Got legend for the first time tonight and man it feels good. Stats below.
Deck Used: Hybrid Shaman (yes I know, but it was still a tough climb)
Games played: About 250 games or so at about 56-58% winrate. I have yet to tally up everything but I did record the games.
Highlight of the climb: Beating Reynad live on his steam at rank 2 lol. He was extremely salty
If you're close to legend don't give up! I de-ranked twice after being one star away from legend but just kept grinding. It's just a matter of playing enough games until the odds turn in your favor in the form of a good win streak.
Good job, man! Got to legend for the first time last month myself. I didn't have the time and resources to record stuff though. I only get to play on Android too.
Out of curiosity, you said you recorded the games: do you have precise data on the amount of time it took you?
Not the usual "it only took me a few hours a day", something more like "rank a to b: x games, y minutes played".
I never tried it since my lack of perseverance / skillz / whatever, my love for gimmick decks and lack of time (I play less than 1 hour a day and I reckon you'd need much more than that), but who knows... Maybe one day...
My bad, by record I meant the old fashioned way, pen and paper. I played about 2 hours every day so this climb took me between 50-60 hours for sure.

When is Reynad NOT salty tho LOL Good job man! And now you need to grind the Golden Shaman Hero I think :)
Congratz dude. I can promise you that next season legend grind will be much easier with the experience you got from this season. I did go to legend with control n'zoth warrior this season and it just gets faster and faster every season to reach legend.
Just did it today for the first time as well, playing mid-shaman :)
My highlight was beating the same guy 4 times in a row for the last stars at rank 1 to legend. The poor guy kept changing decks but still couldn't beat me. At least he was already legend.
Don't listen to the haters... they are either (1) tryhards that can't make legend with metadecks, (2) jealous tryhards that have made legend and don't want people joining their "club," or (3) nowhere near legend who are mad their uber-clever decks lose to the proven decks.
I made legend for the first time last month with aggro shaman. Been playing since April '14. That might have been the best virtual achievement of my life, and like you, it felt DAMN good. And it still does - I'm stuck at rank 2-3 this month with "creative" decks and it's completely fine for once.
Winning 25 more games than you lose against (generally) equally talented opponents is an extremely daunting task regardless of you deck. Grats man.

Congrats man! I got denied legend twice by the same guy playing dragon warrior

Something doesn't add up, played 250 games 56-58% win rate and it was 50-60 hours?
For example: played 106 games to Legend and it took 11.8 hours exactly (6.7 min per match). Shaman games are even faster than my Midrange Hunter ones, so how did it take 50-60 hours for 250 games? Should be literally over two times fewer hours? If what you said is true you played like 13-14 minutes each match with Face Shaman which is... well idk what you do but average shouldn't be over 6-7 minutes
Anyways, GZ on Legend!
Im sorry im way off. I played 228 games and won 128. I was just throwing a number out there, it's probably more like 30 hours
Congrats dude, must feel like quite a accomplishment after 60 hours.
I tried all this season to make Legend, and I sadly couldn't make it, capping out at rank 3.
Did you stick with just one deck throughout the whole climb?
I stuck with the same deck, which is the best way to go about it. If you can get rank 3, trust me, you can get legend. At that point it's just a matter of playing enough games to get there. I was stuck at rank 4 for almost a week.

I think you're exactly right haha. Yeah it's an amazing feeling to get legend. I know aggro shaman is one of the easier decks to pilot but there were plenty of games where I made a decision that won me the game (playing around AoE, deciding to trade or not, managing overload etc...). Congrats on your legend!
Why are you guys so salty and jealous of the legend player? Lol. You guys remind me of a couple of people I know who uses trihard tier 1 decks, but can never get past rank 10 lol

Rasengan!!!
Is it possible you link us to your battle with Reynad?
Why are you calling it "Hybrid shaman" and on screenshot it is "Aggro"?
Hybrid =between aggro and midrange? Or what?
P.s imo, current ladder system supports such aggro shamans and decrease variety.

Cool another Legend shaman player. Want a cookie?
feels good to play a skill intensive deck right?
such an accomplishment getting legend with shaman like the 1,000 other people before you
4 mana 7/7 for the win amirite
Gratz Dood, forget all these piss ants for raining on your parade.
I see a lot of the people on here like their chips with extra salt.
