25th October update: AZSwim's Demon Pirate Zoolock - facing a Rogue with Dancing Swords?! (1080p)
I guess you could call this a midrange zoo deck. I am not sure how I feel about the discard effects - I seem to discard the Deathknight and other high value cards too often. Also not drawing the Prince early can be challenging. Still, it's a fun deck. The lack of AOE is slightly concerning. Therefore, I probably still prefer my Reno Demonlock (https://youtu.be/yHQZYfQU00Q). Spoilers: 2:15 Dancing Swords? Wow - not seen that card played on the ladder for at least two years! 4:28 Milling me won't work. 5:39 Betrayal? Another card that I haven't seen for quite some time! 10:54 Mal'Ganis vs Mal'Ganis. 11:33 DK vs DK!
28th October update: Sxavalentine's WILD Razakus Dragon Priest: Dream + Kazakus = Fun times (1080p)
As we reach the end of the October season, I move back to Priest - this time with dragons. Spoilers: 2:50 Saving Dragonfire for the wave of demons. 7:05 Brann + Kazakus is broken enough. How about Dream and Kazakus (7:25 8:17) 9:01 Usually, getting Doomsayer back from the Kazakus potion would cause panic. In this game, I really didn't care :-) I wanted to see how long it would take before my opponent conceded! 15:55 When being faced down by a board full massive threats, Lightbomb comes in handy :-) 17:00 Running Big Priest out of threats feels good.
2nd November update: 12 Win Mage/Hunter Arena - also featuring the Mage DK, Questing Adventurers and Windfury Huffer! (1080p)
t's time for Arena! I haven't produced an Arena video for such a long time. In this video, we get 12 wins! Before that, I have some fun with the Mage Deathknight and a couple of Questing Adventurers! Spoilers: 1:12 Questing Adventurer value! 4:40 Infinite healing value with Mage DK and Water Elementals 8:20 A quick diversion - over to the Asia ladder, triple Tirion vs the Warrior hero power. Oh dear! 8:52 Onward to 12 wins! A solid deck, which allowed me to play aggressively with Firelands Portals to the face! 9:53 Huffer with Windfury = 11 wins. 10:15 Going up against a Priest for 12 wins. 14:10 A Priest without a healing hero power? Two burn spells in hand? Aggression for the win! 14:42 An unexpected ending... with Explosive Trap :-)
4th November update: Poach's WILD Malygos Shaman - trying to get lucky (1080p)
Malygos Shaman. If you are lucky enough to have Malygos on the board and have enough spells that can target your opponent's face, you win. This deck does feel too slow at times. Sometimes, you spend too long waiting. Sometimes you don't draw your AOE or healing. Or... sometimes, your opponent finds a way to disable Malygos before it gets played (see 1:35). Malygos is your win condition. Without him, your chances of winning are slim...
5th November update: Gunnolf's Dragon Paladin - giants and fireballs, never lucky :-( (1080p)
Trying my luck with Dragon Paladin. Seems like a solid deck. However, I ran into some terrible luck - getting destroyed by giants and by double Fireball to the face (more than once)!
11th November update: Tykaine's WILD N'Zoth Reno Priest - outlasting Jade Druid and Big Priest (1080p)
These games were recorded last weekend at the start of the season. I was able to move quite quickly to rank 7, getting lucky in some quite challenging situations. I started off against Jade Druid. I would question some of my plays, not sure if they were optimal. Still, a win is a win. Spoilers: 8:30 Against Jade Druid, Skulking Geist helped massively. 12:08 Yes... please fatigue yourself. 14:20 Who plays Poison Seeds?!?! 20:16 Against Big Priest, stealing Ysera was my win condition :-)
12th November update: Slizzle466's Aggro Druid to rank 5 - beating giants and Priests! (1080p)
Getting rank 5 early in the November season with Aggro Druid. I have changed my line of thinking - usually I am quite passive, defensive and trade a lot. This time, I changed my mindset and tried to be more aggressive. It worked.
Spoilers: 3:22 Here comes the giants! Top deck Savage Roar is my response. 5:50 Aggression against a Priest. 8:50 Equality and Consecration was not enough for the Paladin. 13:30 turn 2 concede? Hmmm...
