Ok, I am looking back at the list i got to 10wins today...And I've had multiple 10 wins runs before...
but this decklist feels so weak....yea somehow managed a 10win....
I'm sure I've drafted better decks than this but did a lot worse
Do you even think this is a good deck? It looks horrible to my naked eyes. Only good thing about it is the mana curve
Is it because I was playing in the earling morning??? Where playerbase is alot weaker? If so, I'd do arena runs solely after past midnight lol
Or is this a good deck because of the good mana curve????
Or did goddess of luck blessed me?
And no, this isn't a bragging thread, it's only a 10win run which i've nothing to brag about, I want to do 12 wins, which i've never accomplished before
Oh and mage isn't my first pick in arenas, my top choices are Paladin, Warlock + Rogue/Druid respectively
Looks like a good minion deck to me. I would expect that deck to go 8-10 wins. A good curve can hide a ton of flaws. The only thing the deck is missing is a good catch up card. You have a yeti and an ogre which are really good card advantage cards. I'm sure the games you lost you fell behind and just couldn't catch up. Only real poor minions are razorfen and mage. Good job.
Yeah, the minions look actually quite good. I've also noticed that, when faced with no better option, Elven Archer performs surprisingly well in mage given the hero power. 3 mana: deal 2 damage and summon a 1/1 really isn't that bad, and it goes without saying that clearing your opponent's 3/2 on turn 3 (and probably saving your own 3/2 also) is incredibly useful.
Your curve is majestic. I've realized that curve is EVERYTHING in arena. You can have 4 legendaries, but if you get stuck with a bunch of 3-manas for turn 4 and turn 5 you're probably going to fall behind. On the other hand, a good curve opens up possibilities in even the poorest of decks.
I would have predicted 7-8 wins, so you may have gotten a bit lucky (or played really well!) to get to 10, but with a fireball, 2 water elementals, a yeti, an ogre and other decent cards it looks better than some of my own recent drafts. Congrats!
You might have overestimated the impact of the few weak cards (which are admittedly there) on the overall deck quality. I sometimes do the same, where I pick a few cards that I really dislike and underestimate the deck as a whole because of it. As a lot of others have pointed out, you do have a fair number of great cards as well. And that mana curve looks like it's out of a constructed deck, which can make a big difference. A really strong mana curve with a good number of solid minions means that with a bit of card draw means that you can usually dominate the early game, and win if they can't catch up in time.
