So far, the third Brawl seems like most fun, even if its RNG, RNG everywhere. Eventhough I have the same problem as with the others ... after half an hour of playing it ... I kinda dont want to / have reason to anymore... might aswell ladder and get some more wins towards the swag portraits ...
They really need to put in some kind of progression that would make playing brawl have a meaning, aside from killing 10 minutes every week. I think Kripp suggested tokens that would turn cards into gold versions, but prevent you from disenchanting them ... something like that, so that I can have fun AND work towards something.
the reward here is the fun at playing it. No other reward needed indeed.
That is a stupid reply and anybody who uses it knows nothing about game design.
Even the most basic games on Atari 2600 had a reward, the reward was in a form of a highscore or something similar. The current win counter that Blizzard has added is simply useless since it's resets every brawl, there isn't even a list where the players with the most wins are shown.
Every game needs to reward the player. Whether it's in form of progression(getting better gear or levels in a mmo ) or simply a number that you can compare to other players(for example Pinball games that show global highscores).
They even added a free pack to get people to play Tavern Brawl but after getting the pack there is no reason for someone to play the game mode. And don't bring up "hurr durr all that matter is fun!!" , because basic game design will tell you that is incorrect.
enjoying this week more than last, but less than week 1 by a fair margin.
played 1 game with each class so far, lost with shaman, warlock, and druid, and won with the rest. at worst i'll play enough to get a win with the 3 classes I haven't so far, but i'll probably decide to play a certain number with each class (5? 10?) and see which one I win with the most

You can still do dailies. Frankly that's all the rewards casual as had up until now, and practically all the rewards ranked has had.
People are suggesting packs for more wins or extra gold or what not but honestly if that were the case Brawl would just be flat out be better to play than most modes (dependingly, even arena) and while Brawls can be fun the first few matches I really, really don't be forced into playing them to fill out my collection.
Banana one has been the best one, spiders is the worst
Elaborate young Slothslayer.
Nefarian vs Ragnaros was not balanced extremely well, but the flavor and fun were still there. Two Gods combating each other with broken cards. (My least favorite so far tho)
Banana Jammin' was a lot of fun and I wish we had a bit more time and more incentive to keep building new decks to keep this format and brawl exciting. (My Second favorite from almost endless potential alone)
Spiders (Arachnophobia) so far has been my favorite. It reminds me of the same flavor from the Naxxramas Hunter challenge and the BRM Mage Challenge. It also rewards people for knowing how to do combat math and hold a board position correctly. At least this brawl helps players learn combat and gives them the closest feeling possible to Ranked. I also like how this one lets you play any class you'd like and lets you grind your quests if you are a newer player and don't own a deck for every class.
So sick and tired of all the bitching from this community. You didn't pay anything for tavern brawl, and you get a pack out of it. If you don't like it, shut up and move on to whatever you do like.
Personally, I've really enjoyed all three weeks. And from the amount of play it seems to be getting, there's a silent majority who are enjoying it.
i play brawl for the packs mainly.. occasional quest if i can make some decks and i enjoyed this week's. even if it was just 7 random class spells, 23 webspinners :P

I can do that.
Each of the brawls have been setup to be in a different style. What you see in these forums is that each of the brawls has synced with different players. Some players loved brawl 1. Others 2. Others are enjoying 3. As each brawl has been very different from each other, most players have found that they enjoyed one of them and not so much the others.
The person you spoke to enjoyed #1. You enjoyed #2. Myself I preferred 2 though I like 3 and went meh on 1.
Personally I think it was by design. The datamine showed that they had the first 2 brawls preplanned and, given that there was no special cards afterwards, seemed to have planned #3 as well beforehand. Seems odd then that there was screaming after #1 due to not being able to craft your own deck, then we get a deck craftin gbrawl. Then folks screamed about the brawl being too much like constructed, so we get this one. They are testing out different styles to see how we react to it and to give us an idea of what's possible.
So yeah. Next few brawls will probably go with different themese as well until they stop giving card packs,, aka when they don't need a mass of folks testing and reacting to new stimuli.
Though that DOES mean that you won't be seeing a repeat of the 3 brawls we have now until the test is complete. After that, be sure to let blizzard know which ones you liked more so you can get more of that.
mwuahahahaha just had a great brawl experience. Mage vs Mage. I was way ahead on cards but behind on board & health. My opponent got me down to 2 health and had like 5 minions out. He started spamming "hello". Unfortunately for him I had tundra rhino in hand. I cleared his board and still had the rhino and a finkle einhorn from his dead the beast. He played out a highmane and a few web spinners but my gahzrilla with charge that I pinged to 12 attack gave me exact lethal. "hello" hehehe
I am curious to see how will they implement the whole tavern brawl thing once this new one/free pack every week has ended. I guess you would have to pay certain amount of gold in order to play it (pretty much like arena). If that is so I'm curious what type of reward system will they implement too.

You either die a pimp, or you live long enough to see yourself become the hoe
I liked the first one because with two set decks it became a test of skill (tough a fair amount of luck was involved, particularly regarding the mulligan).
I liked the second one because you could construct your own deck and come up with zany things to do with the condition (though the fun started evaporating from it when people started netdecking it).
This one.. is pure, distilled RNG. Not my cuppa tea.

I honestly don't think I'll ever touch it again once the free pack for 1st win ends.
But that's just me. I don't find rng bullshit 'fun'

Time is precious. Waste it wisely. Legend Seasons: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17
Current deck: Not playing much anymore
Highest rank: legend rank 9 Highest finish: legend rank 103 Infinite Arena Player

God this community sucks.
3rd nice brawl in a row. Only annoying thing about the brawls are the tons of grumpy kiddies who hate every brawl because it is cool to hate.
(This brawl was even requested by a ton of players)
Who can take your trash out?
Stomp it down for you?
Shake the plastic bag
and do the twisty thingy, too?

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
I'll be SO PISSED once it's over

This one's awesome. Unstable Portal Brawl will be super as well! Or an All Cards Cost (1) Brawl! :D

They did say that it would be free forever, so it's probably gonna be something much less fancy than a pack.
