing meta decks (in fact atleast in wild i only play my own homebrew decks with mild success at rank 5+) but i just think decks can be fun but also having a half-decent winrate on top of it.
Thats what bugs me about these forums, people look at something and go "ew that sucks you don't have the cards everyone uses you should concede at life" - and it's bullshit.
And thats not what i said at all, i can totally understand that you dont want to change every damn card in your deck i mean obviously otherwise it would lose the original intention you had with it but minor changes like including wickerflame for the buff synergy + better aggro winrate wont hurt and it also wont change the spirit of the deck.
But in the end everyone experiences fun in another way. Some might only have fun reaching legend, getting a full collection (or maybe even full golden), completing all the golden heroes or winning with gimmick decks (such as majordomo mage).
I know you weren't saying that specifically and let me be clear: I appreciate the time you've taken to reply to a thread with suggestions and comments.
I was more replying to the full slew of comments as a whole and saying to the community that the attitude of "you are n00b why no *card X*?" I remember sharing decks before and people being sceptical but positive and I just consistently see that positive energy be sapped from all threads and it bugs me. I get that most folks in these forums are probably very young so they're angry and confused but it just makes for a lousy "community" you know?
So Gamefighter3000 I know you're not being aggressive and I'm not suggesting you are, I appreciate the comments man.
A great deal of players come to the forums after having been hammered in the face repeatedly by Small-time buccaneer and the forums slowly turn to a saltmine.
The thing is that since OG a working paladin deck is like an oasis in the desert and naturally we flock to it.
For those concerned with a comeback mechanic I just beat a midrange shaman that had me on 5 health. I've also consistently been beating pirate warrior.
Hey folks!
So I've seen a lot of people say recently that the decline of the Paladin is inevitable and it's not viable anymore.
So I tested the theory and made a fun deck based around grimy goons, buffs, divine shield and Dragons!
So far it's on a positive win rate but that could be that my opponents have been wondering what the hell is going on!
Self explanatory really: buff those dragons and keep them on the board with divine shield!
As always this isn't a legendary deck, but it's hella fun!
Works to rank 10 maybe.
Please stop this nonsense.
I'd be willing to bet a humble size of 10,000$ that you can't get this to legend. In return, please take "works" out of the title.

That's right OP. Unless a deck can get to Legend it isn't good and it doesn't work. Remember, a 56% win rate to rank 5 is not very good at all. http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/183657-shamanstone-150-ladder-games-as-a-lowly-paladin
So how dare you anyway? This forum is for big boys.
[/sarcasm]
I mean, does it have to be a buffadin? Also why not add Brann?
The Nexus comes to the Inn with my set of Heroes of the Storm Legendaries!
There is no cancer deck in hearthstone ! You are the Cancer !

It's probably not exclusive to maturity.

Made an edit to the deck removing one Blessing of Wisdom and replacing it with Blubber Baron
For those concerned with a comeback mechanic I just beat a midrange shaman that had me on 5 health. I've also consistently been beating pirate warrior.
This desk passes my basic test. It is a lot of fun to play.
