Made it at last to rank 5 with my Reno N'Zoth mage deck. I am really waiting for the rank floors to come in so I can experiment on such ranks. I want to play other decks but I am going to drop if I am not familiar with it or if it doesn't fit the meta.
Yeah, push as hard as you've never done, cuz this is the last season where your playing the hard mode where every loss is detrimental whereras the next season when they add the safty bar you can reach legend with <10% win rate. So make sure you can hit legend when it matters. As for me I don't have time to push so i will never get the legend title in hard mode.
you can't be more wrong. where did you pull <10%. you can't reach legend if you aint higher than 50% and new floors won't change that

Not true. If you're at rank 5 and you lose 1000 games in a row and then win 25 in a row, you'd make legend with a 2.4% win rate.

I think he's trying to say this, as an example: You lose 275 games at rank 5 floor, then you proceed to win 25 games in a row. Now you're legend with a 8,33% winrate.

well obviously. but 5 to legend what's matters that 25 games can't be passed without a 50% winrate. if op really meant what you said he should've write KAPPA because that's what your argument is a technicality that doesn't mean anything
Anyway, the 10% argument from rank 5 to legend would be the same if we take the current rank 20 floor.
Lose 2000 games at rank 20, then winstreak to legend and you'll have a low winrate run aswell.
No, there is no 10% argument, the 10% is not the main point in the original post or in any post, it's an example, some other dude use 8% and yet another gal 2%. The % is not important as it is just an example. The argument is that it will be eaiser to rank up to legend next season, and that argument stands stong without any contest, 10% or 3.6%. So one could push legend now, but that will be harder then if you try to push legend next season. With that said, due to that solid and flawless reasoning i will not under any circumstances whatsoever try to push legend this hard season when i could try next season, the easier season.
try any season you want it's gonna be the same. if you can't make it now you won't next month either. I still can't believe any human mind creates this argument let alone calls it a strong one.

agreed. reddit has already calculated the average games it will take to get to legend with current winrates under the new and old system. The difference isnt as great as you would think. At a say, 65% winrate, the change in stars needed is pretty much non existent. at a 55% winrate it might save you like 20 overall games at of 500+. What is likely going to happen is more people will hit rank 5 and stay there to get shit on for the rest of season. The new rank 5 will likely become rank 4-3 depending on the amount of lucky rank 5's there are. Normal rank 5's might push to 4 then get beat back to 5 etc.
I have not seen the reddit calculations referenced above, but do they take into account the lower difficulty at each tier, or do they just figure how many stars you'll save by not falling below rank 5, 10 etc. Players that right now are good enough to make rank 5 will no longer fall back to 6-10 on a losing streak, meaning that the difficulty level at 6-10 should decrease (and thus win rates increase). Ranks 1-5 are hard enough but imagine how much harder it would be if players could fall back there from legend. So we're talking not only less stars over the course of the season, but also easier opponents at higher ranks. We'll also see more players that were maybe good enough to just hit 5 (but not good enough to stay there) hanging around in 1-5.
It's much harder at rank 1 and 2 than rank 5. People who get a 25 win streak at rank 5 is definetively skilled enough to reach legend (old format and new format), it should be meta defining. But overall I think we will see more legend players, and more gimmick decks at rank 5. And the lower ranks will be even easier.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Everything that isn't about elephants is irrelephant.
Finally rank 5!!! its one of the most difficult season ever, with so many different archetype viable at the same time, I always get different match up every single game, pirate warrior->dragon priest->renolock->jade shaman->jade druid->reno mage->secret pally->repeat. Anyone else feel the same?
Currently rank1: lots of lots of pirate warrior, 2-3 renomages, 1 freeze mage, 6-7 midrange shamans (the oldschool), 1 zoolock, lots of renolock, 2 malyshamans,2-3 jade shamans few aggroshaman, 1 otk priest, 2 dragon priest, 1 renopriest , 2 tokendruids, 3 nzoth warriors. These are the decks what I've met in the past 2 days from r5 to r1. Climbing with renolock( the slow one) , having great success, I hope my luck will bring to legend at the last rank.
Played so far : 32 wins+15 losses. Today+yesterday.
Update: done, I couldn't track the final days. But it wasn't as easy as I was expecting. But finally : Legend. Jade shaman was the key for the last 2 days. With heals and heals .

I'm done guys, kudos to the ones who made it this season. I've seen enough bullshit for a couple of lifetimes right about now ...
Any advice for rank 3 to legend? 17 -> 3 with Nzoth Reno mage, but i want change