18th November update: SamKnowsHS WILD Aggro Dragon Priest - with an appearance by Archbishop Benedictus! (1080p)
Dragons... Who doesn't love dragons? :-) In the past, I have played slower dragon decks. This time, we speed things up. Thanks to SamKnowsHS for this deck (https://www.twitch.tv/samknowshs). Great player who experiments with interesting decks. Spoilers: 1) In the first game, I get greedy and pick Archbishop Benedictus from Operative - things don't go so well! 2) In the second game, I face a Zoolock and manage to win the board.
19th November update: GPDormant's Marin the Fox Reno Priest - with Alchemist / Chemist (1080p)
Marin the Fox. Hmmm... People have been trying the Inner Fire / Divine Spirit Priest deck. I was drawn to this version however... featuring the Alchemist / Chemist. I'm not sure how viable this is. I made some silly decisions - although I think that fits with the silly nature of Marin. I certainly had fun!!
2nd December update: Captainsealed's WILD Tempo Mage - The return of Flamewakers and Azure Drakes! (1080p)
Flamewaker. Oh how I have missed you. Strangely in this video, Azure Drake was the MVP! Some fun on the wild mode ladder at the start of the December season :-) Spoilers: 1:01 When a Priest gets hold of Antonidas... they don't even need the DK Raza combo :-( 4:20 My poor Warlock opponent scrambles desperately to find a solution to Antonidas. 9:20 Azure Drake + Arcane Blast #1 on a Trogg 9:50 Azure Drake + Arcane Blast #2 on a Trogg :-) 11:05 Protecting a 4 mana 7-7 with four taunts. My answer produces mixed results.
Thanks to scar_so for the original inspiration behind the deck, and thanks to Kite973 for some cool modifications to make the deck slightly faster (http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/970612-the-dragon-nzoth-reno-dk-mage-100-legend-65). In this video I showcase the ability of this dragon Reno Mage to overcome Raza DK Priest. The inclusion of Iceblock, Reno and the Mage DK can mean that the Priest never reaches a point where they can burst you down :-)
4th December update: Slizzle466's WILD Aggro Druid - finding lethal before the giants arrive! (1080p)
Waiting for the next expansion to arrive. Aggro Druid is a quick and efficient way to rank up, and stands a good chance against tier 1 wild decks. In this video, we were able to overcome a Priest and find lethal before a Hunter could kill us with giants!
8th December update: Kobolds and Catacombs - Opening 200 packs. How many legendaries? (1080p)
It's that time again. Time to open 200 packs! How many legendaries would I get? How much dust can I get from duplicate cards?
Spoilers for legendaries:
1:17 Zola the Gorgon 6:38 Rin, the First Disciple 7:45 Sonya Shadowdancer 11:34 Dragoncaller Alanna AND Twig of the World Tree 15:12 The RuneSpear 16:41 Val'anyr 17:56 Geosculptor Yip 20:20 Woecleaver 20:54 Ixlid, Fungal Lord 25:25 Skull of the Man'ari 29:22 Aluneth
9th December update: Foxor's Reincarnate 6.0 Shaman - when Naxx + Kobolds & Catacombs combine! (1080p)
Did you hear? There is a new expansion! Oh, you mean Naxxramas? Nerubian Egg, Kel'Thuzad and Sludge Belcher! Oh, wait... you mean Kobolds and Catacombs? This deck takes some of the most powerful Naxxramas cards and combines with some cool new Kobolds and Catacombs cards such as Master Oakheart, Sneaky Devil and Healing Rain. The egg interaction with Sneaky Devil is awesome - considering that Sneaky Devil has stealth! Oh, and the animation effect on Healing Rain is amazing! A tier 1 deck? Probably not. Just fun.
Duskbreaker from the Kobolds and Catacombs expansion looks like a great addition to Dragon Priest - at least, it holds value against aggro decks. Spoilers: 1.00 Deathwing for the win? 11.00 The Chromaggus value begins... 17:37 Duskbreaker is great against aggro!
11th December update: SMTI's WILD Burn Mage - Racing Hunters with Aluneth! (1080p)
Burn Mage... this is actually quite a challenging deck to play. When do you focus on clearing the board vs throwing burn at the face? Playing around Reno is also a challenge. Still... a fun deck to play. In this video, I race a Hunter for lethal, with Aluneth helping massively. Please do excuse any misplays :-)
Thanks to Flame Fusion for suggesting this deck. It's really fun to play. The secrets package provides your early game, before moving into a series of high value death rattle minions in the mid to late game. In this video, Sylvanas was the MVP! No time for games, indeed!
