being raiding in soo hc , all the pauses the players where talking about hearstone, mostly complaining about how op was rogue, then priest. finallly a guildy got a bet key before me and give it to me, i think it was in september -october last 2013. also they knwe i played a lot of mtg before.
I bought my first MTG booster in 1994, this game is one of the best memories of my childhood. When I heard about hearthstone I immediately know I will going to be hooked to this game. I'm not legend (no time for this) but I've some nice decks. With HS at least I'm not going to loose my card collection. And for those who says HS is a p2w: MTG was way more expensive
Gaming news website I frequent had an article about it way back before closed beta. I used to play Yu-gi-oh and am a Warcraft lore junkie, the idea of combining that love for lore with a card game bit me, and I started watching Youtube vids (TotalBiscuit was my go-to channel back then).
When closed beta hit, that same website I first learned about Hearthstone on had 10 keys to give away, and those who were around back then know how crazy the key hunt was. I got one of those 10 keys, and the rest, as they say, is history
Hard to believe I've been playing this crazy game for over a year now!
I heard about it while on the World of Warcraft site. I got in the beta at the start of November, didn't play until late November but it was fun. I've spent a lot of time and money on this game and I have fun a lot of the time, even though I'm usually rank 17-20. I've played Magic: the Gathering, Vampire: the Eternal Struggle, Legend of the Five Rings and tried a lot of other CCGs on a casual level. They're expensive but interesting.
I've accidentally read about it in late May 2014 on one of the gaming sites. Never played anything Blizzard made except Diablo 1 & 2, so i still have no idea what is the relationship between Illidan and Druid hero (can’t remember his name even though currently playing Druid :( ).
Could not wait restoring old battle.net account, so had to create a new one) Tried Hearthstone, and was immediately hooked. The perfect online CCG realization i’ve always wanted and could not find in MTGo (been playing paper MTG from 1999 to 2005).
Everyone that's posted seems to have some kind of card game background or decently progressive-from-similar-things background that led them in a logical way to Hearthstone.
I just wandered in because I have a lot of time on my hands right now & was surfing the internet to fill some of it. I got into Hearthstone because of a big bright blue button that said "Free to Play"...
I've since found out that it's not exactly, really & truely "free to play" but I don't have a gripe about that really. I haven't yet paid "big bucks" (over $1.99) on the expansion, but it seems pretty reasonable too.
When you actually consider that you can't get in & out of Starbucks for $1.99, I think that's pretty good value. Considering how now I have a hobby that I can do while flat on my back, I figure I'm on the winning end! (Cash-wise, of course... not win/loss in matches).
Blizzard does seem to have a knack for making really addictive games. I remember the original Diablo hack & slash game. For a game that was widely panned as "lacking in depth" it easily was the most played game available for a long, long time.

I saw Day9 playing it back in open beta, as an avid Magic player who loathes Magic Online I knew I had found my new game.
