The only Similar game I have played is hearthstone, eternal gets linked to Magic, but that means nothing to me...
I love Eternal, and I think it's a much better game than HS in many ways....but Shadowverse makes my eyes bleed. I can not stand the visuals in Shadowverse, but I have not played it yet tho.
Eternal is awesome, and so F2P friendly that it's hard not to give it a try to see if you would like it, or not.
Eternal would be the better of the two, Shadowverse just tries to attract an audience by sexualizing half the cards in the game.
Basically what’s similar to magic would be the mana system. You have to actually play mana cards in your deck. This leads to some games where you get mana screwed (drawing no mana) or mana flooded (drawing only mana) so I’m personally not much of a fan of it.
I don't like how ShadowVerse looks like. Maybe it has great mechanics etc. but i can't play games which i visually don't like. Eternal is pretty nice (if you like MtG).

I've played both, and I think Eternal is a far better game in terms of balance. Shadowverse combines faster play and extremely powerful cards and combos, leading to a meta where many games are simply a race to the win condition. Whoever draws into their killing combo first is going to win.
The Eternal devs are much more serious about balance and creating an enjoyable experience for the player. Obviously, there are still combos and such, but the pacing of the game isn't so frantic, so there's more room for all kinds of deck archetypes. Overall, there's just a lot more variety in terms of keywords and effects and factions. It's a deeper game -- I'd even go so far as to say it's the perfect blend of Hearthstone and Magic.

The latest expansion added two new, extremely flexible types of power cards, so there are now many, many ways to mitigate that problem. I used to get annoyed with the game due to being power-screwed, but now it happens so rarely that I can no longer be truly salty about it.
And don't forget the mulligan system -- if you decide to throw back your initial hand, the redraw is guaranteed to give you 2-4 power cards. Only the heaviest of heavy decks could have trouble getting by on that; and those heavy decks are going to run lots of cheap power-drawing spells anyway.
Honestly, this is really not a problem anymore, so if power-screw ever held you back from enjoying Eternal, you might want to give it another try.

Yep it's not much of an issue anymore, but it can happen from time-to-time during the games etc. I still believe Eternal is a much better game than HS over all, and I hope more and more people give it a try :)
Anyway, it would be really cool if HS had something like this. I played against someone with the reward back so it's real and you can get one, just not by buying.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Over a year ago, when I tried spellbinder and Eternal, I preferred Eternal.
Both are magic the gathering clones.
Eternal is completely a MtG clone - only the mana system is partially changed. Eventually stopped playing Eternal after they nerfed the 1st proper deck I built, then did not give dust refunds, because I had copies of the nerfed cards drop after I crafted them.
Spellbinder adds "unit speed", but I did not find the addition of speed added anything to the game. Basically flying and flying 2. Got bored really fast.
Both games are MtG based rather than hearthstone based. Which is to say, they don't have the same slippery slope from board control. But they do have much slower game flow, as the games pause to give opportunity for the opponent to play reaction cards after each action.
Mind you it is a long time since I tried either, so they may have improved.
Hello to fellow new players (I started last month). This game has blown me away with how fun it is and how generous the in game rewards are for playing. Enjoy the free extra deck by signing up through here:

So in Eternal, when you play against a Dev, they have a special card back, and you get a special back if you beat them.

I love it, no rng at all, very in-depth strategy needed, nice artworks, generous reward system!
Give it a try, so refreshing after so many years of Hearthstone!

Yes, and that's another reason why I like it so much!

Try Eternal once more.
They add a monthly sealed league to events which is amazing.
haha that will never happen with HS, because Blizzard is very lazy with their game. You can keep waiting if you want to tho :)
Tournament mode testing on Sunday. Up yours, Blizzard.
ye i saw this news few hours ago. :D
due to how hearthstone is right now for the past week I started to play Eternal and i'm loving it so far.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
