So I was struggling a bit with arena since the last patch. I hadn't really investigated why until today, just know that what was working with mage/rogue/priest suddenly was lackluster and I really hate losing all the time ... (◣_◢)
I was getting a little frustrated and unsure what to do ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ahh smack the research brain... enter Shaman class? Shaman... but I hate Shaman class, especially in arena, hmmph.
Now i don't play Shaman that much, it just hasn't been my favorite so my bag of tricks is limited, however with just a few minutes thought during draft... all I can say is please take evolve when it comes up during your draft because it will, along with lightning storm, crackling doom, and the shit ton of single and whole board removals available which are sorely lacking in arena with the other classes.
Still, i wasn't doing great really, lots of trades and after 7 rounds, i had managed to fill the board anyway with 2 totems, 2 three mana taunts, played a feral spirit, and on the other side were 2 big honking 5 mana taunts.. yuck! hmmm mad bomber.. and one of those minions are a deadfocker, i hate the 5 damage you have to take from it when you die as I'm sure everyone does. hmmmm whatever should I do, yep my 7 minions which added up to a whopping total of 8/11 on the board, i did what damage I could do to other minion and hit evolve... WTF! 29/27 on the board now.. and they all came back a little stranger too, king mukla, ancient harbinger, shadow rager, and pit lord just to name a few.
I could see the red aura hitting all the cards as he inspected the gloriousness that just happened.. then 1 second .. 2 seconds.. I concede to you! I actually let out a burst of giggle laughter.. ☉▵☉凸 so I am headed back in and Shaman class has a brand new believer.
One of the funniest matches I've played. Was playing against a Jade Druid who had shuffled a LOT of Jade idols into his deck. He had 18 cards left, I had 3. Played King Togwaggle and mind vision, copied the ransom.
He then swapped decks back on the next turn, only for me to swap again, giving me a bunch of jade idols while he had virtually nothing. He conceded.
Well anyway I was playing Murlock Paladin against a Cubelock. After so much struggling -- and I mean HIM struggling; I was just dumping my hand on the board -- I managed to establish a board with 5 murlocs including a warleader he recruits a Voidlord via Dark Pact -> Possesed Lackey. I only have gentle Megasaur in hand and I know I need to push because he will draw eventually another AoE. So I proceed to my turn and I topdeck a Spellbreaker. Needless to say that my Gentle Megasaur gave my murlocs Windfury. It was quite gentle of him. So I proceed to smash his face into smithereens while spamming well played and laughing all along.
I can still hear "Your soul shall suffer".
Anyway I had so much fun with it and I wanted to share.
I just played a guy twice in a row.. I was playing Fungal zoo. First game, i won, pretty much the standard "beat your ass before turn 7". Second game though! He used ALL his removal early to fight for the board, and he really did get a lot of control... Untill i dropped the Bloodreaver himself, and resummoned 2 Doomguards, 2 Dreadlords, 1 Voidwalker and 2 flame imps xD He never saw Gul'dan comming, and god damn it, it felt so great to give him the mental finger, after a game 2 filled with him spamming emotes, everytime he made a trade or cleared the board xD
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
May your days be salty, and your nights bitter! :D
TFW you're Control Warlock vs. Kingsbane Rogue, your opponent believes it's just a matter of time until he wins, then you Ooze + Gnomeferatu his Kingsbane once he emptied his deck.
I hit legend rank in Wild on Tuesday (for the first time ever) :-) I got Gold Priest Yesterday and opened a quest pack today and got Sherazin, Corpse Flower then 30 mins later opened an arena pack and got Dragon Soul
Played a game against a Kingsbane mill rogue, and he had everything he needed. Early removal, early kingsbane, saps etc. You know... the usual insane draws BS that happens now and then.
I was playing inner fire Priest, and he milled two inner fires and one divine spirit (I had one inner fire in hand from Shadow Visions). Fortunately I had stolen his DK with Drakonoid operative. However, I still needed a minion to stick on the board to kill him off. But with a 13/3 kingsbane that was an impossible task. Until I played a 3/6 (can't remember the name) dragon to kill off his vilespine slayer.
He buffed his weapon to a 17/2 and I was about to concede. However, instead of kylling my minion he went face for a two-turn-kill. I guess he felt safe because for some reason.
Well... thank you. I buffed my minion to a 36/36 to kill him off. I rare my opponents make such stupid mistakes - especially since it was obvious I just tried to get a minion to stick on the board. I felt good.
I come to you now at the turning of the tide

Luckily for him it was only casual...
Got my first golden duplicate (if I remember correctly)
The goal of all life is death.

After losing my first 5 games i won the next 7 in a row with the same deck. That feels good.
All Skill, No Luck
That’s right 7 The Darknesses
If I heard correctly, apparently the witchwood is coming out on my birthday, so that'll be fun!
It might not be as good as big priest, but man do i love big rogue in wild.

Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
I played a Kingsbane Rogue yesterday who destroyed his Kingsbane by using Coldlight oracle when he already had 9 other cards in hand.
I laughed.
oh what a pleasant little surprise

Its been a good week at the Hearth

Played a game in casual to finish the "play X class cards" quest
My opponent had about the same quest, so he put me on 1 and then we just played cards till I fatiqued.
He went in fatique earlier, but had much more life to work with.
I love these games, where both don't care about the win and try to play as many cards as we can.
